she had been charged with helping her husband in the 2016 attack. her husband died after he interinte entered the club and opened fire. prosecutors had argued that salman knew about her husband's guns and his obsession for muslim extremist videos, they also told the jury that salman was aware of her husband's intention to attack a given location. but she is also a woman with a low iq who was abused by her husband and had no knowledge of her plans. she had faced a sentence of up to life in prison. when she heard the verdict, she began sobbing. her uncle told reporters that he

another officer who helped wrestle sterling to the ground. still no sign of children believed to be inside a vehicle that went over a cliff in mendicino county earlier this week. on monday authorities discovered the bodies of five members of the hart family from washington state inside their vehicle that plummeted into the pacific. that accident happened three days after social services investigators began looking into reports of child neglect that came from neighbors. >> 1:30 in the morning, the doorbell's ringing, and i answered the door and then she was standing out there in a blanket. >> her daughter's telling us, please, please, please, begging us not to make her go back and that they were abusing her. >> they finally called authorities after the girl showed up three days in a row looking for food.

resigned today after a series of problems plaguing the city's fire prevention bureau. he was criticized for not cracking down on hazards reported in the ghost ship warehouse, that fire that left dozens of people dead. darrin white will now assume the role of fire marshall until a replacement is found. we have a few clouds, high thin clouds, and right now it is 76 degrees here in san francisco, 75 across the bay in oakland. 80 in hayward, 83 up in clover dale, 81 in livermore, so we still have some low 80s in some of our locations. 24-hour temperature change reveals that a little bit of cooling has taken place. and san francisco are all five degrees cooler right now than they were at this time yesterday, 2 degrees cooler in oakland, but it's 1 degree warmer down in san jose.

arnold schwarzenegger is recovering from open heart surgery, the actor and politician underwent a procedure to replace a heart valve that was first replaced in 1997. he's in stable condition. his publicist says his first words after the procedure was, i'm back. an east bay county's -- the contra costa county sheriff's office puts that personal information on its website. in theory, this could make it easier for immigration officers to pick those people up. the contra costa immigrant rights alliance says we unequivocally condemn sheriff livingston's harmful practice of making public personal information of people in the jail's custody. given the timing, this is simply a cruel attempt to undermine the california values act. many american diplomats

medallion was a license to run your own business. but san francisco decided to sell 200 medallions at $260,000 each. that was before uber and lyft flooded the streets. >> nothing. >> reporter: nothing? abraham figured he could make money by leasing it and eventually selling it. now she's paying close to $2,000 on the mortgage for it. >> i blame the city and the state too. >> reporter: so does the san francisco federal credit union which originally made a deal with the initial transport agency to finance those loans. one >> no one's suggesting exactly what the mta should have done, just that they needed to have done a whole lot more than they did. >> the city attorney's office has no comment on the suit, except to say that they are reviewing it.

east bay congressman mark desonnier right now. we both love the east bay, and we're both battling allergies today. speaking of which, the trump administration wants the environmental protection agency to roll back emissions standards that were put in effect the obama administration to mitigate climate change. >> i have a lot of history in this, i have served three governors in the california resources board. the clean air act gives california waivers, so it lets us go beyond the national standards based on public health. so the idea that they're going to force us back would eliminate decades of good work. >> this presents a unique situation and kind of an odd one for car makers, because there's a lot of states that follow

california. so it would be weird for war makers to follow two different emissions rules. >> the way the car rules work, they're profitable, the u.s. taxpayers gave them over $80 billion to save them during this recession. they have a business model that's working right now. >> on the subject of cars, where are you with the autonomous vehicle testing, we have had a couple of unfortunate high profile tragedies lately. >> this is amazing technology, but we have got to make sure it's safe, particularly with the interaction with pedestrians and cars that are traditionally driven. we have to make sure the cars are as safe as they can be. >> how can you make sure they're safe? because you want to test in real life conditions? >> we have a site in my district that we got more federal money for, so they're testing on that old closed air force base that
