three right lanes closed. north 87 before 101. it does start to slow right here. it's moving pretty nicely. let's take a look elsewhere with the sikh aleg-alert near concor. jack-knifed big rig in the process of being moved. process is slow with lookie loos from pittsburgh towards concord for a 35-minute ride in that stretch. we do have the slow traffic southbound 880 near industrial because of an earlier accident there. standing water to be worried about this morning. again, multiple incidents out on the roadways. >> or just stay home. >> on the north bay, some areas expecting up to 6 inches of rain the next couple of days. >> the impact scale, one of the areas of concern, the vulnerable case -- alyssa harrington live in santa rosa this morning.

good morning, alyssa. >> reporter: good morning. i'm in the fountain grove area. one of the neighborhoods devastated by the wildfires. this used to be a house but now it's an empty lot. the rain is coming down and the big concern here is debris flows and mudslides. that's what emergency official rs concerned about. many will be monitoring the creeks and waterways near the burn zones. >> this is one of the more severe and high intensity rainfall events of the season we've experienced so far. we are expecting potentially flood batters but definitely -- waters but definitely runoff from the burned areas. >> reporter: they installed 12 new sensors along the sonoma county watershed that will measure precipitation and rainfall. meanwhile, in santa rosa, construction continued in the fountain grove neighborhood on new homes. yesterday, abc 7 news saw crews laying foundation and crews then were not too concerned about the

incoming atmospheric river. now what we're experiencing now is just a lot of rain. we're getting wet out here. fountain grove is a steep hill. people at the bottom seeing that rain rushing down the street and of course, there are concerns of flooding, mudslides and debris flow. reporting live in santa rosa, alyssa harrington, abc 7 news. >> you can see the doppler just lit up in green this morning. santa cruz county put out warnings for people who live in the mountains to be ready for flooded streets, downed trees, power outages. abc 7 news was in felton as the family was clearing out their garage ahead of the storm. they're trying to get everything two feet off of the ground. joanne says she lost enough in the 2017 flood. free sand for sandbags always available. the county does not anticipate the rivers and streams will overflow their banks but they will be carefully watched.

poorly drained areas, burn scars could let go of some debris flows in those areas. here's a look at the temperatures. we're mainly in the mid to upper 50s in the north bay. clear lake the exception at 51 degrees. temperatures about the same everywhere this morning. it's very mild. but this is what you're going to find everywhere. it is raining and it will continue to rain all day today. poor for about any outdoor activity, with you're out andb the wet weather gear. whether you're exercising. jumping the puddles. at the coast, it's going to rain all day. san francisco, temperatures in the upper 50s from 8:00 this morning all the way through 10:00 tonight. look at it rains every hour. same thing in the south bay. rain every hour from 8:00 this morning to 8:00 this evening. temperatures in the low to mid-60s for the better part of the afternoon and evenings hours. lots of accidents. here's some of them. >> 38 to be exact. the last count. mike, you showed the golden gate bridge a second ago. i thought i would take the time to let folks know that the

sidewalks on the golden gate bridge sunday morning will be shut down due to the rock 'n roll half marathon happening there. now we go back to concord with this sig-alert. it's been a problem with a jack-knifed big rig. fortunately, it's in the eastbound highway 4 direction near port chicago and willow pass road gets you on to highway 4 eastbound past the scene of the accident. westbound, though, we're seeing flow from pittsburg to highway 242. northbound 87 before highway 101, that accident still has the right lane blocked. the other lanes have been reopened. but you're seein stacked up now beyond 880 and the northbound 87 side of things. puddling, pooling, lots of problems out there continuing southbound 880 near industrial. traffic is stacked up now back almost towards oakland on the southbound 880 side. give yourself plenty of time this morning. we'll check back in just a few. >> sue, thank you. developing news this morning. police throughout the bay area

are still looking for a man considered armed and dangerous. the search for dustin hamilton caused major concern yesterday. the 34-year-old stole guns from his parents' home in san jose and threatened to kill san francisco police officers in a 20-page manifesto. hamilton named an apartment building, 501 delancey street as his target. he lived across the street in a homeless encampment that police cleared out earlier this week. yesterday the neighborhood was put on lockdown after false reports that he opened fire. police searched the area but did not find him. so far zero homicides this year. what they're crediting for the change. change. so this guy brought one to lighteup this watch party. sexually assaulting a woman. they have reason to believe there are more victims. this wan, juan ruiz was arrested. a woman said he raped year. 6:17 now. a new campaign under way to make middle schools cell phone-free spaces. the away for the day initiative was launched last week to promote policies that require cell phones to be put away for the school day in places like lockers. it stems from screen agers, it's a film focusing on teens' obsessions with computer screens and the impact it has on a child's development. nearly 2900 people have pledged support on president initiative's website. it's really interesting. >> having said that, you might want your phone around today because your forecast is on there. we have live doppler 7 on there. in case there is an emergency, that's the way that you'll be alerted. >> get your push alerts.

absolutely. there could be a few more. we've had one this morning for standing water up in the north bay. marin and sonoma county was under a flood advisory or they were until 5:30 this morning. that could happen again. got to keep an eye on this. san rafael, it's raining right now. nearly half an inch of rain there. steady rain and breezes continue through tomorrow morning. moderate to heavy impulses and locally gusty conditions will develop during this event. i promise you sunshine and dry weather for sunday into monday. today, because this is coming from the sub tropics, it's very moist. but also pretty mild. 62 degrees in half moon bay. vallejo, fairfield and lakeport on the cool side. everybody else, 63 to 68 degrees. one of our better radar returns in yountville towards napa. this is sliding off to the east, southeast. it's going to head towards fairfield pretty quickly. pushing out of the south bay right now into the southeast

corner around eden vael towards hamilton, that's where moderate rain returns. look at this fetch of moisture in the area of low pressure that comes through and squeezes it tonight and make an uptick in that rain. in fact, look at this. by 7:00, yellows and oranges. that signifies moderate rain. an impulse of red there even. moving through the santa cruz mountains before lunch. we'll have steady light rain for the rest of the day into the early evening hours. overnight, the cold front rolls through and that's when we get the best chance of heavy rain and gusty winds. rainfall amounts up to an inch in the south bay, 2.5 in the -- we could have up to 5 inches in the mountains. temperatures near 80 inland monday before a slight chance of rain for tuesday and wednesday. nothing like today, though, sue. >> yes. 37 incidents on the chp log. we can't get to all of them. we'll try to get you through the worst areas. here we go with a lot oftraffic

headed past golden gate fields into the macarthur maze. you have a 38-minute drive headed from hercules highway 4 all the way into san francisco right now along the 80 corridor. we still have this traffic alert with a jack-knifed big rig. it's been out there most of the morning eastbound direction. highway 4 near port chicago. you can get around that by getting on willow pass road. willow pass on ramp to highway 4 eastbound is past the accident. westbound, though, we are seeing very slow traffic from pittsburg into the concord area. we had this earlier accident northbound 17 near idle wild. that's been the blocking one lane of traffic. it's been just now pushed off to the shoulder. the green sensors are showing better conditions as you make your way towards the san jose side of things on northbound 17. again, standing water, our abc 7 matt keller has been up there with the rain coming down steadily. we'll hear from him in a little bit. in the meantime, standing water is the big problem. take care. thank you, sue.

you can see what we're seeing. this is on highway 17. we haven't seen the intense downpours. but a flood watch has been issued. but the flood control management team will be monitoring. they put out warnings for people in the mountains to be ready for flooded streets and power outages. >> stay off the roadways if you have no reason to be outside in the elements. stay home. be prepared for potential power outages. we have wind coming with this event as well. >> reporter: people are preparing by making sure they have enough batteries for flashlights and radios and also extra food and water. i just checked the pg&e website. i saw that there is an outage. 142 customers without power in the bolder creek area off of highway 9. if you're in that yar and come across bolder creek and there are top lights there, want to be

extra careful around the stoplights. treat them as four-way stops if they're out of power. reporting live, matt keller, abc 7 news. 6:34 now. sonoma county officials urging people living near burned out areas to keep their cell phones nearby. it will make it easier to receive alerts. sensors placed in a creek northwest of santa rosa will help officials monitor the flooding danger. the creek is in the part of the burn area from october's wildfires >> the national park area says it's closing yosemite valley starting at 5:00 today. the park service issued an alert urging anyone planning a trip to yosemite to do something else instead. all campgrounds and visitor lodging in yosemite valley will close this afternoon. >> the rain is expected to wash out the giants game at at&t park. the giants are scheduled to play the dodgers at 7:00 right in the middle of a downpour. there have been only five rainouts since the park opened in 2000.

youtube was slashing her income generated from videos like these. you can watch the entire interview on "good morning america" starting in just half an hour at 7:00 a.m. after abc 7 mornings. thanks, jessica. more on that story. san bruno police say that the gun range where she practiced before the shooting contacted authorities after recognizing aghdam on the news. investigators say she emptied her weapon when she opened fire at youtube and reloaded it. she wounded three people before killing herself. the 9 millimeter smith & wesson used was purchased legally in san diego and was registered in her name. developing news in fremont. a wanted man died in a shootout with police. >> the suspect was wanted on felony warrants. he was spotted by undercover agents on fremont boulevard and nicolette avenue. he was a passenger in day car. when officers stopped the car, the suspect got out and ran towards this gas station. officials say he pointed a gun at an officer and shots were fired. more officers confronted him as he ran around the gas station.

suspect eventually got hit and died at the scene. a revolver with spent casings were found at the suspect's side. this is the fifth fatal police shooting in fremont since february of last year. >> we continue to see violent suspects who will really do anything it takes to get away from officers if that means pulling guns and shooting at them or ramming patrol cars. running police officers over. it's really startling. the level of violence that the suspects are demonstrating towards our officers. >> no officers were hurt in the shootout. seven of them were involved and they've all been placed on administrative leave, which is standard protocol. fremont had three deadly officer shootings last year during thee months. officers shot and killed a man after responding to a call of a disturban disturbance. the following month a pregnant 16-year-old girl was shot and

killed while officers tried to stop a stolen car. a man was killed by police during a chase on fremont boulevard. officers were assisting regional park police at the time. homeowner had to jump out of a second story window to escape this house fire in east san jose. five other adults and three are displaced. from the video, it looks like the home will be a total loss. it happened before midnight near capital expressway and a born road. it took firefighters an hour and a half to fight this. the injuries are minor. he was hospitalized. no word yet on a cause. you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. want to show you the visibility. one of the issues is what would squeeze the moisture out of air. the fog is forming because it's hanging in the air waiting for something to trigger it into dropping. that big trigger will be the cold front that comes through tonight into tomorrow morning. until then, we can still have

hanging around the low 60s through 8:00. there also with rain every single day. the rain will be the heaviest tonight as the cold front comes through. you wake up tomorrow morning, your yard could be a little debris-filled. in fact, i ran over debris on my way to work as some of the trees lost their leaves. tomorrow we'll be in the mid to upper 50s. mild again. the big story besides weather is standing next to me. how many indents? >> down to 33. >> almost up to 40 incidents this morning with the chp. i'll tell you, my yard is loving this rain. it's not good for commuting. i can tell you that. we do have moderate traffic leaving san rafael. southbound on 101. brake lights there just a little bit past the civic center. otherwise, you're looking pretty good out of novato this morning. chp out on a lot of flood calls. when you get yourself towards lucky drive, southbound on 101 in core da madera. also in the northbound

flooding. let's get to alyssa harrington. she's live with a look at the conditions right now. alyssa? >> reporter: yeah. well this storm is going to test this area. i'm here in the fountain grove neighborhood of santa rosa. one of the areas absolutely devastated by the north bay wildfires just six months ago. now, this area still looks like a fire zone. we have burned trees and empty lots where homes used to be. there's still the risk of debris flow and mudslides. that is what emergency officials are going to be worried about today. some of the higher elevations could get as many as 6 inches in the next couple of days. so what's going to happen emergency crews will monitor creeks near the burn zones. the sonoma county water agency installed new sensors along the sonoma county watershed to measure precipitation and rainfall. >> hopefully we can prevent damage or threats to life. you know, if floods are coming, we're not going to be able to

say we can't stop the flood flows. but we can give people warning when we start to have flood stages. >> reporter: now, yesterday when abc 7 was in the same area, our crews found construction work moving forward on a lot of these homes in the area. today we haven't seen anybody out herement wouldn't be surprised if, of course, they're taking the day off because of this weather. fountain grove, anybody here, they know this is a very, very steep hill that goes to the neighborhoods at the bottom of the hill. a lot of people will be worried about what type of runoff they will be getting. of course, the hope is that everything is fine. but there is that concern -- there's concerns about flooding and debris runoff and mudslides. reporting live in santa rosa, alyssa harrington, abc 7 news. thank you. watch now as a car with three suspects inside crashes into a tanker truck in southern california. the suspects left the scene on foot but police took them into custody not long after this. two of them were seen limping as

they were getting arrested. the third suspect was caught trying to get into other vehicles before he was stopped by police. ufc fighter conor mcgregor is expected in court after this rampage at the barclay's center in brooklyn. he's facing three counts of assault for throwing a dolly at a bus filled with people. he was upset over an earlier conflict involving one of his teammates. dana white called it the most disgusting thing he's ever seen in the ufc. >> that's something else. president trump launching into a tirade on immigration and voter frauding during an event that was supposed to be about tax reform. >> the president literally threw out his prepared remarks in west virginia yesterday. there he goes. he talks about the caravan of migrants making their way through mexico to seek political asyl asylum. he suggests there's rampant cases of rape, and that mexicans are rapists. >> remember my opening remarks

time for your money report. >> china playing hardball with tariffs this morning saying it will fight the u.s. at any cost. this all comes after president trump proposed $100 billion in new tariffs on china, which was in retaliation to china's $50 billion export tariff. the president's latest tariff threat was met with criticism from members of his own republican party. nebraska senator ben sassy called the move the dumbest possible way to do this. reggie, i want to jump in quickly there the live desk. a look at stocks. they are down. we've seen the market react strongly as the tariff war continues to escalate. down right now, about 108 points. that's about half a percentage point. i've seen it down 260 points at its lowest this morning. it has been down, it's been the case throughout the morning. reggie, you mentioned this. china saying they'll fight back, quote, at all costs against u.s. tariffs. and that is a major concern for investors on wall street. it's something to watch for the

rest of the day. fly wheel plans to take half of the city's fleet off of its platform on sunday. the examiner reports that taxi drivers were sent a notice that said fly wheel will be suspending all orders to drivers who do not drive for a partner of fly wheel. those include fly wheel sacks i, sf super cab. e ecotaxi and others. fly wheel is the uber-like app used to hail cabs. yellow cab, national veterans cabs would no longer be able to seek passengers on the fly wheel app. in a few years, some may be able to take a vacation 200 miles above the earth. the founder of orion span announced the luxury space hotel will launch in late 2021. guests will be able to stay at the aurora station in early 2022. a 12-day stay at the orbiting hotel will start at $9.5 million. orion span ceo says guests will
