the president's own words don't seem to match his administration's aggressive actions. >> the president wants to work with russia, but their actions sometimes don't allow that to happen. >> reporter: and russia is vowing to retaliate against all the countries that expelled their diplomats, but the white house says the ball is in russia's court in terms of how it wants to respond. cecilia vegas, abc news. stormy daniels has amended her lawsuit against donald trump after the "60 minutes" interview. it accuses michael cohen of defamation. sources tell the "washington post" the president said he did not think daniels appeared credible and even complained that she's not his type. on monday he tweeted so much fake news, never been more voluminous or more inaccurate. but through it all, our country is doing great.

the president still hasn't publicly mentioned daniels by name and left it up to the white house to deny any allegations. >> the white house didn't engage in any wrongdoing. the campaign or mr. cohen can address anything with respect to their actions. with respect to that interview, i will say the president strongly clearly and has consistently denied these underlying claims and the only person who has been inconsistent is the one making the claims. >> daniels' amended lawsuit also alleges that the $130,000 payment to her was a violation of campaign finance law. president trump is reportedly talking about rehiring former white house staff secretary rob porter a month after he stepped down amid domestic violence accusations. sources tell the "new york times" the president remains in touch with porter who was accused of abusing his two ex-wives but he reportedly acknowledged that he probably can't bring porter back. the fbi is investigating the delivery of several suspicious packages in the washington, d.c. area. evacuations were ordered. at least one of the packages tested positive for black powder.

all of the packages were rendered safe and are now being analyzed. no injuries were reported. a former michigan state official has been arrested in connection with the olympic gymnastics sexual assault scandal. exact charges haven't been disclosed, but it is during the investigation of the school. he was a dean and nassar's boss. nassar is serving both state and federal sentences after being convicted. the grandmother of an unarmed black man shot to death by sacramento police has made a tearful call for change, begging for new methods of confronting suspects. meantime the attorney who handled the trayvon martin case is taking on the same role in the death of stephon clark. here is alex stone.

>> reporter: after close to a week of protests in the streets of sacramento, the emotional grandmother of stephon clark. >> justice, justice for my baby. >> reporter: in front of reporters pleading for answers from police. >> they didn't have to kill him like that. they didn't have to shoot him. >> reporter: police shot at clark 20 times in his grandmother's backyard seen here on police body cameras, two officers, one who was black, can be heard yelling gun. police say the officers believed clark was armed. it turned out he had only a cell phone. police chased clark to that backyard after getting reports of somebody breaking car windows. now police are asking the community to give them time to investigate. >> we are going to release facts as we get them. >> reporter: but protesters and clark's family are demanding justice. >> please give us justice. >> reporter: the family is now being represented by attorney

ben crump who also represented trayvon martin. >> since 2015, over 70 black men have been shot unarmed by police bullets. >> reporter: the two officers who fired are now on paid leave. police and prosecutors will decide if the shooting was justified. in the meantime, they are calling for calm. alex stone, abc news, los angeles. and atlanta is slowly recovering after a ransomware cyberattack. the attack forced workers to do certain things by hand instead of by computer. the mayor is not saying when she expects atlanta's computer network to be back to running normally. federal officials say the nation's flu epidemic is in a second wave. the cdc says more patients are now suffering from what it calls flu virus "b," the second strain of the virus tends to be more severe for younger children.

doctors say it is possible for those who have already had the flu to come down with another strain of it later in the same flu season. and even though we're already into spring, they say it is never too late to get that flu shot. a san francisco uber driver learned the hard way that you should not have blind faith in your gps. >> the driver only identified as fred, didn't want to give his last name, he wound up in a stairway at a supermarket parking lot. he said his gps sent him that way. fred and the two passengers are okay. and fred says the supermarket needs to change its lot so things like this don't happen again. >> it's the supermarket, they're the ones. that tricky parking lot with those tricky stairs. >> turn left, okay, staircase. >> i did once have a gps send me on to an off-ramp. >> and you did not, right? >> no, i did. and then i luckily turned around when i saw headlights coming at me. so it can happen to the best of us, fred. luckily everybody is okay.

one person died in a pileup on interstate 80 in eastern utah. nearly two dozen vehicles were involved in the series of five chain reaction accidents. the roads were icy and i-80 was shut down by the crashes. the problem in north texas and southern oklahoma was large hail causing damage to car windshields. a look at the forecast, more hail, severe thunderstorms and strong winds are likely overnight and through the day from the mexican border all the way into indiana. downpours could cause flooding in the southern plains. >> definitely want to be careful. and the pilot in the new york city helicopter crash now says a seat belt may have been the cause. >> the pilot says a passenger's safety harness may have tripped

evidence of the alleged threat, but she claims the alleged encounter is one reason she signed a $130,000 non-disclosure agreement with the president's personal lawyer michael cohen just 11 days before the election. cohen says he was acting on his own, but during the negotiations he used his trump organization e-mail address. the white house says the president didn't know about the payment. >> i can say the white house didn't engage in any wrongdoing. >> reporter: and the legal battles are far from over. after that interview aired, cohen sent daniels a cease and desist letter demanding a retraction and apology. daniels is now suing cohen for defamation and claiming the deal broke campaign finance law. megan hughes, abc news, washington. >> our thanks to megan hughes. the government's ethics chief has confirmed that white house officials are looking into a half a billion dollars in loans to jared kushner's family business.

kushner, the president's son-in-law and adviser came under scrutiny for holding meetings at the white house with top executives from citibank and another company behind the loans. the investigation was launched to see if kushner violated any laws or ethics rules. russia is vowing to retaliate as president trump expels 60 of its diplomats over moscow's alleged role in the poisoning of a former russian spy and his daughter. the russians were given a week to leave the united states and their consulate in seattle will be shut down. 20 other countries have joined the u.s. and uk in forcing out more than 130 russians in all. the white house says any future cooperation is in russian's hands. >> our relationship with russia is frankly up to the russian government and up to vladimir putin and others in senior leadership in russia. the president wants to work with russia, but their actions sometimes don't allow that to happen. >> most of the russians being expelled are believed to be

spies working under diplomatic cover. stocks across asia rallied overnight following a strong showing on wall street. the asian markets tacking on solid gains thanks to an easing of concerns about a trade war between china and the u.s. that was largely the same reason wall street opened the week with the dow surging nearly 670 points. the major u.s. averages all posted their best one day gain since august of 2015. looking ahead to today's trading, stock futures are all pointing toward a positive open. and there is speculation this morning that north korea's leader is making a surprise visit to china which would be his first foreign trip as a leader. that speculation is driven mostly by the appearance of this large motorcade in beijing. there has also been heavy security at locations where north korean leaders have stayed in the past. bob woodruff is there. >> reporter: right here a large motorcade was seen speeding

through downtown under heavy security and possibly carrying kim jung-un. if confirmed, this would be the first time kim has left north korea since taking over as dictator in 2011. japanese networks reporting that kim may have been on this armored train which had been the preferred way to travel outside of north korea by kim's father kim jong-il. kim's campaign to develop nuclear weapons and far ranging missiles that could reach the u.s. mainland has trained north korea's relations with china, its most important ally. this trip could improve that relationship just as president trump prepares for that highly anticipated meeting with kim jung-un in may. it is interesting that kim's visit to beijing is happening just days after president trump proposed tariffs against china. so this could strengthen his position when or if he meets president trump in may.

bob woodruff, abc news, beijing. the judge won't dismiss the case against the pulse night club gunman's widow despite a stunning revelation. an fbi official testified that the shooter's father was an fbi informant for more than a decade. noor salman's attorneys asked for a mistrial, but the judge ruled that it is not about salman's father-in-law but whether she aided her husband. omar mateen shot and killed 49 inside the club. and eric greitens is accused of transmitting a photo of a partially nude woman without her permission. the incident allegedly took place before he was governor. the republican had asked that a judge alone decide his case. philadelphia eagles defensive lineman michael bennett is free on $10,000 bond. he appeared in houston on
