>> and i am dion lim. the department of justice. >> that was supposed to be the job of the u.s. department of justice in washington until president trump decided to stop community policing. >> reporter: you know, it was the san francisco police department that told the department of justice in washington you know, if you don't want to help us anymore, we will look to california for guidance. now this is the first agreement of its kind between a police department and a state attorney general. in the past few years, san francisco has seen a series of officer involved shootings. when mario woods was shot more than 20 times by having to make changes to the use of force policy.

afternoon. near shoreline boulevard, causing traffic to back up in the eastbound direction. the extent of the injuries are not known. drugs and alcohol are not factors in the crash. and the driver who hit the police officer is cooperating with investigators. witnesses calling a man a hero tonight after he helped others escape from their burning cars. a fiery scene at fountain parkway and mendocino avenue. a dump truck lost its brakes. fire erupted when the truck hit other vehicles. a driver who just missed being hit ran from car to car helping people escape this morning's inferno a few months after his own home was lost in the fire. >> chaos, debris, pops.

i made it through the intersection and i heard a boom. >> scarey stuff. the out of control truck hit nine other vehicles. six of them caught fire and six people needed to go the hospital. arson investigators in san jose are trying to figure out why someone would set a fire that destroyed a mobile health center that brought curbside services to the abc7 news reporter david louie has the story? san jose. >> reporter: san jose fire investigators say a suspected arson is one of two such units that provided checkups immunizations to nearly 3,000 homeless patients yearly. >> the unit goes out at least once a week and we do have a doctor and a medical assistant

that are on that unit providing services. so it is a setback and we do need to get this replaced as soon as possible. >> reporter: the challenge is cost. the estimateds to build a new one is $250,000. >> i am going it see what my office personally what i can do to help off set some of the costs. i think it is worth exploring to see what the city can do or the county can do. >> reporter: concern that 500 people will lose medical care for six months or longer. >> one automobile unit is going to be impacted and our cathedral unit will be impacted as well. i think people are going to go untreated. >> reporter: serving the uninsured and medical patients

. hard to believe, but this week marks four months since the start of the north bay wildfires. this is what is left of the journey's end mobile home park in santa rosa. homeowners facing nonrenewal of their home insurance after the north bay wildfires may get help. "7 on your side" michael finney takes a look at this issue.

>> on the one month anniversary of the fire i reported on homeowners were concerned their insurance could be canceled due to high fire risk. here is what happened since then. >> state senator heard some of the same thing we were hearing. 45-day notices from their insurance companies that their policies would not be renewed. >> i knew it would be coming because my dear brent also received the same notice. >> i think it is concerning when of course something like this happens and automatically canceled. >> reporter: he proposed a bill that would require a insurance to renew a one year policy at least twice after a home has
