the ground. here's a look from mt. tam. looks pretty quiet out there, at least looking south. we'll keep a chance of a light wintry mix through 7:00. the chance will hang around from noon and will fade to a random shower at 4:00. by 7:00, it's completely out here. it's going to keep us well below average until noon and low to mid 50s at 4:00. just touching base with ace train number 1, running on time out of stockton. running into vasco on time. it is train number 3. it's scheduled to be on time as well. let's take a look at the busier east shore freeway. definitely filling in some of the gaps we saw earlier. traffic is flowing nicely into the macarthur maze and the bay bridge toll plaza. no metering lights here. just minor slowing for cash-paying folks and drive from hercules along the 80 corridor into san francisco. still under 30 minutes. >> more bay area cities and

landmarks making it clear they're tired of your game game of drones. >> a battle against the flying bots. amy hollyfield live for us in sausalito. hey, amy. >> reporter: good morning. look here at the golden gate bridge. they have a sign letting everyone know drones are not allowed here. the bridge is a no-drone zone. a bridge spokesperson says they're a hazard to drivers and visitors. according to the marin independent journal, drones have been seen behind security fences and past sensors around the bridge where photographs aren't allowed because of security purposes. according to the article, the city of sausalito is also tightening rules around drones. passing a new law that puts several restrictions on drones. here are just a few of them. no recording from drones is allowed. where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy. you can't use your drone to harass or intimidate a person and you can't let your drone get

17 people at their school, they're going to be talking to lawmakers as we've been telling you this morning. this is the latest from tallahassee. this new video we got moments ago, i am going to keep my eye on things there and have updates for you throughout the newscast. reggie, natasha, back to you. >> the u.s. military is honoring three shooting victims for their heroism. all members of the junior rotc program of stoneman douglas high school. one of them, peter wang has received a -- the 15-year-old dreamed of attending that academy. he was buried with a metal pin p. students at several high schools around the bay area are planning walkouts to pressure congress to enact stricter gun laws. the walkouts are planned for march 14th. that would be one months after the shooting. from oakland to orinda to palo

alto to mountain view. the mars will last seven minutes in honor of of the people killed. it can happen to anyone. they were shot in the head during a robbery. 26-year-old alex mahdi arizona remains in critical condition. someone behind him yelled give me your money. he didn't know the guy had a gun. he kept walking. that's when he was shot. police are still looking for the gunman. they're asking for anyone with surveillance video to contact investigators. thousands of people in the east bay could have their drug charges dropped. alameda county's d.a. plans to dismiss marijuana cases following the legalization of medical marijuana. it allows people with past marijuana convictions to petition the court to dismiss them. nancy o'malley identified 5,000

people who fall within the law. the former head of oakland schools has been fired as the head of washington, d.c. schools. he left oakland schools long before his contract with us. he's accused of using his clout to get his daughter transferred to a better school in d.c. >> it became clear to me that chancellor wilson would be unable to successfully lead the schools having not been able to regain the community's trust. >> the mayor said that wilson is a good educator who made a mistake. oakland schools would not comment on his firing. a southern california congressman with access to intelligence information is talking about the russia investigation. last night at a commonwealth club event, congressman adam schiff spoke about the threat russia poses and addressed the names president trump recently called him on twitter. abc news kate larsen has that. >> the first reaction is it's pretty funny. then you think, this is the

another arctic front going through today. it's quiet. going to have scattered showers. by this time tomorrow morning, we're dealing with 50 to 25 mile per hour wind gusts. they'll get to 30 to 35 after the lunch hour and through the evening commute. another blustery day on tap. it's a one and done. by the time we're at friday morning, the winds will calm down against. thanks, mike. san francisco set to pass new rules to keep a private transport company from competing with muni. chariot is the city's only private mass transit service. its buses serve up to 4,000 riders a day. according to the examiner, they're expected to approve regulations barring companies like chariot from offering

similar routes to muni. they say there should be different bus stops that complement it, not replace it. a new bill hoping to put an end to patient dumping. state lawmakers say the measure follows homeless patients dropped off at shelters without available beds and unsanitary conditions on the street. the new bill would require california hospitals to develop a discharge plan policy for people who are disadvantaged. >> look at the incidence in sacramento, women with a double mastectomy was dropped off in her gown from the hospital with the booties and no place to go. >> senator ed hernandez says that woman slept in a car. the bill would also prohibit discharging a homeless patient to a location other than another licensed health facility. a social services agency or a provider who agreed in writing to take that person in. >> lawmakers wasn't want equifax to essex tend the protections in

live desk. >> that breaking news in tallahassee were students from stoneman douglas high school who survived the school shooting are rallying at the state's capital. you see a live picture here of exactly what's happening. people gathering right now on the capitol steps. the students are demanding bans on guns used to kill 17 people at their school and trying to persuade people to pass laws before the legislative ends. they have scheduled meetings. they walked from the civic center earlier this morning. now at the capitol building. they are going to be holding a rally shortly on the steps. i'm going it keep watching our live pictures from florida this morning. i'll have updates throughout the newscast. back to you. >> jessica, thank you. happening today, president trump will host students, parents and teachers affected by school shootings for a listening session. they will have people from parkland people where a gunman killed 17 people at a high

school last week. white house officials say it will be those affected by columbine and sandy hook as well. the u.s. supreme court has refused to hear two challenges by gun rights groups to california laws regulating firearms sales. that means that two key rulings by the 9th u.s. circuit court of appeals in san francisco will remain in place. one upholds california's $19 fee for the sale and transfer of guns. the other, the court said that california can require people to wait ten days to buy a gun even if they already own one and their background check was completed. one year ago today coyote creek overflowed its banks devastating several neighborhoods. >> one year later some of the vix victims are still hurting. matt keller live from san jose. matt? >> reporter: good morning, reggie and natasha. so much damage was done during this flood. there are signs of a neighborhood here in san jose is coming back. you can see some construction

equipment here in the road and a lot of work is being done. a year ago, it was chaos. you remember the images from that day. rescue boats had to get people out to safety. in the end, 14,000 people were displaced in san jose. after the flood, $6.8 million was raised for flood assistance. parents and neighbors established a donation center and raised $30,000 from gift cards. 100 families at the school were flood victims. >> 2 1/2 days everything was put into play reaching out to all of our extended community areas and how many people step up immediately. >> so much more was needed. flood losses estimated at $73 million. ten times more, they want public donations raised. 150 residents are suing the city, the county and the water district. later this morning, many will be here to talk about the flooding, what happened here in the past and what can be done to prevent it in the future.

reporting live in san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. breaking news from the abc 7 live desk. >> we continue to track breaking news. reverend billy graham has died. he was known as america's pastor. he often spoke to the nation's presidents during their darkest moments and counseled presidents from both parties. one of the major evangelical figures. he transformed their religious life through preaching and activism. he was the widely heard christian evangelist in history. according to a family spokesman, graham who long suffered from cancer, pneumonia and other ailments died at his home in north carolina with his family by his side. graham was 99 years old. thank you, jessica. san francisco-based uber may be heading to court. this time over accusations from its own drivers who claim they were stiffed of fare money. the examiner reports that a judge has given the green light on the class action lawsuit.

the breach of contract lawsuit was filed in may in u.s. district court in san francisco. when uber implemented up front pricing in 2016, it didn't pay drivers their fair share. so far, no comment from uber. new video shows the chilling moments that a b.a.r.t. police officer shot and killed a man proves its case. saalim continutindle was shot. we have to warn you it's graphic. >> abc 7 news obtained this recording of the original video that was shown to tindle's family by oakland police. tindle's family says it proves he was unarmed and shot in the back on january 3rd. a b.a.r.t. police officer reportedly heard a gunshot on 7th street. when he arrived, he claims that he saw tindle and another man fighting on the ground sniept it's horrible to see anything tragic like that. but when it's your little brother, when he's not at fault,

you know, it's truly more heart-wrenching. >> tindle's family filed a claim against b.a.r.t. and hopes the d.a. files criminal charges against the officer. democrats and republicans will meet today to discuss the results of an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against one much their own. a team of lawyers hired by lawmakers believed that tony mendoza engaged in sexually suggestive or flirtatious behavior at least six times with women on his staff. a report finds that in one case the l.a. county democrat likely offered a 19-year-old woman alcohol inside a hotel suite during a party event. in another case, he suggested a young bottom in a senate fellowship take a vacation with him. he remains suspended from the senate. his office has not responded to the report. coming up on 5:38 on this wednesday morning. remember this time yesterday,

after police say he drove a stolen truck on to a sidewalk and sideswiped a taxi cab before he disappeared into an under glound subway tunnel. this morning, police are still looking for his female passenger. it appears they were separated by the time he was arrested. after falling and hitting his head he remains in a hospital. they received the information from a family friends who spoke with a newspaper in his native puerto rico. they did not say if it was from another medical issue. at&t park inside his retired number 30. it hangs from the stands. he helped celebrate willie mccuff i's 88th birthday in january. san francisco, not just a hub for public transport, but eventually a place where people can meet, work and play. happening today, transit officials will educate the

store. look at that. three people smashing through the front of the store with a delivery van monday morning. police say they grabbed a few items and tried to steal an atm by chaining it to their van. but then the chain broke. the same group used a pole to break into a different liquor store. they tried that trick and this time it actually worked. it's unclear how much money was stolen. >> a company on the peninsula believes that it's come up with a breakthrough treatment to help children survive severe peanut allergies. it was developed in brisbane. a major site gave children daily doses of a new drug based on peanut protein. more than 2/3 of the children were able to tolerate about two peanuts by the end of the study. they're in a race with a french company to come to market with it. right now there are no treatments for peanut allergies. the police are reshooting a recruitment film after some community members claimed that it was too macho and
