od er adella said he wanted and he got it. these are the three people responsible for lee's death. her boyfriend, and their trainer, bodyguard olivier adella. adella said that biot offered him $50,000 to get rid of green. he said he declined. then he said three months later, he showed up with biot's body and demanded that adella dispose of it. in exchange for his truthful testimony against lee and biot, the district attorney will dismiss the charges against adella. >> the argument for the defense is that you know that someone has committed a felony and you do something to aid that person, either to accomplice the crime,

the officer involved and rojas to be fired and they got angrier when they heard this response. the b.a.r.t. board cannot take action today. . >> reporter: some of the comments about the officer who fired the fatal shot bordered on threats. police say the officer is back on patrol, but the department will say whether he should be reassigned for his own safety. >> tindle's family has already filed suit against b.a.r.t. police over the fatal shooting. the investigation into this incident is being led by oakland police and the alameda county d.a. a pick-up truck has crashed into a home. >> a driver under the influence of drugs and alcohol is to blame for this massive crash that killed one person, critically injured two others and hurt himself. the two vehicles land it in the yard of this bay point home at the corner of warp drive and cargo highway just before 1:00 this morning, right outside the

window where mark martin was sleeping. >> it sounded like a bomb going off. it was so loud it shook the whole house. and i thought it was almost a dream until i heard a man screami screaming. >> reporter: he says a maybe ran over with a crowbar and tried to reach the woman inside the puppet. >> and they were trying to get the lady out of the car before the police got out here. but the crowbar wasn't enough for the size of the smash. so he couldn't get her out of the car. >> reporter: emergency crews arrived a short time later and took the victims to the hospital. the passenger in the camaro was killed. investigators believe his driver is to blame. >> i feel terrible more than anything, because the last thing you want to do when you hear a bang outside your house, you don't expect to see people dead on your lawn. >> reporter: as chp released the details of the accident only feet from where it happened, he called for the end of driving under the influence.

a really unusual sight in san francisco's golden gate park today. that was a coast guard helicopter taking off three hours after making an emergency landing because of mechanical problems. >> the pilot set the helicopter down around 7:45 this morning when a light went off in the cockpit warning of a possible metal chip inside the tail gearbox. as you can imagine, the sight of the bright red helicopter in the park drew a crowd. >> we have never seen something like this here. >> this is my first day ever in san francisco. so this is totally foreign to me. >> the gearbox is very important to the control of the helicopter. it's almost like a rudder on a ship. so without that we don't have

area. 51 at oakland, 50 at mountain view, 48 and gilroy and half moon bay. this is a view of a few clouds in the sky, and the camera is moving, from our east bay hills camera. north to santa rosa, 47 at 54 at concord and livermore. here are our forecast features, we'll see a few more showers this evening, maybe some high elevation snow, it will be cold and windy overnight, and sound and slightly milder days will follow on sunday. here's our forecast animation at 5:00 this afternoon, notice those little pockets of precipitation moving down over the coastline, and maybe over the south bay and even in the mt. hamilton area. there could be some light snow in the higher peaks. after 8:00 p.m. you'll see it falling apart except for free

falling temperatures and gusty winds overnight. notice strong gusts on the coast, over 35 miles an hour at times and 20 to 25 miles an hour in most inland locations, but the wind will calm down in the early morning hours and going into the midday tomorrow, it will be a little bit tamer winds, let's put it that way. overnight lows will drop into the mid to upper 20s in the inland and north bay valley locations. over the inland and east bay, look for lows in the mid 30s overnight, and right around the bay, mid to upper 30s. so it's going to be chilly to cold all over the bay area. highs tomorrow will range from lower 50s in the coast, to mid 50s right around the bay, maybe some upper 50s in the inland locations. over the sierra, winter weather advisory is in effect until 10:00 tonight, we'll probably see 3 to 6 inches of snow above 2,000 feet.

local's and snow levels could actually drop to 1,000 feet. so it's going to be snowy and cold over the sierra. our rain chances over the next few days over, only 10% chance on sunday, 50% on monday, and then wednesday and thursday, 60% and 70% chance of precipitation. notice for monday morning, just as the morning commute is getting under way, we'll see fairly widespread rain, it may be light, but it looks like it's going to be pretty widespread, and it's going to be cold and over to the north and the hills to the east, it will be cold and snowy. a dry weekend is coming our way, with slightly milder, gradually increasing temperatures, highs getting into the low 60s inland by sunday, but another cold storm comes in on monday, we get a break on tuesday and it looks like chances of rain again are wednesday and thursday of next week. >> how are you feeling about wednesday and thursday?

nearly half of parents worry their child is addicted to mobile devices. that's according to a survey from common sense media and survey monkey.

it found 47% of parents worry their child is addicted to their mobile device. 32% of parents say they're addicted themselves. companies like facebook and apple have tried to come up with solutions to prevent kids from growing up addicted to technology. a state lawmaker wants it make it easier to enjoy a little wine or beer at your local art gallery. assembly man matthew harper would allow museums and art walks and art fairs would be able to serve beer and wine without having to get a liquor license. that would allow them to serve without fear of prosecution. >> that's why we introduced the legislation, to ensure that everyone can comply with the law, especially where there's been a carve out for salons and barbershops. >> last year a law went into effect allowing salons and barbershops to sell wine and

here on the stories making headlines this week as we come up on 4:30. abc news has learned that the charges in the killing of keith green has pled no contest to murder charges. olivier adella was the body gardner and trainer for the suspect. in exchange for his testimony, prosecutors could drop the charges against adella potentially allowing him to go free. california public health

officials fear fentanyl poisons may be to blame for the three dead men found at a high school. the armed school resource deputy assigned to florida's stoneman douglas high school has resigned, this after it was discovered he never went inside the school when shots were fired. the broward county sheriff says he's investigating the deputy's actions. the debate continues on how to prevent another gun rampage at a school. here's that story from washingt washington. >> reporter: in florida today, one of the teachers from stoneman douglas high school was laid to rest today. in d.c. at a second session with state and local officials, president trump threw out ideas, some against the republican main stream. >> there's a growing feeling

doing this or is in the process of implementing some of these strategies. oakland unified is the only school district in the bay area with its own police force, 20 armed officers and 90 unarmed civilian officers embedded in the schools. surveillance video cameras are monitored at police headquarters, giving them an advantage. >> we know the hallways, we know the classrooms, we know the nooks and crannies, a lot of the officers from an outside agency would come in and not understand some of the structures that we deal with. >> reporter: one of the benefits of having it's own police department is that the schools can communicate corredirectly w the officers. >> so we can go out and begin looking at that problem when it's small in nature and immediately respond. >> we must immediately harden our schools. >> that was the message delivered today by the national rival association which supports arming school personnel with

spacex now one step closer to providing a low cost broad band internet access. a falcon 9 rocket lifted off from vandenberg air force base early this morning, on board two satellites called star link. it will eventually consist of thousands of satellites with radar access. today's launch was delayed one day because of high winds. despite widespread protests, some changes are coming to the country's net neutrality rules. >> michael finfiny is here to

explain. of. >> the federal communications commission has officially repealed the obama era net neutrality rules. the publication of the repeal in the federal register sets into motion to -- net neutrality keeps comcast and other -- have already filed lawsuits challenging the frk cc's decision. the repeal will take effect tomorrow, february 23. a recent survey of car insurance rates across the country ranked california in the top 10 most expensive. the state came in at number nine with an annual car insurance premium at $1,700 a year. the report by online insurance quote service provider, the zebra, also found that many areas in california have seen rates rise more than 40% since

weather is hitting all over the bay area and even in valvallejo. in san francisco, the winds had people bundled up like they were in a blizzard. >> and up on i-80, saying be prepared for some winter conditions. >> winter is finally here. we have been waiting for this for a while. live doppler 7, showing you where we're looking at some wintry weather. let's start first in the north bay. the pink here is an indication of a rain-snow mix so the snow level is falling, arnold drive as we follow the showers, napa, old sonoma road, dublin road, you can see some light returns as well. and then we return to mt. hamilton and snowing as you can see here. so cold enough to support that, also in the santa cruz mountains. we have had numerous reports of hail around the bay area, here are four of those reports around this region here and the wind
