live where you live. this is "abc7 news." >> a blast rattles a san jose neighborhood. several grenades were found, some of them still live. >> the homeowner found the grenades in her basement. police shut down the area near the san jose country club. >> a bomb squad came in and took care of the explosives. katie? >> reporter: the woman who owns the home behind us found those grenades getting ready for an es kate sale. we talked with the woman and she said it was a scary moment for all of them. sky 7 captured the moment the incident came to an end. the bomb squad detonated live grenades in the backyard of a

home. the homeowner found the devices. >> there were five grenades. two were smoke and three were alive. >> reporter: this woman said she was organizing the estate sale for the homeowner. >> she was shaking like crazy because she was upset they were real. i almost fell over, because we handled them and we didn't know if they were real or not. >> reporter: they called authorities and deputies responded. they closed down streets and evacuated ten homes. >> it's really scary to know that someone has that kind of stuff in their home. >> maybe it's just memorabilia or something like that. but still, there is concern with what's going on in the world today. >> reporter: the detonation came shortly after 7:00 p.m., and people were to return home. the estate sale organizer says the homeowner has not lived in the house for two years and has no idea how the xwre ma xwre m e be in the basement.

there are were two more freeway shootings tonight. the victims says the suspect pulled out a gun, shooting striking the outside of the car. the chp arrested 18-year-old christian torres. and in east oakland, a 50-year-old man was shot in the finger. chp ran traffic brakes to look for evidence causing this backup you see from earlier tonight. the shootings come as law enforcement searches for a shooter in hercules this saturday. a young girl was injured and remains in the hospital. new details on the cozy tube closure in alameda. road crews have completed repairs on a sinkhole that formed over the weekend. both lanes will reopen at midnight. about an hour from now. they reported earlier only one

umbrellas out and hang on to them the rest of the workweek. the green you see is just moisture up in the clouds, it's not actually rain yet. take a look at the wider picture. we are really tracking a series of systems. tomorrow, spring showers. the season is officially changing. wednesday, thursday, a thunder chance and friday looking at cold showers. temperatures are quite comfortable. numbers in the 40s, all the way to 60s. a beautiful few here of san francisco. spring begins in the morning and a rainy pattern follows. wet and windy midweek with a chance of a storm. particularly on thursday. and scattered showers expected on friday. as we look at the morning temperatures, 40s, 50s, all the clouds insulating you. in the afternoon, we are expecting some showers. temperatures lower than today. in the mid 50s to the low 60s.

on our storm impact scale, this ranks a one. it's a light system for tomorrow afternoon. some light showers, less than a quarter of an inch for most of you and breezy in the nighttime hours. your morning commute is type. might see a few sprinkles around 11:00 a.m. and we head into lunch, where we see change. the atmosphere moistens up, showers move in at 2:00 in the afternoon to 3:30. this is mostly light, heading into the 5:00 p.m. hour, still scattered light showers going into 6:00 and 8:30 tomorrow night. totals are coming down as a result of the latest computer models going dryer. it's going to take time before we see the atmosphere moisten up. so some of you will see a few hundredths of rain. the switch begins late wednesday night into thursday.

see those oranges and yellows? that's pockets of moderate to heavy rain. thursday morning's commute does not look favorable. here is encouraging news. the sierra snow pack, because of the recent snow has gone up. it's 48% of average and they'll be adding to that snow pack. we are expecting between tomorrow night and thursday night pretty good snowfall totals, at least at the highest elevations. 15 inches in tahoe. that snow level will be coming down by the end of the workweek. level one system, those spring showers for tomorrow, another level one for wednesday. periods of rain, breezy. thursday is the day we'll see wet, windy weather with a thunderstorm possibility. friday, cold showers and we dry out sunday. and monday download the accuweather app and check out those temperatures. >> thanks, sandhya. a shock for a california
