mass transit cool to warm and light breezes if you're on the bay. let's find out more about that commute. here's sue. >> we're looking pretty good at this hour. we had some filming on the bay bridge. that is really light at this time as far as trafficwise. but it's kind of exciting. they're filming a movie. doing some round robin stoppages after the toll plaza. maybe making you wait about a minute or so and letting you go after they're done filming and coming back around eastbound and doing it all over again. we don't know what time it wraps up, but i imagine it will be shortly as the commute gets under way. a little bit of slowing for the right and left cash paying lanes. otherwise, traffic is moving well in the area. good morning everyone. this is just into our live desk. iraqi government officials now confirming the draw-down of u.s. forces from iraq. it's all according to the associated press. iraqi officials reportedly say american troops will start to

leave the country after the defeat of the islamic state. in fact, the a.p. is reporting dozens of american troops left on daily flights over the last week. i should note, though, that despite the claims that isis is defeated in iraq, it remains a major regional and international problem. jessica, thank you. a new report blames pg&e power lines for sparking two small fires in santa rosa during the north bay wildfires. this new report comes from the city of santa rosa fire department. the report says the fires were ignited on october 8th separate from the larger fires that swept through the city. investigators say strong winds caused the power lines to arc and that sent sparks into dry grass and bushes which started the fires. one of the fires destroyed two homes and the other damaged an outbuilding. pg&e declined to comment on this new report, but it said the

state hasn't determined a cause. $250,000 to settle the lawsuit which claimed that she was wrongly blamed for a passenger on a plane crash. that happened in july of 2013. a 16-year-old girl was killed who was run over by a fire rig. firefighter elise duct was behind the wheel. duck et claimed she was made a scapegoat for that death and claimed it was another rig that ran over the teenager's, not hers. she will receive $250,000 to settle the suit. the board of supervisors still has to approve that settlement. san francisco police are on the lookout for a driver who hit one of their officers. this happened as police investigated a theft at the walgreens in west borough square. police were talking to a man when the driver took off, hitting an officer. the injuries were minor.

investigators found the bmw later and it turned out to be stolen. san francisco police investigating a stabbing near mcdonald's on bay shore boulevard. officers got to the scene yesterday afternoon to find a man had been stabbed in the neck. he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. no one in custody but a possible suspect may have led down oakdale avenue. a girl is recovering from a dog attack that happened on sunday morning on the trail at point pinole regional shoreline. the owner was walking a pit bull on a leash when it snatched the girl and dragged her to the ground. she has bites to her and and scratches as well. the dog is in custody of animal control. a switch in the wrong position appears to be the cause of a deadly head-on train collision in south carolina. the amtrak train heading from new york to miami crashed into a freight train early yesterday morning killing two people and hurting at least 116 others near kayce. a gps-based system called

tahoe where you can see they're not making snow right now. they're not relying on mother nature in the afternoon hours either. look at these temperatures. our average high is 43. we'll get near record highs by friday when we hit 60. look at the dry cold front dropping us back into the 40s. no snow with that, unfortunately. uc berkeley spent nearly $4 million on free speech events in the span of one month last year. from august 27th to september 27th, university police spent the money on three events. an appearance by conservative commentator ben shapiro and events related to free speech week which ended up being canceled. two mountain lion sightings. one on wildwood lane saturday night and the second on sutter avenue an hour and a half later. it's not clear if the same animal was spotted twice or if there were two different

mountain lions. the locations are about a mile and a half apart. one witness walked us through how she reacted. >> we were shocked initially. wow, look at that. i started to honk really loud to make it run. it actually went through the neighbor's yard through the front of our yard and went in the backyard of ours. it made my daughter very scared because she'd never seen anything like that. >> these are the first sightings reported in palo alto in six months. happening today, former usa gymnastics doctor, larry nassar will get a third and final sentence involving more than 260 victims. he'll be sentenced on three sexual assault charges today. he was sentenced last week to 40 to 175 years in prison in a separate but related case. in december, a federal judge sentenced him to 60 years on child pornography charges. he's being forced to listen to statements from dozens of his victims. you remember on friday, he was almost attacked by a man whose three daughters say they were

molested. civil rights icon rosa parks would have turned 105 this weekend. to pay tribute to her life and legacy, a transit agency placed signs on seats at the front of most of their buses. here's a story from our sister station in sacramento. >> i looked at that sign and for a moment i paused. it made a difference in my life today. she's a wife, mother, hard worker. for her to take that stance against having to sit in back of the bus, she took that step that all of us today should take in what we believe in. >> it's thanks to rosa parks bravely standing up for equal rights when she took that famous ride back in 1955 that esther says she doesn't have to sit in the back because of the color of her skin. >> we're not sitting in back of the bus. today i'm in the middle of the bus at a window seat. it's amazing. i'm impressed.

weather forecast. here's mike nicco. >> take a look at the big picture on live doppler 7. you can see we're getting flanked from the north by a weak cold front. that's going to push extra clouds into our neighborhood. also going to push the warmest weather down to the south, at least temporarily for today. let's see what it does to our temperatures. we're still? the low to mid-70s about everywhere. from oakland to santa rosa and concord. san jose at 74. 72 at san mateo. richmond, san francisco and half moon bay about 69 degrees. in fact shall let's look at the east bay. we start off at 50 at 7:00. at noon, we're 63. about 61 at 4:00. seems a little chilly, doesn't it? especially when you look at these highs. maybe somebody was messing with the computer models. we're going to top out in the low to mid-70s along the east bay shore. i'll check that 4:00 temperature. 59 degrees at 7:00. let's go to the north. these look a little more reasonable.

slick roads in the nation's midsection causing numerous crashes including a huge pileup that closed part of the missouri interstate. this was taken by a volunteer fire department in missouri. numerous cars and big rigs lost traction near marshfield. the road will be closed all night. as early as tomorrow, spacex could launch the newest, biggest and most powerful rocket. the falcon heavy. the $90 million rocket will be capable of carrying really big satellites into orbit and even sending spacecraft to the moon and mars. this will be the first test flight. it will be carrying a red tesla roadster which could be the first car ever launched into space. it's the day after the biggest sporting event in the country and millions of americans plan to call out sick. >> are you one of these people? in a survey by mucinex, 14
