angeles to south carolina last may because of that dog right there, hermine. she was abandoned a year ago a year ago in a forest in south carolina. five days state officials tried to rescue the dog. they called hope for pause and asked them for help. they wanted to get her trust so they have a humane trap set up and she does come over but suddenly she gets spooked and runs off. so they send back for their netting. they want their net shipped overnet so south carolina because they want to catch this girl. they know she really needs some help. they get their volunteers and look what they're doing. looks like a football defense right there. everybody picks up the net and they're going to try to capture this dog. >> it's okay. it's okay, it's all right if you can't catch her. >> how is this dog run so long fast with a steel trap on one paw. >> she's afraid.

>> oh, man. >> i got her. >> they lift her up, put her in the car and take her to get treated. they get some bad news. not only do they find out she has heartworm. the doctor looks at her foot -- >> no! gosh, what a cruel, awful thing to use on any animal. >> it's damaged. >> they're able to pry that off and the doctor looks at the foot and says i don't think we'll be able to save it but they bandage that foot up and then -- they take a road trip. took them three days to drive from south carolina back to california and on this trip they stopped at a local vet to get her bandage changed. dr. obered olds says i think i can work with that. they perform surgery. the foot is bound up, she's sent to ia foster home, waiting for the foot to heal, needs several months and time to reveal that foot.

she can walk on it. she is now available for adoption. they say she is fully healthy. she'd make somebody a really sweet girl. >> want to go for a walk? .
