[ cheers and applause ] >> i know. >> how are you? >> hello. >> what's the occasion? >> i was speaking at a conference and i flew over here. >> no way. it's so good to see you. >> i can't believe, why are we on camera? >> did you just win a regional emmy with the documentary for the medical team in haiti. >> yes, two for the project. >> that must have been an amazing journey for you. >> well as you guys know, i have been through a lot since i left the show two and a half years ago. after my mother passed away, my perspective on everything changed, and i decided to walk toward something that had a lot of purpose for me, so i went to haiti. jack chapman, who is a brilliant

filmmaker, who i met here "right this minute" joined me on this journey and we ended up just documenting what it was like to follow his medical team around through a third world hospital and doing house calls and really getting to know the people of haiti. you get there, and you start to see their lives through their eyes. i have never in my life met people with more generosity of spirit and more compassion and more joy to win an emmy for a project from the heart, i don't even know how to begin to think about that. i call it a god wink, god winking saying you're doing the right thing. >> what kind of impact did this documentary have then on the people there? >> it helped raise funds for the organization give hope global. what they're doing is putting community health workers on the ground there. it's about creating sustainable life for the people in that community. it takes a little more than $1,300 a year to fund a health worker. >> how can folks help? >> go to givehopeglobal.org and

sponsor children at the orphanage, you can go on a trip. >> what are you doing now? you did this amazing documentary. you won your emmy. what are you up to now? >> motivational speaker and i've been speaking to groups about purpose and about finding your passion and following it. >> are you going back? >> yes, i'm hoping to go back soon and shoot a longer version, a full half an hour. >> you're going for the oscar now? >> oscars. >> she's not going anywhere. she's staying here. >> i miss you guys so much. >> how long have you been gone? >> two and a half years, three years this summer. >> people are still asking about you on our facebook page. thank you for dropping by and updating us and everybody else out there. >> you guys are my family still. >> well they miss you and we miss you. >> no one was injured. >> dang. >> this could have been deadly.. >> the fire department was called in and when they got there, they found another one of those tanks was leaking. they are examining the tank to figure out what exactl wrong. >> you will not believe, you see that guy there getting some gas something to fire bomb a restaurant. is in taiwan. this man identified as 37-year-old tsai. the good news is the restaurant wasn't consumed, only a few chairs got burned. police came and arrested him and when started talking to him, he admitted he fire bombed the place. he said "i live next door. i go to bed at night and i can't

sleep, people come out of there loud, get drunk and i decided to do this." his family told the media and press he had an accident a while ago and sometimes abuses alcohol. the owner of the restaurant felt sorry for tsai and didn't press charges. only that, he gave the family money and tsai said he promised to curtail his drinking. >> wow, what a beautiful turn of events to something that could have been completely different. it looks like a black eye, people ask if i got in a fight. that has made me feel not normal. now i feel like there was a purpose me to have this. >> this is julia. she was born with a birthmark and she said up until recently she used to cover it up. so much so that her best friend never knew she had it. >> my parents took me to the doctors to find out if the birthmark was cancerous. i put the name of it on social media and someone messaged me,

it's hyperpigmentation in my skin. >> somewhere around 18 years old she decided to start using derma blend. >> i was happy because i never thought i would find a makeup that would make my skin look even and derma blend made me feel like myself. >> it's an interesting concept because the makeup empowered her to go bare face much more often. >> just the other day i didn't have it on at all and the first time my brother-in-law saw my birthmark. felt confident to sh because anybody can see who i am. i don't need to hide it from anybody. at the end of the day all about herself and she says it helps her do that. >> i feel beautiful just being myself. makeup is just a choice. doesn't make me who i am. when you're able to be authentic, you look mo beautiful. it's a slack liner's heaven. >> did you do today? next "righ" and still to come, these guys are aiming to find out --

they have to take her to their trauma center. >> poor thing, you can't see its eyes. can it even open its mout >> i'm not even sure i she's a fur. >> they take it off in some parts in one giant piece. it looked like she had a fur coat on. >> that's awful and that had to happen for this dog to be saved and life. >> sadly that is what happened with her and they had her when they cut off the hair from her feet and paws, nearly two pounds she loses. she's already starting to look completely different, but this one really needs a bath. she's laying there like, what are doing to me? it's obviously been years since she had one. >> wow, the world is suddenly in hd because she can see. >> and move. >> humans arev they used to look like. she's gotten a bath and a sweater. she lost a lot of fur.
