what happened here yesterday. and during that shooting, all of the employees here, 200 employees were evacuated, hands over their heads. those looking to re-enter the campus to find loved ones were turned away. the response from law enforcement was swift. san bruno police arrived on the scene two minutes after the initial 911 calls. they alongside others and the s.w.a.t. team meticulously scoured the building room by room. we just spoke with the police chief from san bruno and he had something to say about what was found in her car. >> we haven't completed a thorough search of the vehicle. we don't know if anything is in there. that went to the crime lab for processing. it will be a slow process. if there is any type of letter or manifesto, we don't know. a, if there is one, and b if there is one, what it says. >> reporter: police say are still investigating the motive but say there's no evidence that the three people still hospitalized this morning were specifically targeted.

reporting live in san bruno, matt keller, abc 7 news. >> matt, thank you. >> if you're not familiar, it's on cherry avenue in san bruno off interstate 380. it's just a few miles from sfo. here's another look. many of the workers at youtube ran to the bay hill shopping center, right across the street. despite the shock of it all, people who work near the headquarters didn't hesitate to help. they found themselves surrounded by terrified employees, some bleeding chlg abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has more on that. >> it's very scary. we never saw that happen, something close to us. it's really scary. >> youtube employees ran for their lives, some found safety inside of a carl's jr. off campus. >> put inside the carl's jr., inside the door. grabbed napkins, put them on her leg. >> was shot on her lower ankle.

put them in the restaurant and gave them towels, band aids, tried to calm them down. >> it was chaos inside youtube when the shots rang out. an employee told me after the gunfire, he heard screaming and saw people running. he ran too, toward the nearest exit, which turned out to be toward the shooter. a co-worker bleeding from her chin ran toward him saying she's behind us. together, they took off in the opposite direction and barricaded themselves in a conference room. >> for the residents of san bruno, this has got to be a nerve racking additional experience. >> san bruno's city manager referencing the pg&e pipeline explosion. she said the community needs to stay strong. >> to prepare and be able to respond to the most unimaginable situations. >> reporter: those involved still can't believe this situation happened here. in san bruno, katie marzullo, abc 7 news. right after the shooting at

the suspect and injured him. he was taken to the hospital. no officers were hurt. new details this morning on the large four-alarm fire that ripped through a north beach building in san francisco. some firefighters now say supervisor aaron peskin appeared to be intoxicated when he criticized officials at the scene. the chronicle reports in internal memos, jonathan baxter stated he looked intoxicated. two other ranking firefighters stated in separate memos that they smelled alcohol on the supervisor. peskin was at the scene on union street and called for fire chief johan hayes white to resign. he felt they should have been spraying the water sooner. he later apologized. a jury convicted coors. he was charged with leaving the
