agency at the gates just outside the nsa. we've watched as the authorities have searched a black suv that appears to have rammed into a barrier near an entrance to the nsa. we now know at least one person was hurt. we don't know the extent of those injuries or that person's eye debit. the nsa located at ft. meade, it's an army base in maryland located between d.c. and baltimore. back to you. >> jessica, thank you. we are hearing from worried parents and students after ten kids got sick at school from a substance. one of the middle school students was in critical condition. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live at james lick middle school. >> reporter: hi, reggie. the kids are expected to be okay. here's a look at yesterday afternoon, you'll see a kid being wheeled over to an ambulance by a medical crew. ten kids got sick. this happened about 1:20 yesterday afternoon at james lick middle school in san francisco. police have not said what the

killed in august. the suspected shooter was in the u.s. illegally wearing an i.c.e. tracking device and used an unsecured gun stolen from an officer's personal vehicle. that officer remains on duty pending the outcome of this investigation. when they're not fighting fires on the frontlines, crews from cal fire occasionally set fires. they're prescribed burns carefully coordinated with landowners. this is one of them in santa cruz yesterday. the bay area has n s major wildfire this year. but with the current dry spell, cal fire is worried sniemgt the big goals of a burn like thrks a prescribed burn, is one, is the fuel reduction. if the fire were to start or come into this area, there's not as much fuel that is right next to each other. ment here's the forecast map. southern california already at above normal risk for significant wildfire potential. by april and may, this map shows

we'll give up sunshine and warmth in our forecast for this valentine's day. here's a look from the roof camera. the clouds will increase and the highs decrease thanks to a cold front. it's a fast mover. the clouds will clear out tonight and that will lead to a chilly night. the north bay mountains, it will be breezy once again. blustery conditions early next week. but potential arctic air mass. some of the coldest weather so far this season. here's a look at what's going on. you can see the storm really bringing nice significant snow and rain to the pacific northwest but noaa says we get the tail end of it. the snow is starting to shrink. the gray, those are the clouds coming in. #abc 7 now for the sunrise. most of our temperatures warmer down in the south bay. 63 to 64 degrees. now, as far as the north bay, you can see the cloud cover and the temperatures around 33 degrees at 7:00. 57 at noon. even with a lack of clouds by 4:00, you're still at 57. 350 at 7:00. you'll top out around 56 at bodega bay to 61 in napa.

as far as what's going to happen tonight. you can see the temperatures in the 30s just about everywhere inland. palo alto. low to mid-40s for the bay and the coast. temperatures rebound quickly with sunshine and calmer conditions. near 70 saturday. that's it. that next front comes in sunday. then we'll be watching for freezing cold temperatures monday and tuesday morning and highs only in the 50s. it will be breezy too. sue? >> let's go back to the ferry. they have canceled the service of the golden gate ferry due to mechanical issues. they're asking you to take tiburon or larkspur from marin county this morning. the golden gate bridge commute also looks good so far. just a heads-up for that. san mateo bridge, you can see on the right shoulder there, that blinking big rig, the hazard lights are on. that is a stall. there's possibly an accident involved there. it's off to the right-hand shoulder. as you can see, traffic is slow and go with brake lights past the scene.

no proposal seems to have the 60 votes of support needed to advance the proposal to the senate. lawmakers have hoped to reach a last minute agreement by the end of the week. congress is trying to negotiate a plan to continue to modify daca. president trump announced last september that the program would end on march 5th. happening today, family and friends of a san jose father detained because he's undocumented will hold a protest of his supporters iate release. rallying last month. he was taken into i.c.e. custody in october after he dropped off his daughter at daycare. demonstrators plan to gather outside of i.c.e. offices in san francisco at noon. his family picked valentine's day, they say, to remind those detained or deported that they are loved. he's a star on the basketball court and now kevin durant will be a star on tv. apple is developing a drama series based on durant's life and career. according to variety, it's titled swagger. it's inspired by his play when

stopped around 7:40 last night. the suspect ran away, leading to a chase. officers say the officer shot and killed the suspect after a violent physical struggle. they say that the officer fired his gun in self-defense. the officer was pronounced dead at the scenement he has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. happening today, the two people suspected of killing a 19-year-old woman and leaving her for dead on the side of a rural road are scheduled to make their first court appearance. lizette cuesta spoke the names of her suspected killers before she died. >> matt keller live at her high school in east san jose. matt? >> reporter: good morning. lizette cuesta graduated from silver creek high school in san jose in 2016. her presence is still being felt here in the city as her friends and family held a vigil for her last night. >> just a really genuine person. that's something that i will always remember about her. i'm sure everybody else will

and then questioned by fbi agents. he now claims that the incident caused him to suffer severe mental and emotional distress. berkeley is taking action to protect cannabis users and businesses from the federal government. the city council passed a resolution declaring berkeley a sanctuary city for legal marijuana. the resolution banned city agencies from using money to enforce federal marijuana laws. they're also banned from turning over information on legal cannabis activities to federal agents. >> i think we're lucky to be in a city that is such a staunch defender of what we're doing and supporting progressive policies in the face of adversity. >> in january, attorney general jeff sessions rescinded an obama-era policy that barred federal law enforcement from interfering with marijuana sales in states where pot is legal. the berkeley measure doesn't prevent the police department from collaborating with federal agents on non-pot-related crimes. danville police trying to
