trump. when asked if she would alert the community again, libby schaaf said absolutely. attorney general jeff sessions wasted no time slamming oakland mayor libby schaaf during a california peace officer's association event in sacramento. >> so here's my message, to mayor schaaf, how dare you? how dare you needlessly endanger the lives of our law enforcement officers to promote a radical, open borders agenda. >> reporter: today at a press conference, mayor schaaf remained defiant. >> how dare you vilify members of our community by trying to frighten the american public into thinking that all undocumented residents are dangerous criminals. >> reporter: sessions also said that immigration agents failed to make 800 arrests that would have been made had it not been for schaaf alerting the oakland community of the imminent raids. the mayor contradicted sessions on those numbers.

francisco's top judges are being charged with elections violations ahead of the eprimary elections this june. >> reporter: retired librarian and activist whinny porter walked into the watch dog judicial office and filed a plant saying that these two judges violated the state ethics code by using court letter head to endorse four incumbent judges in the upcoming june elections, although they didn't endorse the judges outright, we stand behind the judges -- cannot use public resources for a campaign activity. but this year, four judges on the bench are being challenged by these lawyers from the city public defender's office. porter who supports the opponents says it's just simply wrong and illegal. >> basically, it's my money, my

taxpayer money, your taxpayer money being used for this. >> reporter: porter' complaints says the two judges further violated the ethics code by posting the letter on the county website. >> any juror that gets a jury notice is directed to that website. those are potential voters. >> reporter: public defender nicole solace is another candidate. >> we have a fraternity like system where they circle the wagon and do everything in lock step. >> a spokesperson told abc7 news they cannot comment on matters before the commission. if found guilty, the judges could be fined up to $1,000 a day each day the violations continue. san francisco police face criticism tonight after officers shot and killed an armed robbery suspect in the mission district. you're looking now at the scene live of where last night's

shooting took place. that's where activists have gathered for a vigil and protest. police tell us two people flagged down patrol officers and said they had just been robbed near 20th and capp street. the victims described a vehicle, minutes later officers stopped a similar car a block away. >> once again, a bad reaction of the police officers who are trigger happy. >> the system died uspect died scene, police say they discovered a handgun inside the suspect's trunk. and investigates are under way by the district attorney's office and the chief medical examiner. a teenaged boy was shot and injured today in san jose. sky 7 was over cadillac drive and winchester boulevard as police were clearing the scene this afternoon. police say the boy was shot at

least once around 1:30 this afternoon. but he is expected to survive. no one was hurt after a car drove through a domino's pizza in san jose this afternoon. take a look, sky 7 was over the scene. you can see the damage to the front of the store. the fire department checked out the structural integrity of the building and said there was no danger of collapse. so far no word on exactly how this crash happened. fire investigators are still trying to figure out what sparked a blaze inside a home. when crews arrived on the scene at 26th and dolores street today. crews stopped the flames before they spread to any homes nearby. firefighters also rescued this dog from that burning home. caltrans is still trying to figure out how a small fire started in some netting under the western span of the bay

bridge. a fire boat shot water 200 feet into the air. you can see water hitting those vehicles on the lower deck before westbound lanes were shut down. a warning for anyone who eats seafood caught locally. state health officials say certain types may contain toxins that could be hazardous to health. could contain dangerous levels of a naturally occurring toxin that can make people sick, even cause death. it's important to note the warning does not include commercially sold seafood. home is where the financial losses are. >> new data shows just how hard that tax law is hitting bay area homeowners. in fact one city has the biggest losses in the country. how a book of poems is raising money and bringing people together too. i'm meteorologist drew tuma,

. the bay area is already home to one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country. but under the new federal tax code, homeowners will receive even less tax benefits this year. researchers looked a it the entire country and found that san jose could get hit the hardest. chris has the story from silicon valley. >> reporter: the local real estate market can be hard to navigate, but changes to the federal tax code could make it even tougher to buy. mortgage interest deductions on new loans are now capped on $750,000 and for state and local taxes $10,000 is the maximum

deduction. the new code also doubles the standard deduction which means les homeowners will itemize. >> when a good home comes along to meet their needs, they will buy anyway. >> reporter: san jose is expected to be the nation's hardest hit metropolitan region, where the median homeowner will lose roughly $5,400 in housing related tax deductions in the first year of the new code. san francisco and los angeles aren't far behind. >> their rates will be lower than they would have otherwise have been without tax reform, you have to look at the balance, is the loss of deduction more than the overall rates. >> reporter: local prices will remain strong as the area deals with a lack of inventory. >> as long as we have companies like google and tesla and facebook and apple adding and adding and adding, we're going

squeak out a fair amount of sunshine today, temperatures responded nicely, but tonight showers return for some. live doppler 7 tracking the action now, and you can see it's confined to the northern half o the viewing area. in the ynext hour, clover dale going to see some showers, santa rosa in the next hour. not everyone will see the wet weather. our south beach camera showing you sutro tower in san francisco. we had sunshine about an hour ago, and now those clouds are thickening ahead of tha front. the north bay and the coast have the best chance of picking up any moisture in the next few hours. unfortunately ahead of the storm, temperatures are mild,

highs today in the south bay managed to get into the low 70s, right now it's 67 in san jose, 68 in freemont, 64 in san francisco, and 68 the current temperature in napa. in the next now hours, we'll continue to see the clouds thicken up. and that will create mild conditions overnight. 52 the oompvernight low in san francisco. and 48 the low in oakland. future weather, 8:00 tonight, those showers light in nature and mainly focused in the north bay, when we're back for abc7 news at 11:00, those showers approaching san francisco along the coast, but watch what happens as it moves onshore. it really falls apart. and by early tomorrow morning the showers will out of here and it will be a dry friday morning commute. rainfall estimates with this system, very light in the north bay, less than a quarter-inch, even lighter along the coast,

and they move to the south and inland. you can see some spots managing nothing out of this storm system. so your 12-hour planner, as we get you into your thursday. a fair amount of cloud cover. we are dry tomorrow morning, and throughout the day once again, the clouds will be decreasing, a lot of sunshine in the afternoon and temperatures on the mild side once again. so 64 for oakland and san francisco. 70 for san jose, 10 degrees above average for this time of year. 69 in freemont, 65 in vallejo, and 62 in san rafael. the accuweather forecast for the next seven days, tomorrow we have the clouds in the morning, giving way to sunshine by the afternoon, it's mild in most spots, in the 60s, by friday, there is a chance late, after the sun goes down, we could have a shower in the south bay, but a better chance for everybody come saturday evening, with a light system, a 1 on the storm impact scale, move those clocks ahead one hour as daylight-saving time begins sunday. low 70s will be our warmest spots, next chance of rain comes
