the new robot that can mimic human emotion. is it too lifelike? and we try to explain the shocking price tag for this rusty old used car. good morning, i'm kenneth moton in for kendis gibson. >> and i'm diane macedo. we begin with adult film star stormy daniels revealing new details about her alleged affair with the president. >> she told "60 minutes" she had a consensual one-night stand with trump once in 2006. earlier in the day, he told her, quote, you remind me of my daughter. >> years later, daniels says she was threatened in a parking lot and warned to keep their encounter secret. abc's serena marshall has more details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, kenneth and diane. stormy daniels, whose real name is stephanie clifford says she's speaking out now because she wants to defend herself. even though it means facing off legally with the president's lawyer over their nondisclosure agreement. the president back in washington

solo as the anticipated stormy daniels interview made air. >> and you had sex with him. >> yes. >> you were 27. he was 60. were you physically attracted to him? >> no. >> reporter: the bombshell "60 minutes" interview follows a confidentiality agreement she signed for $130,000 just days before the 2016 election. she claims the contract is void because then candidate trump never signed it. president trump's personal lawyer, michael cohen, acknowledges he paid her from a personal home equity line if in exchange for her silence and claims daniels broke the agreement more than 20 times, making her liable for damages in excess of $20 million. >> it was very important to me to be able to defend myself. >> reporter: even though in january, she issued a statement denying the affair ever happened. she says she did so under pressure. >> they made it sound like i had no choice. >> reporter: and after receiving this 2011 threat when trying to go public. >> a guy walked up on me and

said to me, leave trump alone. forget the story. and then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, it's a beautiful little girl. it would be a shame if something happened to her mom. >> reporter: daniels never specified who she thought was behind the intimidation. overnight, cohen's lawyer sent a letter saying the physical threats claims were false and defamatory. daniels' attorney argues the this has less to do with the affair than the coverup. >> it is thuggish behavior from people in power. it has no place in american democracy. >> reporter: cohen insists neither the trump campaign nor the trump organization were involved in the pimt. it's the timing of the payment to daniels that came days before the election that are raising questions over possible violations of campaign finance laws. kenneth? diane? >> thank you. the part of the interview that did not air last night, she says she's been offered deals to make adult movie parodies about her affair with trump but has rejected those offers. new details about the shakeup in the president's legal team following the resignation

of lead attorney john dowd. two other top lawyers supposed to help defend the president in the russia investigation will not join the team after all. the change of plans is being blamed on conflicts. and the president's friend, newsmax ceo chris ruddy says the president will make one or two major changes to his administration very soon. veterans affair secretary david shulkin may be pushed out as early this week amid allegations that he misspent taxpayer money. chief of staff john kelly and hud secretary ben carson are expected to stay at least for now. students pushing for new gun laws after the florida school shooting head back to classes today after the historic march in washington over the weekend. supporters and skeptics are questioning what is next for the movement. one former presidential candidate offered a suggestion to students. not without controversy. overnight, the organizers for the march for our lives returned to parkland, florida. the students from stoneman douglas high school spending their spring break mobilizing

millions across the nation. the students head back to class with new security measures in place. only clear backpacks will be allowed. and armed officers will stand at entrances. their return comes after demonstrations around the country this weekend, demanding changes to gun laws. an estimated 800,000 people rallying in washington. [ chanting ] >> all: never again. never again. >> reporter: in the wake of the rallies, former senator and presidential candidate rick santorum stirred controversy sunday when he suggested that instead of pushing for gun reforms, the students should learn how to save lives in an emergency. >> how about kids, instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking cpr classes. >> reporter: saying he was proud of the students' efforts but suggested a different approach would be more effective. >> they didn't take action to say how do i, as an individual, deal with this problem? how am i going to do something about stopping bullying within my own community? what am i going to do to help respond to a shooter? >> reporter: the reaction was swift. california representative ted

now, at least 64 people, including many children have been killed in massive fire that went through a shopping mall in siberia. over a dozen people are missing overnight. the mall has a movie theater, a petting zoo, and a children's center. fire crews say some floors have caved in. and they're now worried about the entire building collapsing. the flames broke out on the top floor. a criminal investigation is under way. rebels in yemen are taking credit for a deadly missile attack targeting saudi arabia's capital. they say the attack was launched to mark the third anniversary of the war between the two countries. a missile fragment killed a man in riyadh. it's the first death in the saudi capital since the war began. more than 10,000 people have died in the conflict. time now for a look at your weather on this monday morning. ♪ it's the last full week of march, and we are tracking yet another winter storm. a system moving through the central part of the country will bring snow to the upper midwest.

we're back with an implosion in texas. all it took was ten seconds to bring down this old building in downtown austin that belonged to the university of texas. because of the recent package bombs in austin, authorities made sure to warn residents about the building implosion ahead of time. and now to some new revelations about the company at the center of the facebook data scandal. "the washington post" reports cambridge an lit that assigned dozens of foreigners to provide campaign strategy to republican candidates in 2014. and "the post" reports assistance continued after the company was warned that u.s. laws mostly banned foreigners from participating in political campaigns. the revelation comes a day after facebook published a full-page apology in major newspapers for what facebook ceo mark zuckerberg calls a breach of trust.

two-term congressman ryan costello is the latest to say he won't seek re-election. he says the reason he's not running is that pennsylvania's new congressional map made his district more democratic. he joins about three dozen other republican house members not seeking re-election. an army veteran who served two tours in afghanistan has been deported to mexico. miguel perez was escorted across the border from texas after his application for u.s. citizenship was denied because of a drug conviction. perez suffers from ptsd. he says his experience in afghanistan led to drinking and drugs. perez had been living in the u.s. since he was 8 years old and has two american-born children. gas prices are on the rise. once again. prices nationwide rose seven cents a gallon in the last few days. they're expected to keep rising. largely because of higher oil costs and demand. the national average is $2.60 a gallon for self-serve regular. the world's largest cruise ship is poised to embark on its maiden voyage. royal caribbean's "symphony of the seas" is nearly as long as

we got some new video of what appears to be a meteor in the skies over colorado over the weekend. the driver who shot the video was on interstate 25 on saturday just as the bright flash appeared in the sky before dawn. new clues are emerging about a spring break tragedy in mexico. an entire family from iowa died. on vacation while staying in a rental condo. as their relatives plan to return their bodies home this week, authorities are seeking more answers. marci gonzalez has more. >> reporter: investigators trying to identify what gas killed a family of four on vacation in mexico. looking in an oven. checking exhaust pipes. testing the air in this condo where kevin sharp, his wife amy, and their children, sterling and adrianna, were found dead friday. mexican officials ruling the cause of death asphyxiation by

45-year-old kevin esterly is being held on $500,000 bail in pennsylvania. he and 16-year-old amy yu were reported missing three weeks ago and were later found in playa del carmen. police say he had been checking yu out of school by pretending to be her stepfather. esterly's wife says she has no plans to speak with him. >> he did try to reach me several times from miami prison. i did not accept any of his phone calls. i don't want to hear excuses. i don't want to hear that he's sorry. there's no -- words, um -- there's -- he up and left his four children. >> stacy says her husband also secretly rented an apartment just four blocks from amy's house. she's moving forward with the divorce and will fight for custody of their four girls. more than 100 passengers on a flight in europe are finally headed to their destination today. they were stranded in germany all weekend because authorities

loose. >> everyone is traumatized. our hearts go out to the family and to the team for having to witness this. >> reporter: city crews cut down another vulnerable monterey pine out of an abundance of caution. the city has announced that they think the park is safe. this will be the first day back at school since this freak accident. administrators will do what they can to help the softball team and any other students impacted reporting live in alameda, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. amy, thank you. this morning, san francisco police are trying to find out why a man stabbed say woman to death inside of a church. it happened at chinese christian church on 19th and chester avenues. witnesses who spoke with abc 7 news said they recognized the couple as a man and wife. one woman who didn't want to give us her name told us it happened in front of the pastor. >> she was crying and all she said was that it happened directly right in front of her.
