we do say good morning on this tuesday, everyone. we start with the wild, unscripted, and unrestrained antics of a former trump campaign adviser. at one point talking of defying a subpoena in the russia investigation. >> sam nunberg went from one cable news show to the next daring special counsel robert mueller to arrest him. he repeatedly bashed president trump. but he then did an about-face last night, suggesting he may be willing to cooperate with the investigation after all. >> and of course nunberg's mental stability is being called into question. some saying he was just drunk last night. kenneth moton as the latest. from washington. good morning, kenneth. >> reporter: good morning, kendis and diane. incredible comments from sam nunberg. first he said he was not cooperating with the special counsel. in the russia investigation. after he was interviewed for five hours. and, yes. now it appears he's changing his tune. this morning, the fallout from former trump campaign aide sam

nunberg's comments about president trump and the russia investigation. >> i think he may have done something during the election. but i don't know that for sure. >> why do you think that? >> i can't explain it unless you were in there. >> reporter: nunberg, who was fired from the trump campaign, on msnbc. first by phone, then on camera promising to defy a subpoena. from special counsel robert mueller. >> you know what, mr. mueller? if he wants to send me to jail, he can send me to jail. then i'll laugh about it. i'll make a bigger spectacle than i am on your tv show. >> reporter: nunberg says he's angry about a request to appear before the grand jury and turn over thousands of e-mails. he's worried that mueller is targeting his mentor and trump ally, roger stone. >> if they're trying to build a case against roger, i'm not going to be part of it. >> reporter: nunberg made the cable news rounds, attacking the president on cnn. >> i'm spending a lot of money on legal fees. a lot of other people are. granted, donald trump caused it because he's an idiot. >> reporter: the former trump campaign aide alleged the

president knew about a 2016 trump tower meeting between his son and a russian lawyer. >> i don't know why he went around trying to hide. he shouldn't have. >> reporter: the white house is denying nunberg's accusations. >> he hasn't worked at the white house. so i can't speak to him or the lack of knowledge that he clearly has. >> reporter: even though nunberg said he wouldn't testify, which could land him in jail for contempt of court, the a.p. is reporting nunberg now says he'll find a way to comply with the special counsel. >> seven interviews later. thank you, kenneth. also from washington, dozens of people have been arrested in protests over the daca program. yesterday was supposed to be the end of the program, which gives legal status to young people brought into the u.s. illegally. there were also demonstrations in cities across the country. the courts have delayed the end of daca. president trump says he's not backing down from plans to slap tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, despite pleas from

a growing number of republicans, including the house speaker you see there, paul ryan. they're concerned it could spark a trade war. some countries already warning they'll retaliate by taxing american products. voters in texas go to the polls today in the first primary elections of the year in the country. republican senator ted cruz is among the names on the ballot. voting will also determine candidates for six congressional seats that are opening up because of republican retirements. democrats are not expected to flip any of those seats in november's general election. the state of florida is one step closer to arming teachers. nearly three weeks after the massacre at parkland. an emotional vote saw state senators narrowly approve a bill, allowing some school staff to carry guns on the job. it creates new age restrictions on buying rifles. but not assault-style rifles. florida's house of representatives has to okay the bill. march is roaring in like a lion. with a one-two punch of winter storms.

>> a second nor'easter dumping snow from the plains to the great lakes. it's expected to reach the northeast late tonight. >> it's leaving icy conditions. look what happened to this garbage truck in bismarck. yeah, they might not be delivering garbage there on time. >> or picking up. >> abc's linsey davis has more. >> reporter: plow brigades race to clear roads as a powerful new storm heads east. already bringing more than half a foot of snow and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour to parts of the midwest. this was the scene in massachusetts. powerful waves crashing over scituate's sea wall, some 72 hours after the deadly nor'easter started slamming the coast, killing at least nine. from virginia to maine, they're bracing for round two, as residents struggle with cleanup. massive fallen trees ripping the ground apart. pinning down utility wires. we've been coming across dramatic scenes like this one throughout westchester county. which explains why so many people are still without power.

the trump name has been removed from a luxury hotel in panama over a business dispute with the buildings's new majority owner. police evicted a dozen trump organization executives from the waterfront high-rise. the company run by the president's sons vowed to fight back in court. a controversy brewing over the use of the presidential seal. the trump organization reportedly ordered dozens of tee markers for its golf courses with the official design on them. the 12-inch round plates show golfers where they can start to play each hole. commercial use of the presidential seal is illegal. violations of that law can be punishable by up to six months in prison. there were some tense moments in the skies as a passenger tried to get out of a plane mid flight. the woman was wrestled to the floor of the plane by other sky west passengers. you can hear her screaming there, i am god, over and over

again. the flight had just left san francisco, on its way to boise when reports say she began screaming that she wanted to get out. she was held for questioning after the plane reached idaho. amazon is reportedly hoping to offer a type of checking account. "the wall street journal" reports the company is talking with major banks, including chase and capital one. the product would target younger customers and those without bank accounts. but sources say this would not involve amazon actually becoming a bank. united airlines is grounding a plan to replace employee bonuses with a lottery. after reported backlash from workers. top prizes of the new lottery system would have included $100,000 in cash and a mercedes. but those prizes for a lucky few would have cost most workers their quarterly bonuses that pay up to $1500 a year. in addition, only employees with perfect attendance would have been eligible. a california fast food restaurant has a fry cook that works for a lot less than minimum wage. here's flippy. the robot. or more accurately, the owe bot arm.

another frightening ski lift scene, this one in california. that's a 5-year-old girl dangling from the lift. her instructor was holding the child by her hoodie, which caused her to pass out. as the air was cut off of her. the girl was eventually dropped on to a tarp. both children are said to be okay. the biggest drama at the oscars may have happened after the broadcast. someone stole the best actress oscar. catching the suspect was not so hard because he apparently live-streamed the whole thing. linsey davis has the story. >> reporter: it was an ending only hollywood could write. just hours after frances mcdormand nabbed the oscar for best actress in a leading role, the coveted award wasn't in her hands. but with this man. >> look it, baby. my team got this tonight. >> reporter: 10:05 p.m., mcdormand's oscar is being engraved with her name. 10:35 p.m., first reports that mcdormand's oscar is missing.

this morning a major breakthrough in talks between north and south korea. north korea says it will impose a moratorium on nuclear and missile tests if the u.s. agrees to hold talks. north korea has also reportedly said that they have no reason to have any nuclear weapons if they can get a security guarantee. although no word on exactly what that guarantee would entail. the south korean delegation that held talks with the north's leader, kim jong-un, returned home this morning. and south korea's president was not there, but there could be a summit between the two korean leaders some time soon. we do expect to learn much more later this morning. >> jessica, thank you. it's 4:30. if you're just joining us, let's get the quick update on your weather and traffic. mike? we had fog around novato, now disappeared. it will be moving somewhere. so be careful with that. visibility down to half a
