a busy night of holiday shopped. it happened in the parking lot on the parking lot of 40th street. bullet holes show that several shots were fired. two people were shot, both are in critical condition. one managed to walk to a nearby home depot where an ambulance picked him up, one suspect has been detained. officers recovered three guns in all, it is not clear what led up to the shooting but police say it appears none of the shoppers were rofd. if you are just joining us, welcome. let's get a quick update on your weather and traffic. we start with mike. >> hi, everybody. just a quick side note, i was looking at the winds in l.a., 35 in the valleys and up to 70 miles per hour in the mountains. that's as fast as some of our winds were during our firestorm. here is a look at the temperatures, you can see kind of all over the place because of the winds once again some of us warmer, some of us cooler. it's freezing cold in ukiah, 31, novato 37, gilroy 38. cool spots, 50 in antioch,

ferry, that departure will be in effect until at least spring. we will be back with road work in a few minutes. developing news in the east bay, 3,000 workers striking today and oakland is bracing for a city wide shut down. >> city buildings closed, city programs i should say trans canceled. amy hollyfield with the impact we can expect today. >> reporter: good morning, reggie. they will tart picketing at city hall at 7:00 this morning. this will impact city services but not emergency services. the seiu labor union says it hopes that this strike will help this city realize how important these employees are to oakland's daily life. the mayor says she wants to avoid the strike. she says the city has entered into mediation or agreed to enter into mediation, she says the city has negotiated in good faith for more than seven months, but she says they need more time. union leaders say they are listening, but the strike is scheduled. >> i'm available and can convene

>> unfortunately we are at a place where we have to make some very difficult decisions. >> reporter: parents say there are better solutions. >> they need to ask us as realtors who is moving into the area. they are all families with young children. >> the schools that should be closed are the ones that are performing at the lowest academic level in the district. >> reporter: of the eight schools on the list the consolidation committee will recommend three to five for closure to the school board. the board will make its decision in february. in san jose katie marzullo, abc 7 news. happening today, san francisco transportation leaders scheduled to vote on parking meter surge pricing. hourly rates for each of the city's 30,000 meters would go up or down as demand changes. most meters would top out at 8 bucks an hour, but they could hit $18 an hour for special events. >> no. >> yes. >> officials say the plan is intended to increase the

availability of coveted city parking spaces, particularly in areas and at times where demand is high. happening today, the u.s. supreme court steps into another battle over gay rights. i want to take you live right now -- we just lost our live shot, but we can tell you moments ago there was a long line of people at the supreme court building. the justices will hear arguments in the case of baker who cited religious grounds when he refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. a lower court found his refusal was unlawful discrimination. the baker says it violates his rights to religious freedom and free speech. it is the first involving gay rights since the states ruled that states could not prevent same-sex couples from marrying. president trump praising a move by the supreme court to allow his travel ban to go effect at least for now. it covers people from chad, iran, libya, somalia, yemen and north korea. the high court's ruling may not be the final word on this ban. the federal appeals court in san

francisco and richmond, virginia is lawful. a begun possession conviction against a man -- joée ines garcia zarate lead attorney believes that gun charge conviction is inconsistent with the jury's decision to acquit his client on more serious charges. they accused garcia zarate of intentionally firing at steinle. garcia zarate remains in jail and faces federal immigration charges. san francisco mayor ed lee will be one of dozens of mayors to join former president obama in chicago. they will discuss climate change. this comes after president trump pulled out of the paris climate accord. 36 u.s. mayors expected at the north american climate summit. they man to sign an agreement that lays out how cities plan to reduce green house gas emissions and expand access to public transportation. crews will be cleaning up the mess left behind from strong

winds in the bay area. the branch blocked harrington street for a few hours and nearby homes lost power. neighbors were worried about drivers plowing into the fallen limb before it was removed last night. i had nothing that big fall but i definitely have a lot of limbs and smaller branches in my yard today. here is a look at the king tides today, a couple more days of flooding at the park and ride today, it happens -- well, the king tide peaks at 12:53, tomorrow at 1:43 and then we are finished until the end of the month and then they will start over again. look what the winds are doing, remember yesterday walnut creek was 32 degrees. 52, 20 degrees warmer because that particular sensor happens to be in a windy area. it's 38 right now in sheltered areas like danville and ramone, san ramone, pleasant hill 39, lafayette 36, but we're 50 right now in places like antioch and brentwood, 45 pleasanton and livermore.

from the live desk this morning, one of the women accusing alabama state candidate roy moore of inappropriate sexual behavior says she has new evidence against him. this comes as moore gets a boost of support from the gop just one week before election day. kenneth moton is live in washington with the details. good morning, kenneth. >> reporter: good morning. roy moore is getting a lot of help in this final week. former white house strategist steve bannon will rally with him tonight, a day after president trump's endorsement. >> one week to go until election day in alabama and gop senate candidate roy moore now has a

powerful ally, president trump. the president making the call from air force one to officially endorse moore who is accused of molesting teenage girls. >> this morning the "washington post" claims they interviewed an accuser against moore who he dated when she was 17. the paper says she recently discovered handwritten notes from moore congratulating her from congratulating from high school. moore has denied all allegation all of his accusers. many washington republicans jumped ship. 2012 gop presidential nominee mitt romney tweeted moore and the senate would be a stain on the gop and on the nation. the moore campaign called those comments by romney irresponsible. the rnc is also back in in race providing resources to moore in this final week. friday president trump will rally in the florida panhandle just across from the alabama border. reporting live here in washington this morning, kenneth

moton, abc 7 news. state assembly leaders say they will hire an investigating to look into sexual misconduct claims against assemblyman matt debabnay. two women have come forward to openly accuse him of sexual misconduct. one is a lobbyist who says the assemblyman exposed himself and another says he was her former supervisor. >> i thought make it very clear that i do not want to be here and that there is no misunderstanding so i said several times, no, i will not touch you. >> at events or fundraisers he would eye up women in the room and talk about his conquests, who he had slept with. >> he denies any wrongdoing, he says he looks forward to clearing his name. san francisco supervisors will consider the best way to test delivery robots on city sidewalks. after three companies could be allowed to test them in light industrial areas of the city under strict rules.

without any problems, no delays into san francisco at this hour. we do have some slowing along the san matteo bridge because there is a high wind advisory for that span and that lower causeway section can really get that crossed winds, so be careful there as you make your way towards the highway. you are looking at a 17 to 20 minute drive from 880 over toward 101. filling in over the altamonte where we have a second wind advisory over the altamonte pass. you are looking at a 40 minute drive into dublin pleasanton. we will check back on this and more in a couple minutes. the warriors had an epic come back last night in new orleans, the concern this morning is steph curry. curry as you will see there had a problem on the court in the final minute, he rolled his ankle so he was on crutches after the game. x-rays came back negative, an mri is next. it's unclear how much time curry might have to miss but he

appeared to be in good spirits after the game. the warriors won 125 to 115 and the road trip continues could tomorrow this charlotte. jimmy kim he will's son recovering from a second round of heart surgery. he underwent emergency surgery right after birth. his second was scheduled for october, that had to be postponed because of colds going around the kimmel household. an insurance fraud ring is out of business this morning. the scam investigator said 18 people used to collect on claims. the big story this morning, though, is what is happening in southern california. a major fire there burning out of control. at least 31,000 acres have burned in ventura county since it broke out about 6:30 last night. flames have destroyed about 150 structures. we are watching it live for you throughout the morning.
