the board of supervisors unanimously approved plans to study a ban of gun sales at the fairgrounds. it typically hosts two gun shows a year. they want to report to the board about reducing gun violence. the proposal stems from the mass shooting at a florida high school last month leaving 17 people dead. a register sex offender is under arrest in san mateo accused of indecent exposure. a 16-year-old girl was walking near highway 101 just before 6:00 monday night. that's when she saw a 35-year-old christian morales. the girl said he touched himself and exposed himself to her. responding officers found him in the area and took him into custody. new details about what may have caused this scary sight on a flight of sfo last month. do you remember this video from a passenger showing the engine on the honolulu-bound plane missing the covering.

several fan blades and the engine broke off and other parts broke off. the pilots received a warning of an engine compressor tall. the plane made a safe emergency landing. no one on board was hurt. more help for residents displaced by the coyote creek flood. they've accepted a $5.4 million grant from the state department of social services to help families who lost their homes. more than a year after the flood, 42 people are still in temporary housing. the grant money will pay for their housing assistance. the rst of the money will help prevent future disasters. wants to charge uber and lyft for using city streets. the examiner reports the board approved the resolution proposed by supervisor aaron peskin. it urges state lawmakers to introduce legislature to enable the city to charge impact fees on ride sharing companies. the resolution says companies like uber and lyft cause more

all right. as far as lows tonight, they'll be mild once again. upper 40s to mid 50s. you can see some spotty green out there as the rain will move in during the overnight hours. in fact, several chances of rain the next seven days. we'll map out today, tomorrow and friday when we come back in a few minutes. here's alexis with some of our earliest commuters and longest commuters. what are they seeing? >> they're headed out early out of the central valley, of course, mike and a little bit of stop-and-go traffic on 205 and 580. using our speed sensors, 29 miles an hour, 34 miles an hour if you drive that stretch regularly. you know that's not too bad. we don't have anything blocking along that stretch. a quiet start all the way around. a live look at the walnut creek traffic camera. southbound 680 approaching 24. this was a really rough commute yesterday. today we're looking okay. light drive times so far. some of those are coming up around 4:50. great news after a thief stole one of their creations. the deadline the students are up

san diego, los angeles, fresno, palm springs 81. then mid to upper 60s elsewhere until you get to the high country. yosemite 55. 48 in tahoe. here's a look at the seven-day forecast for lake tahoe. wintry mix friday and saturday. dry sunday and monday. a stronger storm tuesday, wednesday, thursday next week. today, limited sunshine and temperatures close to average. mike, thank you. a new development involving a bay area robotics team whose robot was stolen. it has been found. someone took from a trailer in utah. a team from mont a vista high school was there. a good samaritan found it on a front lawn near the team's hotel. the students don't know the condition of the robot but they're relieved it's been found. they have 20 days to patch up el toro for a critical regional competition. san francisco is moving ahead with a development next to at&t park.

interim mayor mark farrell signed you a measure approving that plan. it will transform one of the parking lots into 1500 homes, office and retail space and eight acres of parks. 40% of the homes will be considered affordable. it's a joint venture between city officials, the port commission and the giants. >> nobody on the giants roster right now was actually on the roster when we started this project. really valuable, important projects are worth taking the time. >> the project has been more than a decade in the making. farrell thanked the late mayor ed lee who was key in moving that project forward while in office. another major departure at the white house. gary cone. this is days after he lost his battle over tariffs. this marks the sixth

weather over that. >> definitely calmer here even though we have rain on the way. let's jump into it. you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. at 4:45, we'll keep an eye on the flight delays. with the snow moving into the population belt, it's more than likely. even with rain, we could have issues. let's jump into our forecast. a look from the east bay hills this morning. my accuweather highlights. mild again with even less sunshine than yesterday. light rain, similar temperatures tonight as to this morning. heavy rains next week with the storms. the storm, the heart of it, that area of low pressure here is about 550 miles away. still got some ground to cover about before it gets here. this morning, not much going on. as you head into the iechk hoev hours, about 7:00 in the north bay, hopefully you're home by then. from doing whatever you need to do. you can see the rain start to move in. kind of scattered in nature.

then that moisture comes through during the overnight hours. we'll wake up tomorrow with scattered light rain. that will continue up until about 9:00. it will kind of taper off a little bit to some isolated showers and more showers heading towards thursday night into friday. most of those stay south of the san mateo bridge and into the monterey bay. rainfall totals. nobody is driving on wet streets. tomorrow morning, everyone outside the east bay and the south bay, at least inland, should have wet conditions to start the morning commute. then they'll get wetter as we go through the morning commute. notice rainfall amounts during the evening commute, really not that much. here's my accuweather 7 day forecast. scattered showers for friday and evening rain saturday. the daylight hours, pretty quiet. we'll spring forward, lose an hour of sleep. the sun will set sunday evening and the next storm on tuesday. here's alexis. good morning, mike. so far so good for the wednesday

morning commute. taking a live look outside at golden gate bridge. the zipper trucks are we don't each have one car heading southbound at the moment. so it's light, it's early. we don't have major issues so far today. drive times, this is the only one in the yellow so far. straight through the dublin. 37 minutes for you. southbound 680, dublin to mission boulevard looks great at 13. northbound 85 i should say between 101 and cupertino in the green at 16 minutes. marshawn lynch began driving golf courts in 2006 when he played for cal. looks like beast mode is at it again to help skittles introduce a new spicy flavor. >> you going to come ride with me? we got more room in here. yeah. >> brought some sweet eats for y'all if you need it.

23 and me will offer the test for $199. it detects just three of 1,000 mutations in breast cancer genes. women who have the mutations have a 45 to 85% of developing breast cancer. you might recall angelina jolie documented her double mastectomy in "the new york times" after testing positive for a similar mutation. 23 and me plans to offer tests for other harmful mutations in the future. fico reports that debit card fraud was up 10 prs last year. less less than the rise in 2016 but still concerning. fico says the number of hacked atms and merchant card readers raised. they advise you to stay away from an atm where it doesn't look quite right or the card doesn't enter the machine smoothly and to check transactions on your accounts frequently. it's a final day of burgers and beer for the menlo park pub.

a quarter to third of an inch of rain coming in mainly saturday. all right. it is nice and dry out there for this morning's commute. we are enjoying it while it lasts. in just a couple slightly slow spots at this early hour. no major issues. backup in the cash lanes for the bay bridge toll plaza. we've been having the metering lights flip on between 5:17, 5:22. anywhere in there there. we have half an hour left before things flip on and things get congested through the maze. mass transit, a great choice this morning. ace 1 out on time. 34 b.a.r.t. trains in service and capital corridor, no reports of issues. that's looking good today too. californians could soon be drinking recycled water. i mean from the toilet. water officials proposing a new program to create a drought-proof source of drinking water. treatment plants can pump highly treated wastewater into our public reservoirs.
