there's no doubt that he will do it again. warning tonight after an assault on a usually safe trail. how walnut creek police are on the look out for an attacker. police have asked for your help in finding a man who attacked a woman on the wild horse trail in walnut creek. katie eunice has the details and photos officers want to you see. >> reporter: investigators want to talk with the man seen in this surveillance photo. he may be the person who attacked a woman and attempted to sexually assault her around 5:30 thursday night. >> she was pushed to the ground and dragged a short while on the trail. >> happened near whole foods on south broadway. police say this is the area where the attack happened. it is dark and there are lots of bushes. the main trail is lighted and people tell me they are surprised the attack happened

here. >> we walk this stretch of the trail all the time. that's quite upsetting. we don't often hear of things like that around here. >> police say the man tried to kiss the woman and made threats during the attack. >> the intent was clear from the investigation that it was sexually assault motivated. >> for some reason he stopped. then ran north on broadway. the woman suffered from scrapes and bruises. >> we have actually done this trail many times during lunch time. and it seems just fine and safe and wouldn't think twice about walking it during lunch time. >> police want people to think twice about walking the trail alone. >> if this individual had the audacity to do this tonight or last night, there's no doubt he will do it again. >> if you recognize this man, contact east bay regional park district police. in walnut creek, abc 7 news. >> new at 11:00, wack backer is out of jail.

doggy day cares and kennels to temporarily shut down to keep it contained. abc 7 news visited one of the dog care facilities that's been impacted. >> willow, playful lab, started coughing this morning. she went to doggy day care this morning but they immediately sent her to a veterinarian. >> we are are crazy with patients with the flu, so it is a big concern. when i came here, now my dog has the flu, and it is, it is a little disconcerting to think, because it is serious. >> canine influenza is very contagious. it is hard to detect because a dog can have the flu but symptoms don't show up until a few days later. dr. dave reed owns an animal hospital. they are treating many dogs. >> i would say 20 at this point. and dr. johnson who is over there right now administering to them had two more positive cases today.

so this really is a severe problem. >> many kennels and dog care facilities in the area closed today because of the outbreak. at dr. dave's, signs are posted alerting dog owners of the symptoms which include fever, cough and loss of appetite. >> dr. daves is shutting down his dog ogy day care for at lea a week. when it reopens, they will only take dogs that have been vaccinated. it is a series of two shots a few weeks apart and takes time for it to work. willow is on antibiotics and will avoid contact with other dogs. >> we will keep her at home and take good care of her. >> most dogs recover but in rare case he it can lead it pneumonia and death. >> good samaritan who saved a woman from being hit by a cal train in sunnyvale yesterday says he did what any responsible person would do. walter wilson pulled a woman out of her prius that had become immobilized on the tracks at
