and par for the course. how much money the secret service is spending on golf carts to keep up with the president. a good thursday morning. we begin with the growing list of shocking allegations against former "today" host matt lauer. >> quickly fired from nbc and his reported $25 million job when a colleague accused him of inappropriate sexual behavior. the network has since received complaints from at least two more accusers and other nbc staffers are now sharing stories of lewd workplace conduct. >> the tabloids pounced on the story. you can see the cover of "the daily news" reading today's perv and "new york post" dirty rock, a play on nbc headquarters 30 rockefeller plaza. overnight new reaction to the scandal that brought down matt lauer. >> if you're wondering where in the world is matt lauer, he's probably at a bar with charlie rose. >> reporter: that's nbc's jimmy

fallon addressing it but at nbc news it's no laughing matter after the bombshell announcement on the "today" show. >> our colleague matt lauer has been terminated by this network. >> reporter: now new allegations are coming to light. an explosive article by "variety" describes his alleged pattern of lewd behavior. he once allegedly gave a colleague a sex toy as a present accompanied by an explicit note. another female employee says lauer dropped his pants in front of her in his office exposing himself. and this morning "the new york times" reports two more women have come forward with claims. one of the women says lauer summoned her to his office in 2001 and had sex with her. she tells "the new york times" she felt helpless because he didn't want to lose her job. >> that's all we kept hearing from multiple sources that the problem with matt lauer is he had so much power that nobody wanted to speak up. >> reporter: just two months ago lauer grilled bill o'reilly after he was fired. >> but think about those five

unequivocally that prior to monday night current nbc news management was never made aware of any complaints about matt lauer's conduct. meanwhile, geraldo rivera is apologizing for his initial reaction to matt lauer's firing. he said it's a flirty business and said the current harassment allegations are criminalizing courtship. another media personality is out of a job this morning after being accused of misconduct. minnesota public radio has cut ties with humanist garrison keillor. he's the retired host of "the prairie home companion" airing on hundreds of public radio stayi stayings across the country. keillor claims he mistakenly put his hand on the bare back of a co-worker while trying to console her. he says he apologized. well, the senate candidate roy moore who is facing his own sexual misconduct allegations is now leading in three new polls in alabama. with 12 days until the election more is five points ahead of doug jones. moore's campaign is targeting

evangelicals by holding rallies in churches across the state. last night moore admitting he has thought twice about this campaign. >> i will tell you that i don't wish this on anyone. if i would have known the lies, the deceit, things i would face in this campaign i would not have gotten into it probably. but when you get into something and god needs you to get into you have no choice but to live these things out in your life. >> following that speech moore avoided reporters by leaving the church in a different vehicle. he has yet to take any questions from reporters covering the campaign about the allegations against him. congressman john conyers is under new pressure to resign this morning. democratic leader nancy pelosi is pressing him to leave office amid new accusations. the latest accuser is his former deputy chief of staff who claims he once put his hand up her dress. meanwhile, conyers' wife is dismissing the accusations and

his lawyer says the congressman is not resigning. and this morning the senate has cleared the way for debate on the republican tax bill, a vote is now expected this week. >> yeah, so "the new york times" is reporting that president trump was pushing for a bigger tax cut for the wealthy but his daughter ivanka reportedly played a role in changing his mind. >> the president is overshadowing his own message on taxes though after retweeting several anti-muslim videos that have ignited outrage overseas. kenneth moton has the details. >> reporter: there are reports at least one of the videos president trump retweeted is to use his favorite phrase fake news but the white house says it doesn't matter insisting the tweets are about national security. this morning, president trump's twitter tension with one of the closest allies to the u.s., trump responding to uk prime minister theresa may who called him out for retweeting a string of inflammatory anti-muslim videos. >> mr. president, why have you

been retweeting anti-muslim videos? >> reporter: the videos originally posted by a french anti-islam ultra nationalist british political group and hey's office said the group britain first seeks to divide communities through their use of hateful narratives which peddle lies and stoke tensions. it is wrong for the president to have done this. trump fired back. theresa may, don't know cuss on me, focus on the destructive radical islamic terrorism that is taking place within the united kingdom. we are doing just fine. no mention of that international backlash at the president's missouri rally. trump worked to sell the gop tax reform plan moving full steam ahead in the senate. >> the senate must pass those tax cuts, bring main street roaring back. >> reporter: senate republicans are still looking for common ground. critics point to independent analysis that says the bill will raise taxes for the poor and give big tax cuts to the wealthy like the president who disagrees

pretty cool. >> yeah. i'd say. overseas right now, north korean leader kim jong-un is vowing to complete the building of his nuclear force, newly released photos and images show this week's launch of the ballistic missile which the north claims can reach anywhere on the u.s. mainland. photos show kim jong-un and his soldiers kel greating the state department officials are now saying in addition to imposing new sanctions the u.s. will work to seize more ships illegally carrying goods into north korea. u.s. ambassador nikki haley is urging china to cut off oil exports to the north and said if war comes the north korean regime will be destroyed. police in europe are now investigating the bizarre poisoning of a war criminal. the former bosnian military commander drank a bottle of poison after being told he'd likely spend the rest of his life in prison and later died. officials are now investigating how he got the poison into the

court in the hague as they examine ways to tighten security. >> amazing video. american airlines promises planes will fly despite concern about a pilot shortage. a computer glitch in the scheduling system is blamed for giving too many pilots vacation during the final two weeks of the year. the pilots union says 15,000 american flights do not have a pilot or co-pilot assigned. but american insists the overtime pay and on call pilots will prevent cancellations. >> you may soon be able to buy the car the same way you pay for your cell phone by paying a monthly charge. volvo says for $600 a month they are taking a look at a program where you can drive the company's new suv and all service and maintenance costs will be covered. they'll even pay the insurance. the service is aimed at improving efficiency and attracting young buyers. coming up a new warning about the flu this season. also ahead a proposal to crack down on school bully, but parents say it punishes the wrong person.

newly released surveillance video shows a deadly explosion inside a cosmetics factory in new york. the blast was accidental and said static electricity caused a flammable liquid to ignite killing one worker. detectives say the gun they recovered is key to their case. howell donaldson makes his court appearance today. the 24-year-old will face four counts of first degree murder. he was arrested after co-workers alerted police that he had a gun. authorities say they've connected that gun to all of the killings. >> the gun is what we needed. the same gun was used in all four murders. that was the bit of information

that we would not release. if you recall we gave a lot of information up front but we did not release that. that firearm was used in all four murders. >> reporter: he denies any involvement in the murders but police say he admits the gun is his. investigators looking for a missing toddler from north carolina are now asking for local citizens to help in the search. 3-year-old mariah woods was last seen sunday. her mother's boyfriend said mariah was woke up around midnight and he told her to go back to bed. by morning time she was gone. police now say a little girl seen in a local walmart surveillance video is not mariah woods. parents in florida say they're outraged over a bill that would give vouchers to children who are bullied to transfer to private school. the legislation aimed at protecting the victims but parents argue it would punish the wrong person. they say children who are bullied should not have to uproot their lives. >> it's a crazy idea. i mean the notion that a bully

is going to then stay at the public school. >> it's utterly ridiculous, yes. >> the plan would cost florida $30 million a year. federal health officials warn this year's flu season could be especially harsh. they're concerned that this year's vaccine may be only 10% effective. 10%. that's because of mismatched flu strains used in making the vaccine. but doctors insist getting a flu shot is better than not getting one. there is a dire new warning about the obesity epidemic. if current trends continue a study predicts 57% of children in the united states will be obese by the time they're 35 years old. the current obesity rate among adults is just under 40%. a visitor to south beach caused quite a stir. take a look at the tiger shark swimming right by a few swimmers there along the shores of miami. the drone operator who is shooting this footage appeared to be the only one who knew it was around for awhile there.

and good morning. 4:27 on this thursday, november 30th. we're all here including frances who is in for alexis today. she's here all week. tip your server. it is a cold morning again. >> yeah, another day with temperatures in the 30s and 40s to start. making it to the 70s in some neighborhoods for one of our warmer days. what to expect when you step out the door, fog forming around novato. half mile visibility in all of your neighborhoods. be careful with that. down to street level and you can see where 101 coming in right there, 37. lucas valley. all those areas, sir frances drake boulevard, all socked in with fog. and the winds are fairly calm if not blowing out of the north. some of that may leak down.

half moon bay, 57. just about the rest of us in our 40s, san ramone, livermore, napa, santa rosa, ukiah in the mid to upper 30s. hi, frances. we're starting off with a map of bay area traffic. it is green and looking good. in the sonoma area there was an early morning fatal accident. highway 116 north of east bonness road. there could be slowness in the area. if you're on 101 out of marin county into san francisco, you can see traffic is light here. you're also good to go across the san mateo bridge. westbound traffic on the right-hand side. and that breaking news from san jose where firefighters had to rescue a man that was trapped inside a car that rolled over on the side of northbound highway 101. i want to show you this video we just got from the scene moments ago and the car there was actually flipped over with its wheels in the air. the vehicle rolled down into a

ditch. you can see it there when we zoom in. and firefighters were out there for nearly half an hour trying to get that man out of the car. he was put onto a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital. no word this hour on his injuries. i will let you know as soon as we get an update. natasha? this morning starts the sixth day of deliberations in the trial of the man accused of killing kate steinle. >> every little detail, every person who walks in and out of the courtroom is scrutinized trying to figure out where the jury could be on that decision making process. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield live for us in san francisco. >> reporter: hi, reggie, a big guessing game here at the courthouse. still no sign of a verdict. jurors are trying to decide the fate of jose ines garcia zarate, a 45-year-old homeless, undocumented immigrant. they can convict him of first or second-degree murder. they can convict him of involuntary manslaughter or, of course, not guilty. another option is a hung jury.

a legal expert we consulted with said that would be unusual. >> a judge will generally try to assist the jury in reaching a verdict, and there are instructions the judge will give if it indicates it's unable to reach a verdict. >> reporter: he is accused of killing kate steinle. she was walking with her father two years ago at pier 14 in san francisco when she was shot in the back and killed. he says he picked up a gun off the ground that he found and that it went off accidentally. prosecutors believe he aimed and fired it on purposes. the jurors for the case got the case last tuesday afternoon but, of course, they had the thanksgiving break. all in all they deliberated for a total of 22 hours. they're due back in court at 9:00 this morning. live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> amy, thank you. you can be the first to know when the verdict is given down by downloading the free abc 7 news app and enabling push
