start. a little bit of fog in the north bay. we're looking at dry traveling conditions. really one of the only slow spots this morning. westbound 5 to 580 out of tracy. 37 miles an hour. 30 miles an hour. as we approach the -- the fill in. a quick outside at emeryville. towards the maze, no delays this morning. we possibly have tire treads slowing you down in oakland. that's next. alexis, thank you. a bizarre incident in oakland. the chp says a man jumped from a tree bo tinto the path of an oncoming car. they found him on the ground near the fruitvale exit off 580 in oakland. according to a witness, the man jumped out of a tree and directly into the path of the oncoming car. that exit was closed for an

hour. a san francisco supervisor is demanding an independent investigation of the fire department's response to a massive building fire. flames whipped through the upper floors on union street and columbus avenue saturday night. this is the damage left behind. smoke and water damaged the six businesses located on the ground floor, including restaurants, bars and a liquor store. aaron peskin says firefighters were slow to pour water on the fire and says he was unable to reach the chief as the emergency unfolded. fire chief joanne hayes white says firefighters were concentrating on battling flames inside the building and making sure no one was trapped before spraying water from the outside. the deadly bridge collapse in florida. a moment of silence will be observed and the first lawsuit is expected to be filed. a moment of silence this afternoon, the moment the bridge fell and killed six people on thursday. members of the florida international university community will hold a moment of silence. police believe all the victims have been recovered but they

plan to search one less time. as for the lawsuit, it will be filed on behalf of one of those injured. the attorneys wouldn't specify which victim. president trump had a barrage of angry tweets blasting the russia investigation. despite the outbursts, the white house said that mr. trump is not considering firing mueller. reporter arlette saenz has the details. >> good morning. president trump spent the weekend out of the public eye but fuming over twitter. his latest attacks on the russia investigation are entering new territory. >> president trump is steering his fury over the russia probe in a new direction. his latest target, special counsel robert mueller, calling him out for the first time by name. the president tweeted, the mueller probe should never have been started and that there was no collusion and no crime. witch hunt. lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are issuing a warning. don't fire mueller. >> if he tried do that, that would be the beginning of the end of his presidency.

>> this would undoubtedly be a constitutional crisis. >> the white house confirms that the president is not considering or discussing the firing of the special counsel. he took aim at andrew mccabe who was fired on friday days before his retirement. mccabe denies hi wrongdoing. sources say mccabe was interviewed by mueller's team and gave investigators personal memos of his interactions with the president. >> the president tweeted he spent little time with mccabe and never saw him taking any notes. he's calling mccabe's and comey's documents. quote fake memos. no leaders including president trump have reacted to vladimir putin's overwhelming victory in the election. he won another six-year term. it makes him the longest serving

leader. the main opposition leader was bars from the race. tensions between russia and the west deepened in recent weeks after the poisoning of an ex-spy in britain. the u.k. government blames it on russia. they're holding the first of three presentations about their body cam program and you're invited. the purpose of the meeting was to inform the public about how and why officers will begin wearing body cameras on duty. congress recently launched the program and want the public to see the cameras and ask any questions. the meeting is at 6:00 on galindo street. should be a half hour. the office will reopen after being closed for a month because of flood damage. on february 7th, dmv workers discovered a water leak in the building. it happened after thieves stole $50 worth of copper wire in the roof. that caused thousands of dollars in damage.

moon bay for the cool spot. take it up to lakeport at 61. here's a look at the east bay shoreline. 42 at 8:00 this morning. 51 at 10:00. at noon, at 56. in the low 60s at 2:00. mid-60s by 4:00. back down in the 50s by 8:00 with increasing clouds today. but they will be high clouds. still need the sunglasses. san francisco, we'll touch 60 today around 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00. otherwise, mid to upper 50s. a quick look at the lows tonight. how about temperatures in the 40s once again. even a few 50s around the bay shore and down into the south bay. notice there's a little bit of green starting to move into the north bay. that's how quickly things are going to change. the north bay is going to get wet tomorrow during the morning commute. still a lot of cars on the road for a monday morning. for my commute. >> it was pretty typical monday so far. few incidents on the roads so far. that's definitely good news.

before a packed house in tampa. 38-year-old, an aerial strapped specialist fell from an unknown height to the floor and he died sunday morning. on his instagram page, he posted this video of his solo act. cirque canceled the remaining two performances in tampa. a congressman has choice words to arm teachers. it was a town hall yesterday. a teenager asked him about the possibility of teachers carrying guns in the classroom. that idea was floated following the shooting at a florida high school. huffman says he's received lots of feedback. >> i will tell you everywhere i go the answer is loud and clear from students and educators and parents that this is a really dumb idea. >> huffman also told the crowd, the idea of arming teachers really is a distraction from the main issue of assault weapons. abc 7 news was at the farmers market on claremont

incompetent packeted due to the roadway repairs. allow extra time leaving alameda today. alexis, thank you. thieves are arm loads of stolen laptops and vacuum cleaners literally walked into the arms of police. it happened at a costco in seattle last week. this was caught on video. officers responded to reports of shoplifting in progress. they arrested a woman sitting in a car pulled up to the store's emergency fire doors. they say that was a get away car. officers were waiting when a man and a woman loaded down with stolen property kicked those doors open. the suspects tried to make a run for it. but police nabbed them. they had been spotted shoplifting from that store before. the parent company of tinder and ok cupid taking a competitor to court. >> here's techbytes. in today's techbytes, love has found its way into court. the parent company of tinder and match.com is suing the female friendly dating app bumble claiming patent infringement.

heavy wet snow all the way down to the lake level thursday and then some snow showers for friday and saturday. up to 3 feet is possible this week. look at this crash in danville. a driver plowed through the front of the taco bell yesterday morning and smashed tables and booths. eventually, landing near the counter where you order. police haven't said if anyone was hurt. the driver was shaken but appeared unharmed. they shored up the ceiling to keep it from collapsing. there's going to be a groundbreaking ceremony for an iconic san francisco building. the geneva car barn and powerhouse. 117-year-old structure is located near the balboa park b.a.r.t. station at ocean and san jose avenues. it's been vacant for nearly 30 years. san francisco red tagged it after the quake in '89. the recreation and parts department put together money to turn it into a youth performing

arts center. the fluffy feline went missing after his owners moved from berkeley to sonoma. they lost their home. they spent five months helping in a search for pack i and other missing pets. two women found him and placed a craigslist ad. >> when we saw the pictures, your heart starts beating and you can't believe it. we knew it was him. >> such a sad and compelling story with the fire and them having to have had -- flee in the middle of the night with nothing but the two cats and one of the katsidis appearing immediately. you feel your cat has been found because you've been so emotionally involved in the situation with the owners. >> happy ending. packey's owners invited the two women who found packey to their home for a sonoma lunch and a visit with the cat that brought them together. all right. never more than seven minutes
