backpacks that they were given. the idea is to make it harder to smuggle weapons into the school, but some students say medications or feminine hygiene products will also be on display. they also point out that the school hasn't decided yet whether to install metal detectors. and students at howard university in washington, d.c. are also protesting. they are occupying the administration building in the sixth day of a sit-in. issues include an overhaul of the school's response to sexual assault, they also want the school's president to resign after not revealing for six months a scandal in the financial aid office. >> the president has not seen -- has not been seen here, he has not spoken to us, he has made it clear that he is not willing to listen to the demands of the students currently occupying the building. >> the university has already agreed to some of their demands particularly crashing housing. more talks are scheduled for today and there is hope that the sit-this will end. now to a violence collision

at a train crossing in georgia. a semi truck got stuck as a freight train was approaching. that is how that played out. the train plowing right into the truck ripping it apart. the driver wasn't in the cab at the time, so there were no injuries. there is a warning on the pavement that says trucks shouldn't cross at that location. police in southern california chased a guy driving a stolen box truck for 15 miles. the truck slowed down after the driver drove the truck over some spike strips. eventually he pulled over on the freeway and jumped out while the truck was still moving slowly. ran across several lanes of traffic, but finally taken into custody at gunpoint. the stolen truck was empty. >> don't really think of a box truck as a good getaway vehicle. >> yeah, you don't look at that and go yeah, want to get away. >> not very aerodynamic. >> at least he survived that part. that is scary. >> glad to see that one ended
