night. a u.s. official is telling abc news tonight, that it appears there were propane tanks inside that vehicle. now take a look. the fbi looking at these videos of a car on fire, posted to air force forums facebook page. a suv gained unauthorized entry on the base by driving past guards. the guards tried to stop the vehicle. authorities say the vehicle crashed and burst into flames. the driver was killed. sky 7 was over the main get an area where the incident occurred not long ago. the identity of the driver has not been released tonight. that u.s. official telling abc news that investigators looking at terrorism as a possible motive tonight or some type of suicide event. the investigation is just in its early stages. we are on the other side of the visitor center, about 500 yards from the main gate. this is as close as we are allowed to be at this point

clark's family has hired the same attorney that represented trayvon martin's family. they say it will be investigated thoroughly. >> the tragedy warrants not only our sorrow but a deep examination of what occurred and what policies and procedures must be examined and changed. >> the officers were responding to a report of someone breaking into cars in the neighborhood. now to new details on a san francisco shootout that left six people injured. this video shows the chaos outside a barbershop as shots rang out. >> a san francisco police officer is still recovering from his wounds, and the small family businesses that line geneva avenue are trying to cope with what happened. >> eric thomas is live at the scene with the latest. >> reporter: as you mentioned, the suspect was pronounced dead at the hospital. the wounded officer underwent surgery this morning to rye move the bullet from his leg, and there were four other people

sierra, winter storm warning is still in effect until 11:00 for much of the lake tahoe area, above 6500 feet. and an avalanche alert is in effect. conditions are considered dangerous, for the back country, not for the established skiing areas. a bit more on our local forecast coming up in a few minutes. abc 7 news was in the north bay during the storm this morning. a large tree fell in santa rosa. crushing a car but not hurting anyone. at the junction of highway 12 and 121 in shellville, there's a long history of flash floods, and another one happened today. all drivers escaped uninjured. in the south bay, the rain made for some very hazardous driving conditions as you can imagine. but many people certainly appreciated some of the breaks throughout the day. kris nguyen is there. remember >> reporter: highway 17 was an absolute mess today.
