live where you live. this is abc 7 news. they're storm ready in the north bay in case the coming rain overcomes fire-damaged neighborhoods causing even more destruction. >> we'll get to the danger in the north bay in just a moment, but first the storm. >> it's going to make for a wet commute. four people were injured when a vehicle slid on the roadway on east 18th street, sideswiping another vehicle. >> taking a look at driving conditions on the golden gate bridge. through the raindrops on the camera, you can see highway 101 is just soaked. >> at certain points, the rain has come down hard. taking a look at sfo, the runways were also slick. there were dozens of delays, with more expected tomorrow. >> with more on what we can expect, here's our

meteorologist, sandhya patel. >> i want to show you where we're seeing the rain pretty much blanketing the bay area. light rain except around half moon bay. take a look at the rainfall here. you will notice that it is heavy right around half moon bay, about .7 of an inch per hour. so watch out. santa cruz mountains, you're getting steady, light rain, and that is the theme that is carrying over into the peninsula. you're going to see those showers continuing into san francisco and the east bay. and the north bay, american canyon, napa area, we're watching the storm. as you take a look at the wider picture, this has a long bunch of moisture. the atmospheric river is aimed at big sur. light to moderate showers, gusty in spots. tomorrow we are looking at the possibility of thunder.

i'll be back an hour i about hour timeline coming up? . in the north bay fire zone there are concerns about potential mudslides as this storm gains strength this week. we are live in santa rosa tonight. what's the latest there? >> reporter: these high alert signs are new. they recently went up all over this neighborhood in fountaingrove. you can see that residents are warn of risks of mudslides and flooding that could happen with heavy rain. with the rain comes the warnings. the city recently learned fountaingrove is at moderate risk for debris flows and mudslides. since the fires which impacted so many lives, emergency officials have been planning for the worst, while still hoping for the best. a new alert system will let residents know if weather-related trouble is coming their way. and gravel bags now protect 1400

hours after a morning blast at a fedex center near san antonio. that explosive package was shipped from the austin fedex facility, now swarmed with police as haufrpundreds of law enforcement agents are racing against the clock. fedex says they've recovered a second package sent by the same individual and have turned it over to investigators. >> it's extremely important to have an unexploded package or bomb. because it then gives you the intercrassies about how he built the bomb, which had tell you about expertise, a greater likelihood of tracking down the materials he used. >> reporter: the new packages show the bomber is growing even more sophisticated. >> people are scared. you would be too. random packages showing up. explosions going off. >> reporter: despite working multiple scenes, the investigation is still under the

president trump went against his advisers today when he congratulated vladimir putin on his reelection as president. the "washington post" reports mr. trump was specifically warned against it by his national security advisers, even with a written reminder. it's said in capital letters, do not congratulate, he did not heed that advice during a phone call with putin. president trump also went against advisers when he failed to condemn putin about the recent poisoning of a former russian spy in the united kingdom. a first of its kind lawsuits concerning climate change will play out in a san francisco courtroom tomorrow. a judge will hear from lawyers representing the city of san francisco and oakland and chevron. each side will have 120 minutes to make this case. the bay area cities are suing shelf rop and other big oil companies over rising sea levels. new at 11:00. girls were out in force for the
