the group spoke exclusively with vic lee. >> reporter: here is the lawsuit filed by the eight officers. they deny harassing the female firefighter. they told us they were punished and kicked off the station without a chance to defend themselves. and it is with this lawsuit that they hope to clear their names. >> did any of you harass this female firefighter? >> no. >> absolutely not. >> no. >> reporter: but the end result, they were transferred out of fire station two in china town. results of a complain by a female firefighter. she said she was harassed by the men because of her gender. confirming the results of the probe. >> findings of harassment and

this is something we don't tolerate. >> reporter: a letter to the chief says station two was hostile and challenging for women. the eight firefighters most of them officers of the firehouse say no. >> we didn't do anything wrong hre. we did our jobs and yet we were punished for it. their lawyer says the city investigation was anything but fair. >> the fire department conducted an investigation that seemed designed to find otherwise. >> there is a truth to this story and we are here hoping the truth is heard. >> reporter: and the truth according to these plaintiffs who spoke exclusively to abc7 news was that there was an intimate relationship between the firefighter and chief

romero. >> yes, he protected her it a certain extent. i felt uncomfortable with regard to trying to train this individual. >> reporter: the group says firefighters complained to the department but it fell on deaf ears and they were transferred. >> i felt like this was an attack to my personal integrity. >> there is a lot of shame that goes with it. not shame just to me, but to my family. >> reporter: what do you hope to achieve with this lawsuit? >> the truth. clear our name. >> reporter: we did not reveal the name of the female firefighter because she is not a defendant in the case. we did however leave messages for her and battalion chief romero, but still no responses. the fire department would not comment on the lawsuit.

evidence shows there was a gun. >> there is an assault with a deadly weapon or an attempted homicide being committed unbeknownst to him so he runs. and within less than a minute he is confronted with a situation that he did not create. a situation that he did not ask to be involved in but a situation where he felt it was his duty to respond. >> reporter: a version of the video was released on social media. and attorneys say it shows him he was shot in the back without enough time to raise his hands. chief rojas responds. >> the b.a.r.t. police department will accept any independent review by anybody that wants to look at the actions of our officer in this incident. >> reporter: there was information that the chief was not able to release.

a lot of us have had problems with the postal service. you know, mail gets lost, stolen or delivered to the wrong address. >> a san francisco family say they stopped receiving any mail at all.
