myself i was never going to drink or use again. >> she had done all kinds of rehab but she needed something that she knew would be there, not just for six months, or 18 months. she needed something that was long-term and permanent. and two years after becoming sober, she opened the black iron gym, which is a cross-fit gym in reno. >> interesting she's doing it in re reno, the same place you had that history, kind of brave. >> she did it on purpose. the city that had been a negative experience she's turning it into a positive and taking it a step further. it's not just about her. >> the gym was kind of the only thing through all of this that had power over the addiction and the alcoholism. i wanted to give that to as many people as i could. >> so what she did was open up this gym for free to recovering addicts. so as long as they stayed sober their workouts would be completely free. >> genius. >> so it became their safe haven
