public. the shooting happened 9:00 p.m. interstate 80 between hercules and rodeo. investigators believe the shooting was a result of road rage. two people were shot, a woman in a passenger seat suffered moderate injuries and a young girld believed to be 5 to 6-year-old suffered major injuries. there are few details beyond that, not even a description of the vehicle, from where the gunshots were believed to have come from, which is why the chp is asking members of the public to call them if they witnessed the incident or saw or heard anything unusual on interstate 80 last night. >> if they saw something at that time where they could have heard it or actually seen the incident as it actually occurred gunshots going off, seen it, just anything out of the ordinary, like that, at that time, and they were just going to that corridor at that time, if they could call 1-800-tell-chp. >> reporter: again, the number

is 1-800-tell-chp. the shooting took place on the eastbound lanes of interstate 80 between willow avenue and cummings skyway. little yam kim, abc 7 news. check out this crash in danville today, a driver plowed through the front of a taco bell on diablo road, smashed tables and booths, landing near the order counter. the driver was shaken but appeared to be unharmed and fire crews shored up the ceiling to keep it from collapsing. a building that burned last night in san francisco has been deemed uninhabitable. the fire damaged a half dozen businesses. abc 7 news reporter cornell bernard is live in north beach with the latest. cornell? >> reporter: hi, dionne. this building has been red tagged, too unsafe to occupy. the barricades have been set up

around union street between columbus and powell. it is off limits, there is the facade could fall. business owners are trying to salvage what they can. >> we are looking at the smoke, it was coming out of the win dough. >> reporter: inside the restaurant half eaten dinners are still on the table where customers left saturday when owners told patrons to run. as a fierce fire engulfed upper floors of this building on union street which stretches the block. six businesses below, restaurants and bars were heavily damaged by smoke and water including the liquor store owned for ten years. >> you feel like you lost your kid, your business. this is a kid to me. love it.

the building is red tagged. there's nothing left but charred rubble surrounded by brick walls. remashably no one was hurt. firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to nearby buildings but erin peskin criticized the fire department's response saying it took too long to put water on the fire. >> with my own eyes they totally failed to address this working fire in a quick, efficient way. >> reporter: fire chief white fired back. >> once we determined we had no more life safety problems we pulled everyone out in an abundance of caution. we're professional firefighters. we know what we're doing. >> reporter: there was a fire in the same building in 2014. business owners say upstairs apartments had been vacant since them. >> they're going to demo the whole building it's not safe. so am i going to survive? >> i don't want to give up. i still have hope to bring it back again.

u.s. lawmakers are demanding answers from facebook to explain why a right wing political search firm was able to harvest data on 50 million facebook users. >> cambridge analytica is founded in part by former trump adviser steve bannon. it developed methods to identify personalities of american voters and influence their behavior. facebook did not inform users their data had been harvested. minnesota congresswoman on the senate judiciary committee demanded mark zuckerberg appear to explain what facebook knew. in britain a conservative lawmaker wants zuckerberg or another top executive to testify. facebook promised its own investigation. the polls are closed in russia tonight. vladimir putin will continue

tomorrow is the public memorial for three victims killed at the veterans home in california in yauntville. it begins qualify p.m. at the in a fa valley performing arts center at lincoln theater. watch the entire event live here on abc 7. a memorial is set for wednesday at florida international university where a collapsed bridge killed six people. >> members of the college community will be asked tomorrow to observe a moment of silence at 1:47 local time to mark the moment it happened. >> authorities have now identified all six victims, reporter kim hutcherson has more. >> reporter: days after a pedestrian bridge crumbled, crushing cars and people, authorities say all of the

victims have been accounted for. >> that makes it a total of five people that were recovered from underneath the bridge. there was one individual that passed away at the hospital for a total of six people, and i believe that is the final count. >> reporter: search crews worked tirelessly to extract vehicles and recover the victims, holding a moment of silence saturday as the fifth vehicle was pulled from the rubble. alexa duran, brandon brown field, oswald gonzalez, rolando and alberto brown identified as victims of the tragedy. police were worried they'd find more victims as they sifted through the 950 tons of concrete and steel. >> we're going to go once again and make sure that there's nobody else down there, but we're pretty confident that no one is left. so all the victims have been removed from this site, and taken to the medical examiner, so eventually they can be turned over to their family members. >> reporter: now that search and recovery is over, investigators are combing the scene to

tonight an abc 7, after loadsing their home in the north bay fires a big reason to smile tonight for a couple that's been through so much. and at 11:00 on abc 7, a sheriff's helicopter crew in the north bay saves a kayaker from drowning. what they say was the one thing that helped keep him safe until rescuers could get to him. "black panther" became the first movie since "avatar" to win the box office five straight weekends. >> columnists are saying it could be an oscar contender, though others consider that a long shot.
