the school tomorrow. i'm sick of this. better not come. >> 4:29 now. let's get an update on weather and traffic starting with meteorologist mike nicco. hey, mike. >> hey guys. never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. let's start with the storm impact scale today and tomorrow. waves of showers and snow possible down to 3500 feet and a chance of lightning and hail. here's a look at what's going on again. you can see right up in mendocino county and parts north, rain to snow already. as far as our accuweather 12-hour planner, our best chance of being wet will be across the north bay. driest. heading towards noon, the showers spread, become widespread from noon to 4:00. by 7:00, you'll need an umbrella. temperatures still below average today after starting in the 30s and 40s. barely low to mid-50s most of the afternoon. temperatures in the 40s by 7:00. let get another update on that commute. here's alexis. >> mike, hoping for a smooth

tragic death of a french bulldog. a flight attendant said the bag the dog was in had to be stowed in an overhead bin. >> she took him out and opened the thing and got the dog. he was -- >> animal cruelty task force could file charges based on the investigation. united will issue brightly colored tags for he will people p. passengers flying with animals so they can recognize the pets. a 5-year-old boy is recovering after being bitten by a coyote while walking on the campus of cal state los angeles. let me show you the cell phone video from overnight. you can see here a coyote dangerously close to a family with two young children yesterday. it happened in broad daylight. unclear if this was the same coyote that attacked that young boy. what we do know is the coyote who bit the child followed him

on to a soccer field. university police then shot the animal who ran away into nearby hills. animal control officers set up traps to capture that coyote, which is now considered a danger to the public and as of this hour, the coyote has still not been found. i'll be tracking the story for us. >> thank you, jessica. r.i.p. jeffrey the giraffe. toys "r" us is closing all 800 stores in the u.s. katie marzullo families in the south bay. >> these shoppers couldn't leave without a photo and can't believe they're going out of business. >> this location at the shopping center in san jose was one of 180 marked for closure in january. but news that all 800 locations are closing was almost too much to bear for parents who wanted their children to grow up as toys "r" us kids like they did.

expected to raise tuitions for thousands out of state students. it would add almost a thousand dollars to tuition they would pay. it would bring it to $41,000 a year. it's expected to raise 35 million. they may raise tuition for california residents if lawmakers don't kbif the university for money. two are dead while a car overturned escaping immigration agents in kern county. they were killed when the suv crashed into a utility pole. this happened in delano tuesday morning. according to i.c.e., the man matched the description of a wanted suspect. it turns out he was not the wanted person. the l.a. times reports the chase started when deportation officers tried to contact the driver and he sped off. officials say the man was convicted in 2014 of driving under the influence. the woman had no prior encounters with i.c.e. they are leaving behind six children. happening today, a san francisco jury expected to begin

deliberations in the case of a police officer known as the hot cop of the castro. christopher coors is charged in a hit-and-run crash in north beach. two men were seriously hurt in the crash. his lawyer argued that coors ran because he was in danger from a mob that gathered who recognized hip. others say he ran to avoid a blood alcohol test. a vote to ban fur sales in san francisco is set for next week. a board of supervisors committee is moving the legislation forward despite opposition from retaile retailers. it could leave to job and tax revenue loss because shoppers will go outside the city. the city attorney's office suggested the ban would apply to online purchases for delivery to san francisco addresses. you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. look at this. some temperatures. 4 to 16 degrees cooler than yesterday. remember, yesterday was like 4 to 16 degrees cooler than the day before.

we've got mid to upper 40s in the area. mission and castro and excelsior and chris i field, bay view at 45. the warm spot in the ferry building heading to the financial district at 48. this is the look from the exploratorium. clouds cleared out and we've cooled significantly. the rain will return. exercising, you'll be dodging the showers. not an all-day rain but waves of rain off and on all day. same thing at the beaches. here's a look at the afternoon temperatures. mid to upper 50s, yesterday. notice the green becoming more prevalent in the afternoon hours. just about every hour in the planner for the east bay, you have a chance for showers and maybe a little sunshine here and there. could be a day of rainbows. temperatures running from 47 this morning to 51 at noon to, say, mid-50s from 4:00 to 6:00. in the south bay, 46. a little dry at 8:00. by 10:00, your chance of showers

we're going to look at the state today. showers in eureka to monterey, los angeles and san diego. the showers will taper as we head throughout the afternoon hours. they're getting the wettest weather right now. the snow pack is about 38% for the average for yesterday's date. 37% until april 1st. we're going to add to it. 2 to 4 feet before 35 feet. up to five feet of past levels. the winter storm warning begins at 5:00 this evening through saturday, 5:00 in the morning. we'll have snow showers saturday afternoon. mainly dry sunday and monday and tuesday and wednesday. >> thank you, mike. new evidence that a second lawyer with ties to the president is now linked to the

scandal involving stormy daniels. >> this new evidence stems from a lawsuit meant to keep daniels silent about an alleged affair with the president. abc's tara palmieri joins us live with more. >> good morning, natasha and reggie. they've too tried to distance the president -- there's new connection to a trump organization lawyer. overnight, documents provided to abc news marked highly confidence reveal new connections between the trump organization and legal efforts to silence an adult film star. stormy daniels claims she had an affair with the president more than a decade ago. daniels called the $130,000 she signed hush money. the white house and trump's personal attorney michael cohen have tried to distance the president from the pact signed days before the election. cohen said he used his personal funds to pay daniels. a restraining order for breaking

her agreement draws another line to the president because it's signed by trump organization lawyer jill martin. earlier this week, daniels said she would wire the $130,000 back to the president to break the nondisclosure agreement. the president had one day she's not trying to sell her story. she wants to set the record straight. this is about the truth. it's about a search for the truth. >> this could be a long battle. stormy daniels has launched an online fundraiser to help recover her legal bills while she fights to tell her story. reporting from washington, tara palmieri, abc 7 news. thank you, tara. berkeley police say home surveillance video helped them arrest a man suspected of being a peeping tom. he was peeping into a window two weeks ago. after the incident, she installed security cameras in the yard.

the santa cruz mountains. the rest of us .75 inches of rain. we'll keep it going through saturday morning at least. speaking of going, how is it going, alexis? >> overall, we're doing pretty well today for the thursday morning commute, mike. i do want to take you in to a problem on surface streets. this is in san pablo. san pablo avenue at kirk lane. we had a serious rollover crash about an hour ago. so emergency crews are still on the scene. they did dispatch an ambulance. we have not gotten word on lane closures and not looking too slow in the area there. but avoid that if you can. you could have delays through that stretch. southbound 101 to petaluma. 14 minutes. no delays northbound 101 between 280/680 and 85. calling all you snuggie owners, you could be getting money back. the company behind the blanket with sleeves settled with the federal trade commission to pay $7.2 million for misleading
