winds above 1,000 feet. that's what is fuelling the mild temperatures. your planner today calls for 40s and 50s to start out. low 60s by noontime. another day of record warmth is possible with mid to upper 70s around the bay. a mild night tonight. i'll let you know what's in the seven-day outlook in a few minutes. developing news in pleasant hill where a lock down end after an unsuccessful search for a gunman. last night at 10:30 police received calls of a manwaring camouflage parents a black bulletproof vest and carrying an assault tile rifle. officers saw the suspect sealed in an area and issued a lockdown order. all residents were told toll stay inside and lock their windows and doors. a s.w.a.t. team was called in to search an apartment building on boyd road but the suspect was not located. this morning, health officials are confirming that

four additional deaths in the bay area are flu related. and with the flu outbreak being the most severe in years there is an important warning for the millions of americans headed to a super bowl party. there is concern those parties this weekend could spread the virus even more. abc7 news reporter katie utehs has the story. >> this is the most severe season we've seen in years. >> reporter: sonoma county has seen 12 severe influenza cases, two fatal. the death is being blamed for the death of two men in ma raga last month. >> the cdc is reporting the most hospitalizations for the flu since 2005. it's here and it's real. >> reporter: with so many people gathering this weekend to watch the super bowl. both the centers for disease control and the red cross are running safety campaigns. wash your hands. make sure food is properly heated. >> don't double dip. >> reporter: while your neighbor's nachos may be

ano nuevo. crews are searching by boat and by air. in san francisco, newly released surveillance video shows a car break-in that turned into a violent assault and officers say they could have been killed. alyssa harrington shows us what happened. >> reporter: what started as a car break in quickly spiralled into a violent confrontation between police and suspects. watch as officers draw their guns and the driver runs over his accomplice and a cop. [ bleep ]. >> reporter: this happened year alamo square park on thursday. surveillance video shows two gentlemen wearing hoodies enter a black sedan. they smash a window and grab a bag. what they didn't know is three uncover police officers were watching them. the officers move in to make arrests and tackle one of the

suspects to the ground. >> reporter: the driver suspect put his vehicle into reverse subsequently striking the officer and his accomplice that were down on the ground. >> reporter: the driver then pulls forward and hits them again. >> this is a stark reminder that sfpd officers face on a daily basis. >> reporter: all three were arrested and charged with attempted homicide. meanwhile the police officer association is criticizing the use of force policy, which prohibits officers from firing at a suspect in a moving vehicle. in san francisco, alyssa harrington abc7 news. a family is in mourning after a missing dog was found dead with his legs die tied with rope. he ran away. police found him dead on thursday. police say someone tied his feet and threw him out of a window while drive on the freeway. police are looking for a suspect but have not released any details. residents are finally back in their homes after a tree fell

and ruptured a natural gas line in newark. the gas leak forced a town house complex to be evacuated late yesterday afternoon. sky 7 flew above the scene on joaquin marietta avenue near cherry street as a pge crew made repairs. after nearly three weeks a chp officer who was hit by a suspected drunk driver is out of the hospital. chp tweeted video of the officerlying the hospital in walnut creek yesterday. his legs were crushed in the crash. since then he has had multiple surgeries and undergone a grueling physical therapy schedule. he hopes to make a full recovery and return to work. we are hearing from the man what accidentally issued a missile warning in hawaii. he claims he never was told it was an exercise. >> it was 100% real. i did what i was train to do as

person that person was jasmine owe abuseland who was a teenager at the time. smith had sex with her in exchange for the information. auto desk has had off 157 employees in san francisco and marin county as part of what's being called a restructuring plan. the numbers amount to 13% of auto desk's work force. the company's ceo insisted back in november when the cuts were announced that the restructuring was not cost reducing activity. auto desk is transitioning to perpetual software licenses to software subscriptions and cloud computing services. san francisco voters might get to decide if police officers will be allowed to carry tasers. a group called safe neighborhoods for all says it collected more than enough signatures to put a measure on the ballot in the june primary. san francisco's department of elections received those petitions yesterday. it now must count the signatures. the city's police commission

already approved letting officers carry tasers. but the delay has coming up with a policy on their use. police union leaders have pushed for officers to carry tasers for several years. a dispute in the north bay fire zone has a yearbook teacher pressuring a local business for a refund, to no avail. but student fire victims get their money back? that's the question. leslie brinkley has both sides of the story. >> i don't think that we've had a pleasant experience, to say the least. >> reporter: santa rosa high school yearbook teacher jessica dennis signed her 32 students up for what she thought would be a class bonding experience last october. a ropes course. it cost $1920. the group did fund raising to come up with the money. then there were the fires. seven of her students lost their homes. many were evacuated and missed three weeks of school. she had to cancel the ropes class and got refunded half of it. but the team building business

57 in mountainview. this time of year we should see highs in the upper 50s. we are looking at more record warmth over the weekend. mid to upper 70s. warm with a sunny pattern continuing through next week. and no storms on the horizon for the next two weeks. that's right. as we look at the high temperatures today, and the records, you can see that we are certainly in the realm of breaking them. today, mid visits to upper invests san jose. 7 santa rosa. forecasted 76 in livermore. here are the record. low 70s back in the '80s and '90s. it looks like once again it's going to be an awfully warm day. if we look at february, it's only the second day of february. but our forecast models go about two weeks out. and the yellow indicating the dry days that we are pretty sure about right through the 18th of february. so after that hopefully we can look at some rain but it looks pretty consistent that this ridge is not going to break down.

we have one to two fires a day and when you respond together and you put your lives on the line, you do have to surround yourself with experts. and for us the expert in gas and electric is pg&e. we run about 2,500/2,800 fire calls a year and on almost every one of those calls pg&e is responding to that call as well. and so when we show up to a fire and pg&e shows up with us it makes a tremendous team during a moment of crisis. i rely on them, the firefighters in this department rely on them, and so we have to practice safety everyday. utilizing pg&e's talent and expertise in that area

good morning east bay. let's get up and get going. >> this is abc7 mornings. >> thanks for being with us. i'm chris nip. we are starting this half hour with a quick look at the weather. here's meteorologist lisa argen. >>. we are mild this morning. in fact as we look at some of the numbers here. in the east bay starting out with 40s, 50s, even 60s. it depends on your elevation and the wind. so it is a big variety this morning with low 60s from pacifica to san carlos, low 40s with fog in santa rosa and napa. 53 in san jose. so yeah, what month is it anyway, right in the with 14 to eight degrees warmer than yerm from livermore to half moon day. seven degrees cooler in santa rosa. we have calm winds and temperatures near the dew point in the north bay. upper elevation winds are still quite gusty, 20 to 30 even 35 miles an hour in the hills. at 7:00 we will be well into the

republican written memo from the house intelligence committee as justifies for firing rosen styne or robert mueller it would spark a constitutional crisis. adam schiff says this partisan memo cherry picks information. >> it's really a completely reckless abuse of the classification process. >> reporter: and president trump's own fbi director told the president the memo contains inaccurate information. but the president decided to release it anyway. >> i think it's terrible. if you want to know the truth, i think it is a disgrace what's going on in this country. >> reporter: the memo argue has the fbi and department of justice used information from christopher steele's unsubstantiated dossier to obtain a fisa warrant to surveil carter page. >> they got a warptd on someone in the trump campaign using opposition research paid for by the democratic party and the hillary clinton campaign. that's what this is about. and it's wrong.

immediately. wayne passely was accused of sexually harassing three subordinates at the society in 2005. the directors had just acted to keep him as ceo the day before after finding the evidence wasn't supported by credible evidence. but he said the controversy had taken its toll and he decided to tep down. yesterday california lawmakers publicly revealed ten years worth of sexual harassment actizations. dozens of files named elected officials and their staffers. unnamed reports name four current office holders including public assembly member travis allen who is also running for governor. they detail pt complaints, 62 involving the assembly, and 17 more linked to the state senate. one local lawmakers admits the legislature wasn't doing things right in dealing with harassment. >> we have changed our procedure as we have an outside independent investigation that happens when someone makes a complaint. and we're committed to being

through next week. no strong storms, no storms at all on the horizon for the next two weeks. that's a long time. that takes us beyond the middle of the month as we look at oakland in particular. the average high is 59. today we are going to 74. a weak weather system arrives tomorrow. that allows for temperatures to drop off just a fewist degrees. monday and tuesday it looks cooler but this is still well above average n the mid 60s. and then the numbers actually come up as the ridge rebounds into the milled of next week. so santa rosa, one of the warmer locations. the north end of the bay. the south end of the bay. 59 is the average high. upper 70s today. 75. slight cooling as we get through the early part of the week. and then notice, it's still going to be very mild out there. in the south bay today, 77 in "gma." look for 75 for milpitas and sunnyvale. mid 70s for san mateo. we talked about the coast. a very mild afternoon.
