probe. mueller's also investigating whether there was possible obstruction involved in trump firing fbi director james comey. >> when you've done nothing wrong, let's be open. and get it over with. >> reporter: sources say the president's legal team has been discussing options in responding to mueller's interview request. >> my guess is his lawyers are going to offer to submit some sort of written statement, something that assures them that he didn't do anything wrong. that's not what mueller wants. >> reporter: sources also tell abc news there's no time frame on when this interview could happen with the president. trump and the legal team are eager for this investigation to end soon. maggie and kendis. >> thanks to kenneth moton there from abc. mitt romney's prognosis is good, we're told, after an aide confirmed the former massachusetts governor battled prostate cancer. romney was diagnosed with that slow-growing form of the disease last summer. it was removed surgically and the aide said the cancer did not spread. the cancer comes amid speculation that romney will run for u.s. senate in utah. ivanka trump has just tweeted her praise for oprah

said when you've done nothing wrong, let's be open and get it over with, what his words. and he is being criticized for an end to special protections for more than 2 million people from el salvador. they're calling it heartless. the announcement sparked protests outside the white house, as parents fear being separated from their american born children and sent back to a homeland plagued by poverty and violence. they have to leave the u.s. or face deportation. a top house republican said he won't be seeking re-election. ed royse chaired foreign affairs committee. top republicans say the tweeted announcement was a shocker. he easily won reelection in 2016, but his district backed hillary clinton. the democratic party believes it can win his seat. history overseas. the first same-sex marriages were performed at midnight
