forced to evacuate. the passengers delayed for hours in orange county, are finally headed to san jose. in fact, they're in the air right now. >> for the latest on this developing news, right away let's get to our reporter. katie? >> reporter: that arrival time keeps getting pushed back, but the plane should be landing here in an hour, which makes it four hours late. the trouble started when the plane was pushing back from the gate. the ground crusade there was a fire in the black of the and 139 passengers and five crew members all had to use the slides to get off the plane. fire and rescue crews were waiting for them when they did. but the airport tweeted there were a few minor injuries, but nobody had to go to the hospital. one passenger posted her

morning. deputies arrested a man and woman, both 19, in modesto, based on the information the victim provided before she died at the hospital. no word on a motive. tonight, san jose's police chief is trying to reassure members of a latino community concerned about immigration policy. >> really awful stories that you hear from some of these families. it's important for them to understand that the members of this police department are not the enemy. >> the chief said he received positive feedback from the community after speaking at the sacred heart of jesus parish on sunday. he said he will assure people that san jose police do not enforce federal immigration laws. in a move that civil rights groups say could endanger transgender students, the education department will no longer investigate complaints from those students over the use of bathrooms matching their gender identity that's contrary to a mandate by the obama

administration that directed public schools to allow students to use bathrooms that aleaned with their gender identity. president trump plans to spend $1.5 trillion to fix america's aging roads and infrastructure, but only a fraction of that money will come from the federal government. from thehe president's plan cal states, local governments and even private companies to invest in projects nationwide. president trump also intends to speed up the permitting process. president trump's proposal light put projects like california's high speed rail system at risk. right now, the state believes high speed rail will cost $64 billion. the president's budget leaves only $20 billion to spend nationwide for major transit projects. if you are tired of junk mail, a california lawmaker would expand the do-not-call list to snail mail.

south african police believe a man killed by lions was a poacher. they found his remains next to a hunting rifle and ammunition. police are trying to identify him and are hopeful they can because of the lions leaving his head. lions are often hunted in the region for traditional medicine and art in asia. the queen has decreed no more plastic. queen elizabeth has outlined a new plan to eliminate mrs. take cups and straws at all royal properties. even the public cafes attached will have to use compostable or biodegradable cups. love is in the air. and cannabis advocates are hoping it will mean money in their pockets. now that pot is legal, they are anticipating many people will ditch the flowers and chocolate for weed on valentine's day.
