showers spread across the entire region. we have downpours near rioriori and antioch. and speaking of direction, this is the storm out at sea that's directing the flow of all this moisture toward the bay area and even heavy rain is moving into southern california and falling there right now as a matter of fact. this storm ranks 1 on the storm impact scale, it will be with us this eastern and tomorrow, producing light to moderate rainfall, and gusts 15 to 30 miles an hour. and there's a chance for isolated rainfall tomorrow. i'll have the forecast coming up a little bit later. >> spencer, thank you so much. authorities in southern california aren't taking any chances with that heavy rain spencer just mentioned.

exception. >> the victim was driving a p u prius, the suspect was driving a mustang. >> the 18-year-old brandished a pellet gun and shot at a driver who honked at him. he now faces charges of brandishing a weapon. that's a serious misdemeanor. >> if you're driving down the road and somebody brandishes a pistol, that brandishing is done to create fear in that other person. a normal person driving down the road isn't going to take the time to look at that weapon and try to determine if it's a pistol, a pellet gun or a fake gun in this case. >> the victim in this case called 911 and that led to a manned hunt. witnesses say the pistol was on the front seat of the car. one more apparent example of road rage than ever and more frustrated in an angry world. >> it escalated to the point of

sidewalk, bending at the light pole. the impact was loud enough to wake up residents here in gough and bush in san francisco at 5:30 this morning. >> we were asleep and just all of a sudden out of nowhere, just huge loud noise. >> the thi . >> reporter: the driver of the third car involved is feeling very lucky that he's away from this. >> the black car came flying through the intersection, he took the front of me and plowed it into the silver car and push ud it into the poll. >> five people were taken to the hospital. >> the first guy they pulled, you could tell he was in discomfort, but the rest of him, i think they looked stable from what i could see. >> at this point, san francisco police say they're still investigating. they haven't determined what happened here or why and who if anyone was at fault.

in san francisco, aim mamy. three days after criticizing joanne hayes wife, and his response to the north bay fire over the weekend. he said it took too long to put water on the blaze and that the chief wasn't answering his calls, today in a statement, he says he's grateful for the firefighters service and, quote, while i reserve the right to raise questions, as more information comes out about sffd's leadership response to saturday night's fire, it was inappropriate to raise them the scene. he said he would also apologize to the chief in person. this was video from an overnight rescue from the fire department. if you look closely, you can see firefighters rescuing an elderly woman from a fourth floor burning apartment. you can see the firefighters

there at jackson and polk streets and sky 7 was over downtown san jose as firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant warehouse. the hazmat team also responded, because of concerns that some chemicals were stored in the building and could be a problem. investigators are not sure if they're hazardous or contributed to the fires in some way. the issue of abortion was front and center of the california supreme court. >> a san francisco lawmaker offered that controversial measure. pwritten by assemblyman david as chew, and senators dianne fienstein followed am mika's brief following the law. it's now being challenged at the supreme court. the line started forming yesterday outside the supreme

court an indication of the interest in this controversial case. the justices are reviewing a 2015 law of san francisco assemblyman david chew, it targets so-called crisis pregnancy centers. this is one on mission street that pretends to offer women a range of offers but is actually ant anti-abortion, his law requires that clinics make it clear. >> these are run by extremists who are trying to ensure that women are misinformed and misled and deceived about what reproductive health options they have in the state of california. >> but anti-abortion activists who march every year in san francisco says the law forces tem to deliver a message they disagree with. when the government decides what people should and should not say, other freedoms are sure to disappear soon after. courtroom observers described

concord who qualified for the ana junior inspiration tournament. that's the first major for the lpga. that's the ladies professional golf tour. she's going to be participating for the only opening in the tournament. only 478 juniors qualified for this event. two are from the bay area. how did you do this? that's pretty impressive. >> first of all i qualified being a gateway qualifier. so they base that on the nearest airport by you. and then i still got in by being in the rankings. so i guess since i'm top ten in the u.s., it's like first ranking. >> wait a minute, you're top ten in the u.s.? in the country? >> i'm number four right now. >> you must love the game and you must be very dedicated to it?

what does golf mean to you besides just a sport? >> well, it means, like, it's my life and i've met all my best friends, and i have learned so much about life in general, because of golf and it's gotten me here and so many other places to school and all over the country. so -- >> i have been a lifelong golfer myself and on the board of the first tee and what i love about golf especially for young people ask the sense of sportsmanship, values, discipline, integrity, there's a lot to golf that people don't know anything about the game may not recognize, it's about more than just the sport, isn't it? >> yes, i have learned, it's a game of respect and patience and you learn about yourself while playing on the course. you're on the course for five, six hours sometimes and you have to be patient all day and you learn friendships and respect and patience. sportsmanship, especially. >> it's the only sport where

bit of a break there right now. wet and windy conditions will prevail with a chance of light to moderate thunderstorms. and we'll see scattered showers on friday before we get some dryer weather over the weekend. the current storm which will continue into tomorrow ranks 1 on the storm impact scale, light in intensity. the wind gusts will gust from 15 to 30 miles an hour. here's the forecast animation, 8:00 tonight, we'll see rather widespread light to moderate rainfall, during the overnight that will continue. by 8:00 tomorrow morning, look for some steadier downpours. then during the main part of the day, the middle of the day, we'll get a little bit of a break, but then late into tomorrow evening, we'll get another storm coming in that will be a stronger storm than

the current one. rainfall totals, we estimate by 11:00 tomorrow night, we'll range from a third of an inch to over an inch in the north bay, which is likely to be the wettest region in the bay area. and state wide over the next four days we estimate the rainfall totals will total over four inches in fresno and less in other areas. maybe a few upper 60s inland. it will be snowy in the sierra where a winter storm watch will be in effect tomorrow afternoon to thursday afternoon. and a winter storm warning will be in effect from tomorrow afternoon at 5:00, to friday morning at 5:00. we expect quite a bit of snow, in fact snowfall totals will reach nearly four feet in some areas. it will be more like 1 to 3 feet. here's the accuweather 7-day forecast, the storm coming in on

damaging cars and creating dangerous conditions on the road. authorities in georgia confirmed one of their state troopers tyler parker died in a weather related car accident while out driving with his daughter, she remains in critical condition. the storm already giving people on this flight from charlotte to alabama quite a show is now marching up the coast, as the north braces for high winds, coastal flooding and snowfall. experts say since it's technically spring, the ground should be warm and hopefully that snow won't stick around for too long. we don't have a storm like that, but a storm nonetheless, as you can see on live doppler 7, you can see showers scattered showers around the bay area this morning. the current storm ranks 1 on the storm impact scale, a storm of light intensity, producing light

united airlines is pausing it's pet shipping business after some mishaps. it's reviewing the service that allows customers to ship pets as cargo. this comes after a mix up -- --- local spca spokesman says it's probably a good idea the -- >> united expects to finish its review by may 1, it doesn't affect puts in the cabin. after a flight attendant ordered the pet to be put in the overhead bin, it did nod survive. and this 8 week old puppy was sent to several wrong airports.

delta says there was a mix-up somewhere and the dog was in detroit, then it was flown to minneapolis. delta says the puppy was then misrouted to las vegas. after that it was flown to salt lake city and finally to boise the next day, but at least it survived. well some new research is revealing where you can sit on a plane to minimize your chances of getting sick, apparently you should choose the window, in a study funded by boeing to measure viruses and transmission. people on the isle are more likely to move around and spread viruses. if someone is sick in the cabin, the people in the 11 rows around them stand the best chance of getting sick. it is the first day of spring and with more daylight hours, there's more fun to be had right here in the bay area.

we have some ideas and some fun things going on for us? >> yes, absolutely. one of the first things i recommend to anybody here in san francisco is to go to billy goat hill. that's the photo you've probably seen everywhere on your instagram feed where someone's on a rope swing and the whole san francisco bay is in picture. so you can go up there and swing on the swing, there's also lots of wild flowers, it's a little bit of a hike, but it's a good way to have fun in the sun. >> sometimes the swing is not there? >> it might not be there? but if the rope isn't there, you can just do it tarzan style. >> just be careful. >> be careful, yes. if you have ever been to the stewart street slides.
