the latest bay area storm is bringing us a variety of weather conditions this morning. as you can see from mt. tam, walnut creek, the bridge. we've had rain, snow and things may get more interesting. our big story, a wet, windy winter storm. our cameras have been capturing the conditions all around the bas bay area. this is our camera from broadmoor. you can see it coming down. in is video in san jose a little while ago. this is along brokaw

the rain this morning didn't put a damper on the latest bay area student rally against gun violence. this morning students in palo alto were joined by grandparents in calling for stricter gun laws in the wake of the florida school mass shooting. matt keller is live with more. matt? >> reporter: the irony is not lost on these students that the name of their school is gunn high school. they want to make sure their voices are heard in this national conversation. the pouring rain didn't stop about 100 gunn high school students from rallying across the street from their palo alto campus this morning. several drivers going by also showed their support for the students' message. >> we want gun control and we don't want what happened in florida to happen here. >> reporter: they are following the lead from some students from parkland, florida, where 17 students have been killed. those students have been outspoken about their desire for

gun control. high school students say it's important to understand the power they hold. >> we're the next generation of voters. it's really important for students to realize they have a voice and they can make a difference. >> reporter: gun control advocates, the raging grannies and parents stood in the rain to show their support. >> i think it touched close to home for them. you know, it's hard to ignore when it's your peers getting killed. >> the kids are absolutely right. they are the ones who have the courage and their lives are on the line. we should definitely listen to them. >> reporter: more student-led protests are being planned, including a national school walkout that will take place on the one month anniversary of the shooting there in parkland, florida. reporting live, matt keller, abc7 news. >> thank you. new this morning, president trump is meeting with the nation's governors today. he's promising once again to tackle gun control. there's also increase the criticism of the florida sheriff for his department's actions leading up to the school

massacre. abc has more. >> reporter: on the top of president trump's agenda, school safety. >> we'll be talking about parkland and the horrible event that took place last week. >> reporter: the president hosting the nation's governors, many against his plan to train and arm teachers after the florida school massacre in parkland. the president on fox news pushed for increasing age minimum to buy rifles. >> to get a gun like this the maniac used in school, you get that at 18. i mean, that doesn't make sense. i explained that to the nra. >> the nra is on board. >> reporter: 16 companies cut ties with nra saying the focus should be on the missed opportunity to stop the shooter, nikolas cruz. they urged governor scott to fire sheriff israel for missing repeated warning signs.

>> it was a shameful, politically motivated letter that had no facts and, of course, i won't resign. >> reporter: this is one of the young parkland survivors shot multiple times, speaks out. >> i'd just like to say that, i'm so grateful to be here. >> reporter: at the florida governor's request, the state has launched an investigation into the shooting response. as for gun control, congress is back but there are no plans to vote on any legislation. abc news, washington. police on the peninsula are looking for the gunman who killed two and injured another at the hillside market in broadmoor near daley city. amy hollyfield is live in broadmoor. do the police think the public is in danger? >> reporter: no, they think this is an isolated incident. it's very busy at this store where people stop by to tend to this memorial or add to it that's been created here for the

victims, where they were shot. very clear these people were loved, they will be missed. their young lives cut tragically short. friends and family members gathered to mourn their loved ones killed in front of this convenient store last night. they said they were too upset to talk publicly at this time. candles and bottles of liquor have been left to remember the victims who died here. the store manager also did not want to talk on camera, but said two groups of people got in an argument last night right before the triple shooting. >> i'm shocked, amazed and a little worried about the area. >> reporter: regular customers of the hillside market say this morning they can't believe this happened here. >> it's shock, because i have been living in this neighborhood for around 30 years. and the first thing happened. >> reporter: the shootings happened at 8:45 in broadmoor. police confirmed today that a man and a woman, both about 20 years old, were killed. another man survived the

shooting but is in the hospital. a woman came to the scene last night after hearing it might have been her daughter. >> you know, we're just kind of here. i'm kind of numb. just don't know what to think or feel. just want to find out where my daughter. >> reporter: she confirmed it was her daughter vanessa who was killed. police have not made any arrests or told us the motive behind the shootings. customers say they now feel nervous being here. >> i'm going to be cautious about it, you know, and just watch my step and tell my family and people around, just be careful when you go out there. >>. >> reporter: police say they are looking for one suspect and other persons of interest. they do think they knew the victims. live in broadmoor, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. developing news out of alameda right now. parents are picking up their kids early after a possible threat made against lincoln

middle school. a viewer called abc7 news saying there was a video on instagram of a male threatening to shoot up a school. parents we talked with expressed concern over this video. >> all i saw was a few kids saying that somebody's going to shoot up lincoln middle school. so, you know, at first you look at it and you think it's a joke and then you see it again and you see comments and it's like, hmm. i called up here and there was something going around. >> lincoln school officials say they're investigating the threat but not sure if it's credible. we're trying to get additional information and we'll bring it to you as soon as it becomes available. new developments regarding dreamers and daca. the supreme court has turned down a plea by the trump administration for an immediate review of the san francisco district judge's order to keep daca as it is. president trump wants to end the deferred action for childhood arrivals program.

this morning's action could keep it in place, sort of a legal shield for nearly 700,000 young immigrants for the rest of this year and, perhaps, longer. san jose mayor liccardo has joined libby schiff if he plans anything about deportation raids. the rapid response network in santa clara county is on alert. liccardo says san jose has a lot of resources for the immigrant community online. he says, regardless of the truth of these rumors, my message to our immigrant residents remains the same -- we have your back. new this morning, faith and community leaders are holding a vigil for san jose father of three detained by i.c.e. dozens gathered outside san francisco's i.c.e. office this morning. he was arrested last october after he dropped off one of his daughters at day care.

his detention officer and the officer supervisor recommended he be released as he's not a threat to society. the i.c.e. field director denied the request. the latest on orlando cepeda. they say the 80-year-old is showing major signs of improvement. they would like to thank the baseball family for its concern and well wishes for orlando. they say he continues to make significant progress every day. the slugger known as the baby bull played for the giants from 1958 to '66. the santa clara county sheriff's office needs your help to crack down on a rash of burglaries and the reward now being offered up. plus, no need for alarm. the reason travis air force base is sending out a warning this

a college basketball coach facing domestic violence charges in san francisco has returned home to san diego. new video shows alan lamont smith walking through the baggage claim at san diego international airport. the university of san diego basketball coach was staying at the marriott near union square with the team over the weekend. they were in town for a game against usf. a woman at the hotel called for help yesterday morning. she was hurt and taken to the hospital after she said she got into a fight with smith. >> he stated that the person that she had the physical altercation with and supposedly

caused her injuries was someone she was involved in an intimate relationship. >> smith was arrested at the airport in oakland. he bailed out of jail and took a flight back to san diego last night. the woman's injuries are not life-threatening. the university of san diego says it's aware of the accusations against smith and is investigating. in the south bay, deputies are looking for three suspects in a rash of burglaries. the santa clara county sheriff's office released these photos. investigators say the trio is wanted for some break-ins the los altos hills areas in the latest weeks. they're offering $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. happening today, a heads up if you live near travis air force base. if you hear an explosion, don't be alarmed. it's only a drill. they are conducting a week-long exercise. it will include sirens and loud warnings from the base's emergency notification system known as the giant voice. the words, exercise, exercise,

the afternoon and early evening hours. until then, empb joy the sunshine, mid-50s in concord. you can see it's drying out a little bit in san jose. . roads will be wet for so 1 and 880. showers, thunderstorms through early evening. chance of rain wednesday night through saturday. storm will be thursday. hoping for a little atmospheric river to get rain totals back up to average. it would be nice if march came in wetter than february has been. my 12-hourer planner. clouds and sunshine, temperatures in 40s and 50s. by 8:00 and into midnight, starts to clear out as the breezes start to pick up. they'll be about 15 to 20 if you're headed out for lunch. coming out of the northwest across our east/west bridges 20 to 25 miles an hour during the evening commute. they pick up 25 to 35.

could be a nicy night, especially across the north bay. heading towards tomorrow, they'll calm down to 10 to 15 miles an hour. our lows tonight in sheltered valleys, could be freezing called in the north. i want to she you what's coming up wednesday through friday. see this graph, that green, that's 1 to 3 inches. that's right over top of us. we haven't had a soaking like that since january. and look what it does to the sierra. they'll get up to 12 inches out of today's storm. if you try to head there friday, look at that, 2 to 3 feet by friday evening. 2 to 5 feet by saturday. that's the dumping they needed. my accuweather seven-day forecast. tomorrow will be warmer with the sunshine. temperatures nearing 60 in some neighborhoods. the storm tuesday will be a 2, moderate on the impact scale and taper to one by 1. by sunday we're finally dry. >> it will be an interesting
