youtube's campus turned to chaos. >> people running away from the building. >> employees targeted. >> seven to eight shots being fired. >> shooter, disgruntled youtuber. >> people like me are not good for big businesses. >> who is encounter with police this morning. good evening, thanks for joining us, i'm ama daetz. >> i'm eric thomas for dan ashley. shooter identified as nasim aghdam, opened fire before 1:00 this afternoon. police were in contact with her. >> police tell us they found nasim aghdam sleeping in car in parking lot this morning, spoke to her and ran plates, realized

she was reported missing from southern california, notified family that she had been found but haven't said further action. aghdam was familiar with youtube and ended up at headquarters soon with a gun. exercise videos. music videos, content about animals and going vegan. hundreds of videos across multiple channels in several languages. some poking fun at youtube platform. >> make stupid videos. more stupid video,s more successful you will be. >> nobody knew who she was when she walked on campus carrying a purse. fired 30 to 40 shots before turning gun on herself. most recently lived in this house in riverside county. lived with parents and husband or boyfriend and didn't leave

much. >> did some painting on the house. stuff like that. very nice people. >> aghdam has a website with manifesto that targets youtube for demonetizing her videos, quotes hitler and accuses youtube of suppressing her content. >> not the only one. >> embedded videos belonging to other youtube stars talking about the youtube ad pock causes people to lose ad money because of a new youtube policy. several hours after the shooting youtube terminated many of her channels posting they violated youtube policies. back to you. dozens of officers from police, sheriffs office, chp, atf and fbi descended on the youtube campus when shooting

happened. dion lim from san bruno. >> reporter: eric and ama, the area around the youtube campus remains closed as investigators piece together details of exactly what happened. >> one >> reporter: chaos and terror heard on the police dispatcher describing the scene before 1:00, female gunman barged on to campus, injuring three before killing herself with self-inflicted wounds. >> hearts go out to those who suffered. >> reporter: walked out with hands over head. entering to find loved ones, turned away. suspect nasim aghdam, youtuber entered armed with hand gun.

another tragedy in the city still recovering from 2010 gas pipeline explosion. today people in the community came to the aid of victims injured and running from the shooter. live with more, katie >> reporter: despite the shock, people living near the campus didn't hesitate to help. found themselves surrounded by youtube employees, some of them bleeding. >> it's scary. never seen that happen close to us. really scary. >> reporter: ran for their lives. some found safety inside carl's jr. >> put her in there, grabbed napkins and put them on her leg. >> reporter: worker at hashes and brews also took in walking wounded. >> shot in lower ankle. put them in restaurant, gave them towels, band-aids, tried to
