volunteers are setting up tonight for tonight's memorial for the three mental health workers killed in the yountville shootings. they're preparing for tan overflow crowd, including families, dignitaries and the community. thanks for joining us. organizers are calling the memorial a celebration of life for these three women shot to death after being taken hostage by a veteran battling ptsd. amy hollyfield is live at the venue, the link con theater, with the latest logistics. >> reporter: organizers say

every indication that this will be well attended. the community wants and needs to come together. everyone is coming together. look at these donations that came in earlier from safeway. drinks and snacks to nourish the crowd after the celebration of life ceremony. here at the theater, they expect all 1200 seats will be full. the speakers at the celebration of life will including the mayor of yountville, congressman mike thompson, and an alum of the pa pathway center where the three victims worked. dr. jennifer gonzalez,ez,ez,ez, dr. jennifer golick and chris seen loeber killed by a patient who then killed himself. organizers say tonight is for them and also for all of those who knew them. >> i knew these three women. they were phenomenal, wonderful

people. obviously dedicated to the service of vets. and you have the remaining staff who have gone through, you know, this terrible incident. the most important of all are the six guys who were in the program who have, in many ways, been retraumatized and need our thoughts and support as a community. >> reporter: here's a view of the veteran home campus from droneview7. they made arrangements to show the ceremony live at a few locations on the property. they're also be showing it downtown at the yountville community center. the local radio station will be playing it. they're doing all they can to bring it to the people of yountville. i want to introduce you to another being that will be here tonight. this larson. larson is with the veteran's association. his handler, matt. thanks for being here. larson is a therapy dog and he's going to be here to offer any

comfort anyone needs tonight, any kind of hugs or snuggles, larson will be here, some other therapy dogs are planning to be here as well. he's calmed me down and put a smile on my face. a expect larson will be very popular tonight. right? yeah. sweet boy. reporting live from yountville, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> i think you're right. thank you. tonight's memorial will be held at the napa valley performing arts center at lincoln theater. it's open to the public. doors open at 4:30. we'll have live coverage of the memorial starting at 6:00 p.m. here on abc 7. the service for marin county sheriff's deputy ryan zurkle will be held friday at the marin center. had the 24-year-old died last thursday when his cruiser went off highway 1 and crashed into a tree. he was responding to an emergency call.

one of the main routes out of alameda is closed. the posey tube is shut down for repairs after a sinkhole developed over the weekend. you can see the part that's shut down on this map. this means drivers have to take one of the at mat routes. mat r. answer reporter matt keller is live. >> reporter: no cars from alameda into oakland. you can see the posey tube is shut down from alameda to oakland and crews are now working on that sinkhole and are hoping to have the tube back open by midnight. traffic into the posey tube on the alameda side is usually bad during the morning commute, but today, well -- >> this is worse. today is worse, yes. >> reporter: blame it on the sinkhole that formed over the weekend at the tube's exit on the oakland site. only one lane was open during the morning commute and at 10:00 a.m., both sides were shut down. the posey tube is scheduled to repen at midnight. before the closure, my

photographer and i timed our trip through the traffic. from alameda to oakland starting now. traffic inched its way up webster street and constitution way merge, alameda police blocked off the lane but once you got into the tube, traffic moved well. the 1 1/2 mile trip for us close to 11 minutes. not too bad. >> reporter: for people headed into alameda in the morning, getting into oak labd at night could take a lot longer, especially if you commute by night. >> if they close the tunnel, we may not be able to ride through it as well. we had to go around about an eight-mile detour. >> reporter: the posey tube is one of the main arteries off the main route. you can ditch the car and take the ferry. for most people, being late is never an option, so they left early. >> i left 20 minutes early to get to school.
