oakland, and they could see black, acrid smoke, coming from the station when they arrived. and there were inventory trains running at the same time and passengers on the platform. the first focus was to evacuate. they have shut down this station at 24th. what they determined was it was an overheated electrical short. this happened underneath the tracks. it was an overheated circuit. they say when trash and debris is gathered there and the circuit overheats it's a recipe for disaster. they did have all of their firefighters wearing their breathing apparatus when they handled this because of that black smoke. they got the fire out. this station is still closed and b.a.r.t. is saying you should find another way to work if you can because it will be limited service. i'm told they can only let so many trains through the tube at a time. when there's a backup that just adds to the problem so the delay will be serious until they get this cleared up.
