telling abc 7 news they hope to have fulton street open by this morning's commute. any moment now. it took firefighters about 40 minutes to contain this fire on fulton street overnight. shortly after 3:00 firefighters arrived in the 1200 block of fulton. that's fulton and divisadero. the flames spread to a victorian next door. four people and an infant in the second building were displaced. the red cross is taking care of them now. no firefighters or civilians were hurt in the fire. back to you. jessica, thank you. parents and teachers dreaded this news. three elementary schools in san jose are shutting down. >> reporter janine de la vega is live at del roble elementary with the story and what will happen to the students. janine? >> reporter: matt, the oak grove school district knows this will make a lot of people sad, some even angry.

administrators say they had do it. the schools that will be closed will be del roble, miner and glider elementary. all will close after the school year. district officials say they were forced to make this difficult decision because the district is struggling financially. it's experienced a decrease in enrollment over the last decade. the district had eight schools to choose from over the last several months. numerous community forums were held and a committee listened to concerns from parents and children. in the end, the district says it was a difficult decision and will focus on helping families and staff make a transition to their new schools. in a newsletter from the superintendent, he says "i understand this will take time and that a profound sadness will be felt with the closing of schools. we are all committed to doing all we can to make these changes as smooth as possible." . in the coming months, the families will be receiving letters telling them what their new school will be for the coming school year and then after enrollment is finalized,

when she woke up, she found a man touching her thigh and openly touching himself. >> she posted about it on twitter and says the supportive responses she received convinced her to finally go to police. the san francisco police officers association is criticizing the current use of force policy after an officer on bike patrol was hit by a car. the undercover officer was attempting to arrest two suspects involved in a car break-in, in alamo square. one officer struck the car while trying to escape. the officer suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. association president martin hol ran says it's frustrating to sfpd officers, that it prohibits us from shooting at a suspect vehicle even if the suspect is trying to kill or seriously injure innocent civilians or officers. in october, officer tank he will suffered a critical head injury after being hit while on bike patrol. the use of force policy was changed in 2016 after a series

of officer-involved shootings. the search continues for the driver who hit a deputy with his car. the officer was trying to pull over a man for speeding in hayward when the driver put the car in reverse, hit the deputy's motorcycle and sped away. the deputy fired his weapon at the man but authorities don't know if he was wounded. berkeley police warning the community now to be on alert following a strong armed robbery. four people were robbed of laptops on wednesday night around 8:30 p.m. police don't have detailed descriptions of the suspects. the victims were not hurt. let's head down to the south bay. we've got a temperature of 50 in san jose. a lot of mid to upper 40s in the valley itself. you start to get on the edges, you can see milpitas. los altos hills and los gatos at 61 degrees. 55 right now in alameda. san francisco. san pablo, 57. danville and livermore about 45. brentwood, 57 degrees. 52 in novato.
