on flights from the east coast. >> many passengers have been landing late. 19 flights on their way here from the northeast have made unscheduled stops halfway across the country because of significant headwinds. a mane from jfk airport in newark had to touchdown in denver for nearly an hour to refuel. >> i have never experienced that. the pilot said he's been here ten years and this is his first stopover. >> it was slow. like driving a car up a steep hill and you're flooring it. >> overnight, high wind advisories were issued. >> likely brought down scaffolding at a san francisco construction site. abc 7 news was at church and market yesterday as they checked out the aftermath. the scaffolding came down after 3:00 p.m. fortunately, no one was hurt. >> it's now 4:30. let's get a quick update on weather and traffic. mike? >> let's take a look at the winds. i've plotted them on live

doppler 7. 23 mile per hour gusts at half moon bay. 123 at concord. 12 at -- the rest of us at 10 miles per hour. we'll be in the 10 to 20 miles per hour range, all throughout the day today as that cold air continues to rush in behind that cold front we had yesterday. waking up this morning, temperatures will stay in the 30s. it will feel like the 20s with the windchill. dress properly. we'll be near 50. that's it at noon. we'll be barely in the low 50s at 4:00 with the northerly winds. once the sunsets at 5:53, the winds will start to taper, the clouds will erase and that's when the big chill is coming. i'll show you the freezing cold temperatures next. here's sue. we have, like mentioned, a high wind advisory on the altamont pass. also an accident. this is in the reverse commute. the eastbound direction after grant line. it is an overturned vehicle that's off the road down an embankment and looks like it's not affecting.

abc 7 news. bag to you. >> thank you. threatening to attack schools in the same florida county where marjory stoneman douglas high school is located. >> sheriff's office says the teen posted it on social media, listed a number of schools. he told him as he was being taken into custody that it was a joke to scare his cousin. >> marjory stoneman douglas high school will remain closed through wednesday. the goal is to allow staff to return to campus by the end of the week. six men were arrested for stealing laptops. >> police went undercover saturday night at cafe strad a on college avenue. officers saw a black sedan pull up in front of tcafe. two men graber grabbed two laptops, hopped into the car and other officers stopped the car and found the stolen laptops. the men were arrested and face several charges. a former employee of an assembly woman filed a complaint

with the city. >> christina garcia fired him after he refused to play spin the bottle with her. in the complaint, jay david kerr nick says she was disparaging to staff and others, use vulgar language and discussed topics unacceptable for the workplace. she drunkenly groped a former staff member, but she denies the allegations. it may be a holiday today. mother nature said i'm not taking it easey on you. the white is snow. so snow is falling on the peninsula right now. heading towards the valley. it will keep sliding down 35. hit the santa cruz mountains and increased production. there's a possibility of a couple inches there. i'm keeping an eye on mt. tamalpa tamalpais. this is headed there. it could snow up there. right now, it's very windy. but we're minutes away from seeing if that's going to happen. we'll keep an eye on it for you. here's a look at the

temperatures. anywhere from 5 to 12 degrees cooler than this time yesterday. so where's that put us in the north bay? we're freezing at santa rosa. 29 at rohnert park. mill valley and tiburon, 41 and 38. maybe a flake or two can make it there before it memts. but anything that's going to accumulate will be above 1500 feet. same thing for the peninsula. temperatures in the 40s in the lower elevations. but the darker blue are the freezing temperatures as you head up above 1,000, maybe 1500 feet. that's where the freezing level is right now. in the san ramon valley, there's no snow anywhere close to you. the best chance will be along the coast. here's my 12-hour planner for the south bay. 44 this morning. only 54 if you're lucky this afternoon. back in the 40s by 6:00 and a quick look at our east bay valley, 39 this morning. 52 by noon. maybe the mid-50s, again, if you're lucky this afternoon.

big sur. we've got a chance of snow. the farther south, the more likely you'll see an accumulation. at 7:00, towards 9:00, the chance starts to fade a little bit. by the time we get to noon, it's kind of over for now. over the ocean and the mountains. we add the daytime heating, destabilize the atmosphere in the east bay hills, possibly the diablo range. mt. hamilton during the afternoon hours, that stray shower does nail it, it could dust it with a little bit of snow. that would hang around for a couple of hours. once the sunsets, so does this round of showers. but there's more coming in my accuweather seven-day forecast. there's two more weak storms that could bring us a chance wednesday night into thursday and thursday night into friday for more snow along the coast. in between, we're going to have freezing cold mornings. this morning, more so tomorrow morning. to a lesser extent wednesday morning. we'll take a look at our high temperatures and the lows coming up next. hi, sue. >> good morning.
