abc7's lisa amin gulezian has the story. >> she's my heart, my child. >> reporter: her grandfather raised her from the time she was a baby and tonight he's heartbroken and he has questions for this man, vincent fitzer. >> why, and what made you do this to my grand ddaughter. >> reporter: police believe fitzer was in the suv when it rolled backwards down the street hitting buffin as she walked on the sidewalk. should was surveillance video moments after the crash. the driver is seen running away. >> i'm angry, i want him punished, you know. he shouldn't have left my sister in the street for dead like that. >> reporter: police says fitzer has an extensive criminal past, 31 charges including car theft and burglary. the 18-year-old was on the phone with alio when she was hit investigators call fitzer a transient who has family in vallejo.

a real disaster at an ohio fertility clinic may have damaged more than 2000 embryos and eggs. the university hospital's fertility center in cleveland announced today the liquid nitrogen tank containing eggs and embryos began to thaw out this past weekend. 700 patients are affected. none of the eggs and embryos impacted by the partial thaw will be destroyed, though. all were moved to another tank, but it's not certain right now that they're still viable. >> a menorah handed out at a warriors game may be dangerous. the government wants you to throw yours out. as part of jewish heritage night on december 17, the dubs handed out more than 200,000 ma nors. they issued a recall saying the glue that holds the candle holders could melt which could cause the lit candles to fall off. it is a fire hazard potentially. they were manufactured in china.
