for a bit. a live desk update with jessica castro. a huge investigation still under way in austin, texas after a fourth explosion in that city in the last month. we've learned just moments ago a little bit more about the victims. they are said to be two white males. that's all we know. this morning, a reward has been up to $115,000 for whoever m be responsible for these bombings. austin's mayor says the city has resources to field the tips coming in. police think that the bombing, this latest explosion was triggered by a trip wire. in fact, the austin police chief just said to "good morning america" moments ago, that this latest explosion was not only caused by the trip wire but also showed, quote, a different level of skill. the mayor of austin echoing that. schools in the area are postponed starting a little bit later today. the lockdown listed minutes ago when the sun came up -- lifted minutes ago. happening tonight, the

community will come together to remember these three women. the victims of the shooting at the yountville veterans home. >> the service is called a celebration of life. all three were dedicated to helping veterans heal. amy hollyfield is live in yountville. good morning, amy. >> reporter: good morning. they are expecting quite a turnout tonight. they're planning for overflow seating. the service will honor the lives of these three women, dr. jennifer gonzalez shushereba who was pregnant with her first child and jennifer golick and christine loeber. they dedicated their lives to easing the suffering of others. they were killed by a patient who then killed him search. there will be dignitaries here and also four-legged friends will be here to offer some comfort. >> several service dogs and their companions and handlers will be here at the services

monday night just in case people need an extra little hug. >> the lincoln theater holds 1200 people and they expect it will be full. for those who can't get here, they plan to set up remote viewing stations around yountville. families of at least two of the victims said they too will be here. reporting live in yountville, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. amy, thank you. tonight's memorial will be held at the napa valley performing arts center at lincoln theater. it's open to the public. there will be live coverage starting at 6:00 p.m. here on abc 7. we have another memorial to tell you about. the service for marin county sheriff's deputy ryan zirkle will be this friday at the marin center. he was a graduate of san marin high school who lived in petaluma. he died last thursday when his cruiser went off highway 1 and crashed into a tree. he was responding to an emergency call. the chp is asking for the public's help in a possible road rage incident that injured a

woman and child. someone shot at a car driving on i-80 near willow avenue in hercules saturday night. a woman suffered moderate injuries. a young girl, 5 to 6 years old, suffered major injuries. so far investigators have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle involved. call the chp if you know anything that could help investigators. new equipment will be used in the search for a richmond man who vanished four days ago while skiing in the sierra. the search teams tell us that a heat sensor helicopter is expected to launch over the area tonight to look for tom mularkey. he never returned to his cabin after skiing at bear valley in alpine county. family and friends describe him as an advanced skier and outdoors man. stormy weather hampered search efforts. president trump will unveil his fight over the opioid -- the president is scheduled to announce the plan in new hampshire. his three part initiative includes multiple steps to raise

awareness, cut the illicit drug know and expand proven treatment options. the plan is to give an option to prosecutors to seek the death penalty for those dealers who are directly responsible for an opioid death. abc 7 news was in berkeley to hear a conversation build as the urban gun violence sabbath. they discussed policies and courses of action communities should be taking. among the ideas floated were offering more places in schools for children to open up about problems that they're dealing with outside of the classroom. overseas data company tied to president trump's 2016 campaign is under investigation by facebook. accused of mishandling the personal information of more than 50 million americans. the company is cambridge analytica. it helps political candidates better target voters online a former employee at cambridge analytica said they would create quizzes. they were actually giving the company access to not just their data but that of all of their

we have new details from the florida shooting. they wanted nikolas cruz committed. he allegedly wanted to harm others and himself and even admitting to drinking gasoline. if cruz had been committed, it would have been more difficult, if not impossible, for him to

obtain a gun legally. one of the people making that recommendation was the sheriff's deputy accused of doing nothing when that shooting happened at marjory stoneman douglas high school. we're learning high level political talks took place in san francisco. national security adviser h.r. mcmaster met with his south korean and japanese counterparts at an undisclosed location in the city. the conversation focused on upcoming summits with north korea and deal with the country's nuclear ambitions. president trump accepted an offer from kim jong-un to meet face to face by the end of may. there's been no official response from north korea. san francisco estimates it will collect $7.5 million from the soda tax this fiscal year and now we're learning new details on how that money may be spent. the examiner reports the tax may benefit programs in san francisco public schools and nonprofits that serve low income communities of color. an advisory committee released those recommendations on friday. they approved the soda tax in

them. right now, all is quiet at sfo. no arrival delays to worry about this monday morning. my accuweather highlights, seasonal temperatures. sunshine early. high clouds late. sprinkles to light rain tonight. then waves of rain after that through about saturday morning. temperature today, 62 at half moon bay to 61 in lakeport. the rest of us in the mid to upper 60s. you can see that 70 around san jose and towards morgan hill. tonight, we'll be in the mid to upper 40s. a lot of 50s at san francisco, oakland, fremont. san jose. you can see the wet weather moving into the north bay and the coast first. in fact, here we are at 4:00 in the morning, even around the monterey bay. towards the 9:00 hour, look at the wall of steady rain coming ashore. it's around from noon all the way into the evening commute. you saw yellow this is there. it will be moderate at times. but it keeps coming through wednesday's morning commute into wednesday evening. also, let's take a look at rainfall totals. when we start off tomorrow morning, everybody is dry. commute at 4:00.

by 9:00, you can see it encroaching on the peninsula, the south bay. during the evening commute, everybody is driving on wet pavement. it will pretty much be that way all the way through the friday evening commute. heaviest rain coming wednesday into thursday. that's why the storm ramps up to a 2. moderate. hi alexis. >> good morning. i have some good news here for one of our only issues this morning in the east bay. westbound 80 in the richmond area. el cerrito. before central avenue, a multicar crash. just got the all clear. all lanes are back open. we do, however, have residual delays. checking out the speeds down to 25 miles per hour. 14 miles an hour once you get closer to that crash scene. i think that's going to thin out. give it another ten, 15 minutes or so. the bay bridge toll plaza, you're looking typical here for 6:19 in the morning. we've had the metering lights on since 5:23. stop-and-go traffic through the maze. but no other major incidents so

minutes away from your accuweather forecast. spring back to warmer temperatures today. average to 4 degrees above average. but then mother nature says you get one day of it. light rain coming tomorrow. about a quarter to half inch. it's just the beginning. new details about what life is like now for the southern california siblings rescued from that so-called house of horrors. i an interview with abc news, the attorney for the seven adult siblings say that they got their first taste of freedom last week. they were released from a medical center in riverside county. they're now living in an undisclosed rural home and reunited with their family dog. prosecutors say their parents systematically imprisoned and starved 12 of the 13 children. the parents deny the accusati s accusations. the younger six kids have been placed in other homes. 6:24 now. now to a "healthwatch" on the most important muscle in your body, the heart. a new study finds a way for middle aged adults to turn the clock back and make their hearts

planner. dress for the 30s and 40s this morning. no umbrella needed at noon. a touch of spring at 4:00. low to mid-60s. still comfortable at 7:00. temperature at 55 to 61 degrees. so far, had pretty good news here. alexis has had pretty good news. how is it going? >> yes, continuing here this morning. we've got a pretty light monday morning commute. here is exhibit a in the south bay. san jose, highway 87 around the airport. we're looking at very light volumes and of course that dry pavement is helping out with that. one of our slow spot, we're still bouncing back from an earlier crash on westbound 80. highway 4 to the maze, at 32 minutes. we had an earlier collision around central avenue that has cleared. but still dealing with some of that stop-and-go traffic that's start to go thin out. westbound 80 across the bay bridge, another 13 and southbound 101, san francisco to the airport, that's looking great in the green at ten minutes. thanks, alexis. this is your heads-up. a big sinkhole in the posey tube in alameda means a big impact.

that situation expected to get worse and soon. abc 7 news reporter matt keller is live for us. good morning, matt. >> reporter: natasha, bad news for your monday morning commute. traffic is starting to slow from alameda into oakland through the posey tube. this commute is going to get a lot more difficult. >> it's always a lot of traffic that way. now it's going to be worse. >> reporter: yeah. an underground storm drain failure created a sinkhole on the oakland side of the posey tube. oakland public works say they won't finish repairs until the end of the week. one lane of the two-lane tunnel is closed to drivers until 10:00 this morning. both lanes will be closed until midnight. after that, officials expect at least one lane to be closed through the workweek. >> usually it's not a problem for me. >> posey tube is one of the main arteries off alameda. there are options like the park street, fruitvale and high street bridges as well as state route 61, the baio owe you can

avoid the roads altogether by taking the ferry. ac transit has created several detours for affected bus lines. for more information on that, you can go to abc7news.com. reporting live in alameda, matt keller, abc 7 news. now, a live desk update from abc 7 mornings. a big update here. another bombing in austin, texas yesterday. two people hurt. just seconds ago, the police chief saying that the two men that were injured were either pushing their bikes or riding their bikes when these explosions happened when the device detonated. the explosion, like i said, injured those two. we know they're two white males. that's all we learned of the victims this morning. they are expected to survive. this is a fourth blast within the past month in austin. police have not said whether all of these are connected. they are warning people to stay inside much that's what they were doing throughout the night. that restriction has been lifted. but they're warning people to

stay away from suspicious packages. >> it's important right now for anyone in the neighborhood behind us to remain inside and give us time to work through this. we do have a second item in the area, a backpack that we're clearing right now to ensure that it is safe. so it is a very active scene. >> school start is delayed this morning. a reward of $115,000 is out there for anyone with information. police think this was triggered by a trip wire. they're investigating and they're calling these criminals very wily, and very smart, reggie. >> a scary situation. thank you, jessica. >> we're hearing from the woman accused of a kidnapping hoax in vallejo. denise huskins was kidnapped from her bed. her boyfriend, now her fiance, aaron quinn, of course, reported it to police. when she was found in alive in huntington beach two days later, authorities called the entire

thing a hoax. huskins says matthew muller bound, drugged and separated the couple. he kidnapped and raped her. huskins spoke to amy robach in an exclusive interview. she hoped to survive by appealing to muller's sense of humanity. so she told him a story from her past and it worked. >> when he opened the car door, this is this it. either i'm going to hear a gunshot and that's it or i'm going to get pushed off a cliff. he was guiding me. i thought i was walking to my death. then i heard a door close behind me. i pulled up the blindfold and i thought, oh, god, he is going to release me. >> muller was eventually arrested. he pleaded guilty in huskins' kidnapping and sentenced to 40 years in prison last year. the couple reached a settlement with vallejo police last week and you can hear more about

their struggle to get law enforcement to apologize coming up at 7:00 on "good morning america." >> 6:35 now. a san francisco supervisor demanding an independent investigation of the fire department's response to a massive building fire. flames ripped through the upper floors of the building on union street and columbus avenue on saturday night and drone view 7 is showing you the damage left behind. smoke and water damaged the six businesses located on the ground floor, including restaurants, bars and a liquor store. supervisor aaron peskin says firefighters were slow to pour water on the fire. he also says he was unable to reach the chief as the emergency unfolded. fire chief joanne hayes white says firefighters were concentrating on battling flames inside the building and making sure no one was trapped before spraying water on the outside. now to a bizarre incident in oakland. the chp says a man jumped from a tree into the path of traffic on a freeway killing himself. this happened at 8:45 last night. authorities arrived to find the unidentified man on the ground near the fruitvale avenue exit, interstate 580 in oakland.

according to a witness, the man jumped out of a tree and directly into the path of the oncoming car. the exit was closed for an hour. this morning, the white house is trying to squash rumors that the president wants to fire special counsel robert mueller. he mentioned mueller by name on twitter. he said the mueller probe should never have been started and there was no collusion and no crime. congress members on both sides of the aisle responded with a warning. do not fire mueller. >> if he tried to do that, that would be the beginning of the end of his presidency. we're a rule of law nation. >> this would undoubtedly result in a constitutional crisis. i think democrats and republicans need to speak out about this right now. >> the white house counsel replied, quote, the president is not considering or discussing the firing of the special counsel, robert mueller. seven men face arraignment for several violent burglaries in the north bay. all the suspect are from north carolina or virginia.

we're about 15 minutes shy of 7:00 on this monday. dry across the state. mid-60s to 70 in the central valley. same thing in san diego and los angeles. very dry today. everything changes. a very wet system with a high snow level develops at 7:00 tomorrow. you can see by 7:00 wednesday, not a lot of snow. thursday it starts to get cooler. by friday into saturday, we get about 2 to 3 inches of snow. let me show you the snow levels as we look at a quiet lake tahoe this morning. 8500 feet tuesday. when the heavy wet snow will make it down to lake level thursday, tapering to snow showers friday and to a lesser extent saturday. easier to get there this week. >> mike, thanks. the sonoma county sheriff's office released video of a helicopter heading to a water rescue. the crew was patrolling saturday at 2:00 p.m. and heard a radio call to help a man who had fallen from his kayak. fortunately, another kayaker kept him afloat. the chopper crew pulled the man

victim. happening today, concord police holding the first of three presentations about their body cam program. you are invited. the purpose of the meeting is to inform the public about how and why officers will begin wearing body worn cameras while on duty. police launched the program recently and they want the public to see the cameras and ask any questions they may have. it's tonight at 6:00 at the headquarters on galindo street. the farmers market on claremont avenue, protesters confronted oakland mayor libby schaaf about her decision to warn the city of a possible i.c.e. raid last month. she was there to meet with community members and talk about their issues and she listened as the protesters made their case. she also heard from neighbors who support her action, discuss protection of undocumented immigrants. a north bay congressman had choice words for president trump's pitch to arm teachers. jared huffman held a town hall meeting. a teenager asked him about the possibility of teachers carrying
