storm, we have seen several weeks without rainfall and that has led to a deficit. santa rosa more than a foot of rain below average. this time last year santa rosa was more than two feet above average. that feast or famine pattern. p. san jose six below average. the drought monitor not surprising. we do have dry conditions. tonight we are tracking rain, some much needed rain with a strengthening storm at this hour. with more on that here is spencer christian. >> here is a look at live doppler 7. raining right now in the north bay. now, it is spreading rather rapidly and it is going to hit other parts of the bay area.

this is a look from our abc7 rooftop camera. mid-50s in mountain view and san jose. 50 degrees at gilroy and half moon bay. check out this view from emeryville. traffic doesn't look good nor does the sky. 50 degrees up in santa rosa where it has been raining already. novato mid-50s. one live view at the golden gate. these are our forecast features, rain and wind intensifying late tonight and overnight. we will have wet and hazardous morning commute. and high elevation snow and a chance of thunder will mix in with all other elements tomorrow. current storm during the evening hours ranks only one on the storm impact scale. for the evening we will see

showers spreading rapidly wide spread. increasing wind also in the late night hours. overnight it will look like this. indicated by the yellow and orange there, it will be windy and overnight lows mostly in the upper 40s. as the storm intensifies, it will receive a ranking of two. moderate intensity, wind will gusts over 40 miles per hour. we might even see a thunderstorm or two. 10:00 tonight, this will be the picture. pushing southward and east ward down into the peninsula and into the east bay. 3:00 in the morning this will be the picture. it is going to be a wet and slow and hazardous morning commute along with gusty wind. middle of the day we will see the storm breaking up into waves

of rain. and it is not going to end tomorrow. we will see more rain coming in and snow in the higher terrain especially up north. and it will be gusty. wind gusts starting this evening continuing overnight. rainstorm 25 to 35 miles per hour or higher at time suspects that is not going to change until we get to friday morning or so. we are estimating rainfall totals will range an inch and a half to rain to over 2 inches at the wettest location. and snow in the mountains and northern sierra. especially the snow will be heavy there with accumulations expected to range from three to five feet up to seven feet. here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. lots of stormy weather saturday morning. calming down on sunday, oscar sunday and milder on monday with a chance of rain.
