greeted with the rain this morning will be better off this afternoon. we do still have showers in the area, but you can see most of the bay area has quiet conditions right now. the concentration of the showers are down in the south bay, so from san jose to the gilroy area, down towards santa cruz, this is mostly very light rain, although there's been some very brief downpours and this has been the pattern. we have got some colder air coming in, though, tomorrow, but right now, this storm still ranks 1 on the storm impact scale. and they will continue producing showers into tomorrow, with some isolated downpours. looking at temperatures going into tomorrow, the rain tapering off, getting a little cooler in the overnight hours, but another surge of rain and showers will come in tomorrow night, just in time to dampen the pavement for tomorrow. as you can see behind me, less rain falling this afternoon

at sfo last night trying to catch a flight back to the east coast. the sonoma county sheriff said that the suspects were trying to steal marijuana. criticism from union leaders after firing a rookie officer after he shot and killed an unarmed carjacking suspect. the officer had been on the job four days when he shot the suspect at the end of a car chase. the police officer followed the training he had just received at the police academy. the rookie is no longer an officer. he couldn't provide details into the situation. family and friends of the man shot and killed by a b.a.r.t. police officer in west oakland in early january met at the alameda county district attorney's office this morning demanding justice.

abc7 news reporter amy holifield has this story. >> reporter: they went right up to the counter and asked to see district attorney nancy o'malley in oakland this morning. she didn't come out, but chief assistant kevin dunleavy did greet the protesters as they asked about the investigation into the shooting death of saline tindle. >> that process does take time and we are going through that process. we need to independently review all the evidence that's collected, from witness statements, to forensic evidence and as we go through that process, make an independent evaluation. >> reporter: the shooting happened two months ago, saline tindle's loved ones don't understand why it's taking so long. they point to body camera footage as proof that this was not a justified shooting.

tindle was shot in the back. >> to relay the message to nancy o'malley, i'm sure she's a mother, grandmother, and if it was her child or her children, she would be in an uproar and so would alameda. >> dunleavy told the crowd, his office along with the alameda police department are performing parallel investigations. after the meeting, we asked tindle's mother the progress of the investigation. >> the process is moving forward, and i'm appreciative to each and every person who have written letters to b.a.r.t., the commission of b.a.r.t. >> they're planning to demand action at b.a.r.t. headquarters on tuesday. controversial conservative commentator anne coulter is speaking at a private facility in a residential area. any protests would have to be

check for me when they started asking me questions about why we were having a lockdown drill and so we started having conversations as a school about why is it important for our school to be safe. >> reporter: it's an idea of today's march, a preview of thousands like it tomorrow, a 17-minute walkout to commemorate 17 who died in parkland, florida exactly one month ago. oakla oakland schools say their students will participate in tomorrow's walkout as long as they stay on campus. >> we decided as a result of what's happening around the nation, we wanted to provide students some curriculum around education being a civil right, safe schools should be a civil right for all of our students. >> it felt good. we're marching for a change, for no begguns in your schools. >> marching isn't for people to

storm is dumping tons of snow. linda lopez says conditions outside are dangerous and people are being told to stay inside. >> reporter: after barely digging out from the last storm, millions in the northeast braving another nor'easter. today's storm, making for treachero treacherous roadways from new york to maine. in boston, a confirmed blizzard hitting the city. >> we appreciate everybody staying home and off the roads as this storm continues. we would like you to please stay off the roads for the next several hours as slippery roads are creating hazardous conditions. >> reporter: this is one of several tractor trailer accidents on massachusetts roads. power is down throughout the area. the rest of new england, under a winter storm warning. some in the northeast taking it in stride. >> this is new england, where we live. >> reporter: some residents are ready for this winter to be

it is 58 degrees in santa rosa, 59 in napa, 61 in novato. and at the golden state, where we have cloudy skies and windy conditions, it's partly cloudy, or partly clear right now. here's our forecast features, we'll see showers continue into the early morning commute. a cold storm arrives on thursday, and that will drop snow levels below 3,000 feet. it didn't take much rain for san francisco to exceed all of february's rainfall. today, so far, san francisco has had .44 inch of rain. that's .02 more than we received in the entire month of february. so march is off to a pretty good start. this current storm which will continue into tomorrow, ranks 1 on the storm impact scale. a storm of light intensity, will see showers, but mainly isolated downpours will occur. and tomorrow we could see an

isolated thunderstorm or two. here's how conditions will look in the early morning hours. a few scattered showers, and low temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. and the forecast animation takes us into the late-night hours. that will produce some wet conditions for the morning commute, but at the time of the morning commute, it doesn't look like there will be a lot of rainfall occurring. later in the day, some showers and possibly, isolated thunderstorms and maybe even some hail as cold air surges in and our atmosphere will become unstable. and tomorrow's rainfall estimates, as of 11:00 tomorrow evening, we expect rainfall totals to be anywhere from inch. to mid and upper 50s everywhere else. so it won't be a very wide range of temperatures. and the sierra, winter storm warnings in effect until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow. amend we expect snowfall totals

tom price. price resigned after it was revealed that he used public money for private travel. now democrats are demanding to know more about the cost of conway's flights. police in austin, texas say, they have gotten more than 150 calls reporting suspicious packages. police say these packages appear to have been rigged to explode when moved or opened. officers are warning austin residents call 911 if they receive any unexpected packages. one person is dead and several others injured after a charter bus carrying high school students home from disney world plunged 55 feet down a ravine. 45 people were on the bus when it crashed near the alabama-florida state line this morning. the bus driver died in this incident. it's still not known what caused

the bus to veer from the road. the students were from austin on a field trip. we're learning more about the tourists who died in the helicopter crash. o one. >> trevor was one of those students who gave us a great deal of optimism about journalism and about the future of news media. he was very articulate and all of us are just heart breaken. >> the pilot was the only one that survived that crash, he told investigators that something snagged the fuel levels and the floats for water landing didn't inflate properly. the ntsb, the national transportation safety board finally released a video last night along with a report blaming pilot error.

this happened when one pilot returned to the heliport earlier because of bad weather, but didn't see the other helicopter because he was in a different parking spot. back to the weather and the storms this month, sorely needed avenue historically dry february here in california. i want to show you a live look at the snowfall in tahoe, from the heavenly mountain camera. are we in store for a possible march miracle? >> we have seen it before that winter has been so lackluster, you get to march and that storm door opens and our snowfall rapidly rises to near average. this is a picture of the snowfall from last month. you can see very limited across the peaks of the sierra, in fact february state wide, we were just 20% of average. you fast forward into march and we had just blockbuster snow in terms of feet falling at times. so today, we have almost doubled that state wide average

currently right now, at 36% of where we should be for this time of year. so we are making gains in our snowfall and more snow is on the way. right now we have a winter storm warning in effect for the sierra, and then another storm will move in thursday and friday, so a winter storm watch will go into effect as more snow moves in. so what we are looking at over the next couple of days in the other with these storms, a pair of them coming back to back. we are going to see feet of snow at least by friday, we could see up to six feet of additional snowfall. so the snow pack numbers will rise, but the big take away, it's just been a slow start to the season, that we're going to stay well below normal even with additional snowfall in the sierra. we'll have more rain on the way and we'll have the accuweather forecast in just a few minutes.

the u.s. ice breaker that was supposed to pick them up just couldn't get to them because of thick sea ice. all five are in good health after being evacuate issed by a helicopter. okay, we'll start with live doppler 7 showing that we have got a little bit of a quiet break right now for most of the bay area for the rainfall. and as we look at our forecast animation, going into the evening hours and the late-night hours, you can see the line of showers and even heavy downpours will arrive late tonight just before midnight. those showers will leave some wet payment for the morning commute. although at the time of the morning commute it will not be raining throughout the entire region. and the storm impact scale shows that this storm will be with us tomorrow as well. ranks 1 on the storm impact

democrat adam schiff republicans abruptly ended the investigation, they claim they found no evidence of collusion between the trump campaign and russia. the committee plans to release a 150 page report on their findings. now schiff says democrats have yet to even see this report. >> a new ultimatum from the russian government, after a nerve agent attack on a former russian spy and his daughter earlier this month. the british prime minister is demanding answers. >> reporter: what started as a mysterious incident in an international city is turning into an international showdown. >> it's clear that the spy and
