yesterday. 65 to 68 with all that sunshine at lunch. even warmer this afternoon. the coast 63. mid to upper 70s for our bay and inder inland upper 60s around the bay and inland. a light breeze throughout the day. let's talk more about the commute with alexis. >> so far so good, mike. we're looking at the traffic maps with the visibility layer on top. as mike mentioned, a little fog is starting to form, especially in the novato area. the entire 101 corridor between santa rosa and san rafael. the brighter the white, the denser the fog. we'll continue to watch it this morning. westbound 205 to 580, down to 29 miles an hour. westbound 92 over the san mateo bridge, that's looking light this morning. overall, a great start. we'll check on drive times around 4:40. a deadly crash involving a tesla has the bay area automaker

pointing fingers. >> tesla says it's the worst damage they've seen on a model x and a missing highway barrier may be to blame. matt keller live in mountain view with the new details. hey, matt. >> reporter: good morning, natasha and reggie. tesla says one of the reasons it was so severe is because the barrier, known as a crash a ten way tore was not there when the crash took place on friday. the tesla offered up these photos as proof in a blog post that it put up overnight. this is an image of the barrier at the carpool flyover in mountain view. this shows what it looked like when it was in proper condition. this is what it looked like the day prior to the crash. these pictures come witness witnesses. tesla believed it was removed or crushed without being replaced. tesla says they've never seen this much damage to a model x.

the driver was killed. ntsb investigators want to know if the autopilot system was activated at the time of the crash. tesla says the data shows car owners have driven the same stretch of highway with autopilot engaged roughly 85,000 times since 2015. we put a link to the full blog post from tesla on our website, abc7news.com. reporting live in mountain view, matt keller. a man who drove his suv into several people at oakland international airport is facing felony reckless driving charges. investigators don't think he knew how to drive. but they're not calling it terrorism. abc 7 news reporter kate larsen has the story. investigators say the driver of this red mercedes hit the gas and skipped the curb at oakland airport. the suv hit three pedestrians on the sidewalk outside terminal one and flying luggage from the crash injured a fourth person.

sergeant ray kelly with the alameda county sheriff's office says a 54-year-old man is unlanced. >> his foot was was stuck on the accelerator and wasn't familiar with operating a motor vehicle they were quickly able to determine it was an sdwent and not sinister, like a suspect trying to run over people intentionally. it was closed to traffic for more than an hour after the wreck. deputies processed the scene. some travelers thought the worst when they first learned about what happened. >> terrorism possible attack. always that thought. >> she was traveling home to the bay area was pleased when she learned how they handled the incident. >> i'm happy they were on top of it and found out bhowho was thi individual. >> two of the four people injured were taken to the hospital and have minor to

moderate injuries and they're going to be okay. the airlines will work to accommodate passengers who were delayed in that traffic. kate larsen, abc 7 news. california step closer this morning to resuming executions. a marin county judge tentatively lifted an order blocking the state from carrying out squugss by lethal injection. in 2012, he ruled that officials failed to follow procedures in using a combination of three drugs to execute inmates. california plans to use a single doe dose of powerful barbiturates which addresses the judge's concerns. nearly 750 inmates are on death row at san quentin prison. the last execution in california was in 2006. the first trial filed by seniors in santa rosa assisted living facility. abc news reporter melanie woodrow broke the story last

year. they said they were abandoned by staff as flames approached. the press democrat reports the judge expedited the date of the lawsuit because of the advanced age of the plaintiffs. a discrimination suit. two women engineers claim that uber favored white men and asian employees over females and men of color. uber agrees to reform their -- you'll submit regular reports to the court on progress. ac transit's board of directors is holding a meeting as the agency prepares to launch service from the sales force transbay transit center. they will begin double decker bus operations this year. the first meeting at golden gate university in san francisco. the second meeting at ac transit general offices in oakland. the chp posted this video on

that his meeting went well and kim looks forward to meeting with me. in the meantime, maximum sanctions and pressure must be maintained at costs. what he's referring to are the latest sanctions imposed last month. abc news reporter serena marshall has more on kim jong-un's meeting in china. >> two powerful leaders side by side. north korea's kim jong-un traveling secretly to beijing at the invite of president kim told xi he's willing to have a dialog, hold a summit with president trump and denuclearization is possible. the visit marksist first time leaving north korea since his taking over -- who doesn't hide his distrust and called a preemptive strike on the north perfectly legitimate. >> question, how do you know that the north korean re seem is

lying? answer, their lips are moving. >> the closest ally -- shore up support for talks. abc bob woodruff in beijing. >> china is a player again. this could have a big impact on many negotiations. the question is will this help the u.s. or north korea? >> the visit only confirmed overnight and the white house said they see it as evidence that campaign of maximum pressure is working. a sentiment echoed by the south korean unification minister. but just as the word of the meeting spread, "the new york times" had these satellite images showing a new nuclear reactor in use. north korea insists it's intended to produce electricity, but it could be used to make one of the main fuels for nuclear weapons. kim is expected to meet the south korean president next month and in talks to meet with president trump in may. if that happens, it will be the first-ever face to face between a u.s. president and north

it's worked in 97% of mice in initial tests. researchers emphasize that it's not a cancer vaccine, per se. it's not effective for all forms of cancer. stanford is planning to run two trials with a total of 35 test patients. the mall in cupertino may be the first property to use a controversial new state law to speed up housing development. it calls for 2400 residential units at that mall, along with an office and retail complex. our media partner, the san jose mercury news reports val coe's owner submitted an application under a housing law passed last year. it fast tracks some that include a larger percentage of affordable housing. it could force them to approve the development. children with cancer can become movers, shakers and makers. they were at the stanford campus for the unveil of maker space. a high tech therapy unit gives them a chance to work with

a quick check of our traffic maps, too. seeing green mostly all the way around here and just a few minutes ago, we were seeing fog in the north bay between santa rosa and san rafael especially through the novato area. you could see a little reduced visibility along that 101 corridor this morning. we'll check on light drive times at 5:00. thanks, alexis. an urgent call to beach-goers to stay away. the marine center in sausalito is responding to an increased amount of pups. they rescued 11 pups over the weekend. they needed to be raised after being abandoned by their mothers. they saw 60 cases of abandonment. it's usuallyer usually curious humans and their pets to blame. >> it's normal for it to be left on the beach while its mom is foraging and looking for food. if it's surrounded by people, the mom is not going to come
