>> reporter: the agency claims 50% of the arrests were of people with criminal records separate from immigration violations. >> i.c.e. has now a track record of lying to us. >> reporter: initially critical of schaaf's broad critical warning, this councilwoman thinks it's important for the city to stand united. >> at this moment, i feel it is essential that we all stand together and clearly know that i.c.e. is not keeping us safe. >> reporter: >> we have a criminal justice system, we should let that work. >> reporter: i.c.e. interim director claims the justice department is looking into whether schaff's warning broke the law. students at san francisco state university marched through campus today carrying signs

saying crush i.c.e. about three dozen people took part in this protest against immigrations and customs enforcement and trump's immigration policies. so recent activities in oakland? 50% of people are saying yes you do agree. meanwhile hundreds of protesters took to the streets of san francisco's financial district today. [ chanting ] . >> reporter: the crowd outside the i.c.e. building in san francisco grew larger and louder as hundreds of immigration rights activists demanded an end to deportation rates. >> it's affects communities, it terrorizes communities, it makes communities feel fearful. >> reporter: it comes just days after i.c.e. organizations in

the city resulted in 150 arrests. i.c.e. officials say that they are only arresting criminals. >> though they're saying they're only arresting criminals, they're not. >> reporter: mayor ferrell says that the i.c.e. can get criminals off the streets without targeting innocent lives. >> if there's a criminal warrant, we will cooperate. however this fear mongering with our innocent families in san francisco that have done nothing wrong, that's completely wrong. >> reporter: i.c.e. says schaaf's warning put its agents at risk. >> she did what she thought was best. what we're doing in san francisco is maintaining an active dialogue with everybody in san francisco that we're tasked with being out on the streets what is happening

country is beginning to see some wet weather, this storm is impressive on our live doppler 7, there's the coiled ald air associated with it. we're already seeing the snow over the mountains north of the bay area. right now the storm is a 1 on the storm impact scale s there will be light to moderate rains, winds increasing through tomorrow. the winds will reach 35 to 38 plus. same thing at 7:00 p.m., by by 11:00 p.m., you start to see pops of oranges and yell lows t moderate to heavy rain. we're just getting started, it's going to be a rough commute tomorrow. we'll tell you how long this is going to last and what else you'll see besides the rain and the snow here. >> this storm approaching now, be sure to have the abc7 news app handy to get the updated

weather forecasts, we have upgraded so you can get the forecast from wherever you are. there is significant police activity in a neighborhood. multiple police cars have converged on pennsylvania avenue near airfield lane. this video just into the newsroom shows evidence marker in the street and yellow police tape blocking a sidewalk there and actually a whole street. we have reached out to authorities for more information and we'll bring you up to date information on air and online as we get them. only on 7, we're learning new details about the lengths the chp is going to track down a freeway shooter targeting tech busses. the source tells abc7 news, at least 20 vehicles have been hit over the past month, possibly by high powered beebee gun or rifle. investigators say the attacks have mainly happened along interstate 280. but when busses began taking 281

again, the gunman followed the buss there and began attacking them. the chp has also revealed a chp tactic, using a decoy bus to draw out the shooter. >> perhaps a decoy bus, as well as individuals that are making themselves comfortable throughout that stretch of the 280 on the side of the road and not even in a patrol vehicle. >> the chp is also asking for tips from drivers who may have witnessed one of the shootings. two freemont police officers who shot at a car killing a pregnant teenager inside have been cleared in her death. this incident happened when the driver rammed the police car, killing the passenger. we learned today that the district attorney's office has found the officers were justed in the shooting. in addition, prosecutors will

charge the driver rico tiger with murder. at the time he was a wanted in connection with a number of armed robberies. tiger was arrested in san francisco a day after the shooting. only on 7, attorneys for a wealthy hillsboro woman charged with murder says another suspect charged in the case is lying. last week we broke news that the other suspects cut a deal with prosecutors. >> reporter: olivier were sporesponsible for the mur of keith green. between now and his trial, adella will be free on parole. they also believe responsible for disposing of the

two men grew up 3,000 miles apart but discovered they were brothers because of social media. it's a great story. you saw some video moments ago. the two of them meeting for the first time as one brother arrived at the airport in san francisco. the men have the same father but different mothers. the flight took off from charlotte, north carolina this morning. david louie was there for this tearful meeting. >> reporter: the anticipation was overwhelming for 62-year-old

rick mcbride. until recently he never knew he had a brother. and they were about to meet for the first time as fast as the escalator could deliver 50-year-old jeff clark to baggage claim. >> oh, god. unbelievable. >> reporter: rick mcbride, a former facilities manager knew tears would flow, and they did, from both brothers' eyes. rick is from the bay area, his brother from north carolina. >> they said he have the same laugh and the same eyes and same mannerisms when we talk. >> reporter: rick's wife said it was social media that brought them together. >> a wife said her husband was looking for his brief. he got on and said my name is rick clark and this is my dad's name. >> i really don't know what kind of food they like. >> reporter: you're soon going to find out. >> yes. this is a blessing.
