warm end today. it will be mild but we'll look for the forecast to change throughout the next several days. details coming up. a peaceful day of protests in sacramento escalated after a sheriff's patrol car hit a protester. activists came together to repeat the call that they've been sharing for several days -- they want two officers to be held responsible for the shooting of stephon clark two weeks ago. but the protests grew confrontational when marchers tried to block traffic. you can see deputies driving along a street when a sheriff's vehicle ended up hitting a protester. authorities confirm the person hit is in stable condition. the chp is opening an investigation into the incident. there are no reports of any arrests. earlier in the day, former warrior matt barnes held a peaceful rally for police accountability. protesters have shut down kings games several times since the shooting. last night the warriors played at golden one center in downtown sacramento. abc 7 news was there.

>> reporter: sports and social issues intersect in sacramento following the deadly police shooting of stephon clark. former golden state warrior, matt barnes, hosted a rally for police accountability. >> one, because i'm from here. i've walked these same streets. i've had these same encounters with police before. >> reporter: the basketball arena has been a frequent site of protests following the march 18th incident where two officers shot and kill clark in his grandmother's backyard. they were looking for someone who was breaking car windows. >> show your hands! gun gun gun! >> reporter: a cell phone was found near clark's body -- no gun. warriors fan michael fikes attended the rally before heading to the warriors/kings game. >> the guys don't just need to shut up and dribble. it is bigger than that. they have the pulpit. they have the voice for people to listen. yeah. they need to speak out. >> warriors and kings fans are streaming into the golden one center, the entrance way behind

me. you can see all the security around mere. it is about three times what's normal. these barricades are in place to keep protesters from shutting down the entrances. coach steve kerr said the team is in town to compete but that doesn't mean they're silent. >> as a team we're very socially aware and active. we got a lot of players who do a lot of good in the community and who care about what's going on. we all care about what's happening here. >> i'm in the process of starting a clark boys college scholarship fund to make sure these boys go to school. >> reporter: he held clark's son as he announced it. tesla drivers are telling us how they feel about the company's admission that one of its model x cars was on auto pilot during a fatal crash on highway 101 nine days ago. the

reacting. >> reporter: this woman is blind. her brother-in-law bought this tesla model x because it is the only car that allows her to know exactly what's going on. >> i feel safe this this car because it alerts us as to what we should do. >> reporter: the very same model crashed last friday. the driver, an apple engineer, died. tesla revealed the car was in auto pilot when it crashed, but these two said they still feel safe. >> people need to understand that it's not -- that you can just get in this and this car is just going to do -- it is a miracle car. it's not. it's a car that you can put it on auto pilot, but you also have to use your common -- basic common sense. >> i think auto pilot is safe but you can be put on auto pilot and watch tv or watch -- and not give any credence to the signals that they provide. >> reporter: a statement released late friday on the company's blog says the driver had received several visual and

one audible hands-on warning earlier in the drive and the drivers hands were not detected on the while for six seconds prior to the collision. >> i'm not too worried but i think use it the way it is designed. it is still in early technology. >> reporter: driver daniel lawless says the auto pilot feature is the reason he bought a tesla. he says he's still always in control and the car alerts you if you take your hands off the wheel for too long. >> i'll use it but i got my hands on the wheel, i'm watching the road. >> reporter: drivers say car will even slow down and shut off if a driver ignores the warnings. they agree the system is not perfect. >> you have to strike a balance of paying attention on the road. >> reporter: an the i-team reported, drivesafe.org says tesla bears the responsibility. >> we have exclusive i-team reports about the tesla crash on

abc7news.com. click on sections, on the i-team link as dan noyes takes a closer look. a san jose father who's facing deportation has been granted a reprieve. abc 7 news has learned that fernan fernando carrillo was arrested by i.c.e. agents after the fall. the undocumented immigrant won his freedom after an immigration judge ruled it would not be safe for him to return to mexico. there is a press conference at i.c.e. headquarters on monday to celebrate. president trump is criticizing california's governor for pardoning five ex-convicts who face deportation. in a tweet yesterday, the president referred to the governor as jerry "moonbeam" brown and said the ex-convict's charges included kidnapping and robbery, domestic violence and drug dealing. the governor's office had no comment about the tweet. a beach is now closed on ah's big island after a person

was attack by a shark near kona. a 25-year-old man suffered multiple injuries to his hand and leg yesterday morning. he was flown to a hospital where he is being treated. officials say they'll look at re-opening the beach once they've had a chance to look out for any sharks later this morning. happening today, welcome the spring season at the annual union street parade in san francisco. it runs from 10:00 this morning until 5:00 tonight on union street. the parade starts at 2:00 and the mayor is this year's grand marshal. earlier this morning people gathered for san francisco's grandest easter tradition on mt. davidson. every year there is a none denomination and service as sunrise. at one point it was broadcast nationally in the past. the first sunrise service on mt.

varsity soccer team. they won the northern california division 3 championship. >> we rose from the ashes of our school and we did it all together. like we all really wanted it and we all put our hearts into it. >> reporter: half of their school burned in october during the tubbs fires and 6 of the 20 players on the team lost their homes. >> soccer for me was like an escape. without soccer i don't know if i would have been able to get through it. >> reporter: getting through it wasn't easy. their living situations were unstable. their school was in shambles. and they practiced anywhere they could, including in parking lots. these are all reasons why the earthquakes wanted to honor these girls. >> you think about kids practicing in the rain on concrete or tar and figuring out what they can do and driving hours and carpooling hours to get to practice fields is something that's incredible to think about. >> with this soccer season now officially over, it will resumes once again in october. by then cardinal newman will have a brand-new soccer field.

scientists say it is hard to know where a chinese space station will land when it falls back to earth but they have an estimate of when it will land. the european space agency believes the tiangong-1 will likely land in the next several hours, likely in the pacific. >> most of it will tuburn up in re-entry. the chance of anyone getting hit is really very, very remote. >> the chinese space station is not the only human-made object in space. you are looking at a map experts built showing the tens of thousands of pieces of space junk that surround the earth. 9:15. happening today, thousands of shoe fanatics in the bay area will converge on sneaker-con. people will buy, sell and trade some of the hottest shoes. organizers expect 10,000 people and 500

upper 60s should be the high. should be a nice afternoon. up in napa, the look ahead shows the mildest weather today at 76. well above average. numbers coming down and going back up a bit. but we will see dry and sunny weather through wednesday. clouds increase on thursday. then by friday and saturday, it is getting pretty interesting. i talked about rain in the sierra nevada. rain by the afternoon thursday. as we go into friday, still heavier rain to the north. this is friday evening. but then into saturday and sunday, boy, looks pretty genero generous, doesn't it? looking at about an inch and a laugh to two inches of rain by late saturday, into early sunday. so stay tuned to the forecast. things will change. it is a good six days out. 75 in san jose today. 72 in sunnyvale and on the peninsula with the mid and upper 60s, should be a nice afternoon. these are the readings by 3:00, 4:00.

on why regulators are fighting back. >> beta taylor politely hung up on a sales person. this vallejo man does almost the same thing every day. so dalton williams has gotten into the habit of not picking up calls from unknown area codes. >> and if i don't recognize it, well then i just let it go to the answering machine. >> reporter: reactions like that have prompted solicitors to disguise their call on your caller i.d. as a local one. the federal communications commission calls it neighbor spoofing. >> because of advances in technology right now, it is actually very easy for them to send false caller i.d. information along with the call. >> reporter: the fcc says sometimes the caller i.d. is a bogus number. but other times it belongs to someone who doesn't know their number has been spoofed. linda eckman of san francisco realized that when she called back the number that came up on her caller i.d.

i called somebody else because they called me. they said they didn't call. linda's number has already been spoofed. somebody saying i called them. i'm saying, nope. >> reporter: beta says calls like these make people irritable and defensive. >> no, i didn't call you. why are you calling me? there is an edge to it because everybody's inconvenienced by an unwanted or an unsolicited call. >> reporter: in all of 2017, the federal communications commission received 4,000 complaints about spoofing. now, after just three months this year, the number of complaints is on pace to double. >> so generally the pumps of spoof something two-fold. number one, they're engaged in scams and it it is harder to trace back who is doing the scam. >> two, they're trying to trick you into picking up the call. last year the fcc levied $200,000 in fines on telemarketers accused of spoofing. the finds were the first of its

kind. now regulators are working with providers to develop technology to authentic legitimate calls and block spoofed ones. as of january 1st, phone companies are now able to block calls when the caller i.d. information comes from invalid phone numbers. now we contacted verizon, t-mobile, sprint and at&t, and only at&t committed to voluntarily blocking those calls. the other providers pointed to their "antispam technology" which customers must opt into and sometimes pay to get. i'm michael finney. 7 on your side. a concord police officer was taken by surprise yesterday morning when he ran into this rattlesnake. his experience prompted a timely reminder from fellow officers who are encouraging anyone who is out searching for easter eggs today to be careful. snake season has begun and that means we are likely to see more of the rattlers out and about, especially as it warms up in the morning. 9:25. a florida homeowner found a

surprise visitor in a swimming pool on friday night. take a look at this. an 11-foot-long alligator was floating in the water. the sarasota county sheriff's office posted this video of the reptile on its facebook page. gator began swimming away as it struggled to avoid capture. the deputy managed to drag the gator out of the pool with the help of a trapper. they got it off the property with a door to the swimming pool. it is unclear where the gator came from and how it ended up in the pool. still to come on abc 7 mornings, president trump goes after amazon again over postal deliveries. what the president is now saying about the online

tracking weather conditions where you live. >> a little hazy, a little foggy in spots around the bay. but from san francisco you can still see the city. temperatures are in the 50s for the most part, downtown 54. 48 in gilroy. from the east bay hills camera, looks nice with the green hills there. we'll see more rain to keep it green but not for today. 46 santa rosa. 57 concord. 51 in livermore. so the next hour we'll see more 60s arrive around the bay. then throughout the afternoon, yellows come into play. warming up into the mid 70s again for inland valleys, even up into santa rosa. by 7:00 tonight we are looking cool. pleasant with 60s around. by 10:00, slipping through the 50s. dry the next several days, then the rain comes back. should be pretty interesting here this time next weekend with rainfall amounts that will be pretty impressive.

i'll have the details coming up. breaking news in marin county. the chp is investigating a hit and run this morning that left a woman dead. the victim was found at around 6:00 this morning on highway 101 just north of interstate 580. the chp is working to follow up with any possible witnesses and is checking the area for any cameras or other recording devices. president trump is escalating his fight with the online retail giant amazon. he called out twitter, as well as "the washington post" which is the newspaper owned by amazon's ceo, jeff bezos. >> reporter: president trump was in florida for a relaxing golf weekend but he can't seem to get amazon off his mind. lashing out at the company's billionaire founder jeff bezos falsely accusing him of ripping off the u.s. postal service tweeting the u.s. post office loses 1.50 o'average for

we are taking a live look outside from our east bay hills camera. you can see, we are off to a pretty pleasant start throughout the bay area with mild conditions out there. but there are some changes on the way. meteorologist lisa argen will be back with more on that coming up in just is a little bit. but first, happening today -- a tradition in san francisco like no other -- the one and only big wheel race deep the deepest and windiest street in the city. this is where people take big wheels, giant plastic tricycles, and race down 20th and vermont. organizers carved out an hour this afternoon just for kids to enjoy the fun from 3:00 until 4:00. the course is all theirs. at 4:00, adults take on hill. it is free to watch but you have to register in order to race. one of the things that that race is known for, lisa, the wipe-outs. >> crashes. all right. well, we're going to have a beautiful day today to just chill out and enjoy the weather

saturday night's jackpot grows up to $60 million. numbers from last night's $22 million super lotto plus drawing -- nobody picked all six in that drawing either so wednesday's jackpot goes up to $23 million. a special easter event filling a football field is under way in the south bay. thousands of people are taking part in the epic easter egg drop in san jose. the easter bunny is there for pictures. registration is free but there is a suggested donation of at least $3 per child encouraged. the event runs until 1:00 this afternoon at oak grove high school on blossom hill road. if you're in the south bay, want an option to go out and get some eggs, there you go. before they're all gone. right? >> yes. a beautiful day out there. plenty of sunshine. the onshore flow will bring a cooldown for our inland valleys. 63 san mateo.
