ir i have the weather upd e update. today's storm produces patches of rainfall. the overall picture is quieter than earlier today. look at the north bay where we see patches of mainly light rain moving on show. those areas of yellow indicate some of the locally heavy downpours up around clover dale. it's raining now into the nevada area and down off the peninsula coastline, another bach of rain that could contain heavy downpours getting ready to move on shore. the storm ranks one on the storm impact scale so through tonight we could expect more light to moderate rainfall, possibly a thunderstorm or two as the atmosphere is unstable. it will be breezy with wind gusting to 45 miles per hour,

but that's mainly in the higher elevations. here is the forecast starting at 4:00 p.m. and evening commute. most will not be encountering any downpours but notice what happens at 6:00 p.m., we have two waves of steady rain, some of it heavy moving on shore and snow up in the higher elevations. at 8:00 p.m. it will be wide spread from marin to napa counties, higher terrain and lake county and by 10:00 p.m. we'll see a rather wide path of rain moving through the central part of the bay area across the peninsula santa cruz and looks like that line of rain will contain moderate to heavy rainfall and wind down as we approach midnight but cold air will come in behind the rain and be a very chilly night and we could have a wintery mix of
