soon at all. the threat of a u. s. missile strike came after a suspected chemical weapons attack by syrian forces over the weekend. >> also this morning, another report of a secret deal involving president trump during the 2016 election. according to the story dropped by the new yorker overnight the company that owns the national inquirer paid $30,000 to a former doorman at a new york city building owned by president trump. the report says the doorman went to the enquirer to offer a salacious story about then president trump and no story ever appeared and the doorman signed a contract preventing him from going public. no comment from the white house. >> this morning we're hearing of the family of a instagram model that was among the six people that died in a plane crash in arizona. the 23-year-old was on the plane that crashed minutes after taking off from scottsdale

monday. it was headed to las vegas. she posted video of the flight on instagram as the group was taking off. and captured the plane's tail number. the video is a sign of devine intervention. >> god was involved in all of that video because i mean, if she hadn't filmed the tail of that plane then it would have took awhile to find out. she was happy. she was always so happy. >> everyone on board died. several investigators are trying to determine if the plane was overloaded. >> a driver went off an embankment in the south b near the open space preserve. most california parents are concerned about school shooting after the mass shootings in florida.

the public policy found 82% of82 public school parents are very or some what concerned about the threat of a mass shooting at their local school. 68% of public school parents oppose allowing more teachers and school officials to carry guns at school. >> a woman is dead after an accident on a spring break trip to mexico. abc 7 news reporter kate larson said heart broken parents are working to make sure this never happens to another family. >> i would have never thought my daughter would be involved in something like this. >> surrounded by flowers, family photos, and her daughter's ashes at their home in castro valley, she recounts how her daughter amanda, a week shy of her 21st birthday was killed on a spring break trip to mexico. >> we were informed she was in an auto accident in mexico. >> amanda and her best friend

a judge could order former raider and nineer star aldon smith into a substance abuse facility tomorrow. he had a blood alcohol level high enough to kill him when he was taken into custody last friday. his blood alcohol content w was .4. that's five times the legal limit to drive. smith was arrested when he reported to receive an ankle monitor in his domestic violence case. experts say smith could have gone into a coma and died of respiratory failure. >> police need your help catching an armed robbery suspect. they say this man held up the pacific service credit union yesterday. no word on what he got away with. authorities say he may have been connected to others in the bay area. if you recognize him call police. live doppler 7, you can see a few showers in the north bay right along the coast here. also close to highway 101 and

ago this month. long is now suing the airline and the city of chicago. he wasn't properly trained to respond to the situation.situat. he sued the airline shortly after the incident. the city of vallejo is working to restore a neglected piece of history. they're buried at the mare island naval cemetery. when they closed the base in 1996 and gave it to the city it did not leave money to maintain the cemetery. volunteers have been doing their best but they need some federal help. this week city council approved a letter that will be sent to the feds asking to return the property to the navy or the va. >> and if we don't move this forward, to me it's a slap in the face to not only our veterans and those that have served but to the entire city of vallejo. >> this may be the only way to raise the millions of dollars needed to preserve the cemetery.

maps. they are saying they should have all lanes back open by 5:30 but that hasn't happened yet. >> thank you. developing news in the westbound an apparent freeway shooting early this morning. >> amy, hard to believe this may have happened again. >> i can't believe it. i know. another one the chp is now dealing with. take a look at the video. it shows you what happened. you could see there is a bullet hole in the passenger door of the driver's side of this car. this happened overnight in concord on highway 4 at the port chicago off ramp. we didn't see evidence that anyone was hurt. no ambulances on the scene but we did see police searching the area for evidence. they did not say whether they made an arrest or what the motive could have been behind this attack but freeway shootings are just plaguing the eastbay. there's been about 100 of them in the east bay in the past

a thank you from president trump of all people. the two have been bitter rivals politically taking turns slamming each other but the president put out a tweet about 3:00 this morning saying california governor jerry brown is doing the right thing and sending the national guard to the border. thank you jerry, good move for the safety of our country. in a letter to the white house yesterday brown wrote he'll accept federal funding to add 400 guard members to help existing operations targeting gangs, human traffickers and drug smugglers but won't help with immigration enforcement. writing, this will not be a mission to build a new wall. or detain people escaping violence and seeking a better life. the troops will be doing the job. >> facebook is dropping it's opposition to california's proposed privacy law. it happened shortly after ceo mark zuckerberg got done being

as we go through the next several hours it's mainly in the north bay. we'll keep the chance of shower through the morning and afternoon hours but elsewhere it's the higher elevations. but overall a partly cloudy sky today and a live look outside. visibility is good here. fog in the north bay. so a few showers breezy this afternoon. northwest winds up to 30 miles per hour along the coast but sunny and warmer tomorrow into saturday. it's not going to last though. by late sunday more shower activity and this pretty much tells the picture in napa with low 60s today and then look how much milder tomorrow into saturday. then a storm system comes in increasing the clouds and by monday, look at that, the coolest day, we could see some thunderstorms and low snow levels but still a little far out there to pinpoint so stay with us. we'll be look at upper 50s to low 60s today with breezy northwest winds and with the partly cloudy sky today that will allow for a cold night tonight with mid 30s in the north bay.

so certainly it's going to be better than it was yesterday but if you want rain we have more of that in the forecast. if you want sun, the next couple of days look good for that. >> okay. so good for everybody. unfortunately i do have a sig alert in the traffic department here too. this is atwal nut creek. our traffic camera north of there, you'll notice not much traffic heading northbound. that's because all lanes are closed on the northbound side. we have launched sky 7. so hopefully we'll have a better look at what's going on. we don't have many details from chs. police activity, all of this heavy traffic on the southbound side is just onlooker delay. as far as we know all lanes are open on that southbound side. trying to get to the bottom of this but clearly we have back up on both sides of the roadway due to this issue. we also have multiple crashes along westbound 80 past travis boulevard. sounds like four total. just a chain reaction situation. we have injuries. they're waiting for a couple of toe trucks.

highway one and this is your hour by hour planner where you see that most of the day is dry but then by 11:00 the north bay still looking at some showers and then by the afternoon it's the higher elevations and we're all partly cloudy with those breezy north westerly winds. 49 in oakland now and 43 in freemont, 36 in santa rosa. so anywhere from 20 to 6 degrees colder behind the system and that will be the trend today and then with the breezy winds on the coast, quite gusty out there. so a few showers. breezy today and cool but by tomorrow we're warmer into the 70s. upper 70s on saturday. that will be the warmest day out of the next 7 and rain will be returning next sunday into monday. monday looks to be another blustery day. winds right now 15 to 25, 26 miles per hour. mount tam and the winds will work down to the surface and we'll have the 20 to 30 miles

southbound side is another story as sky 7 is panning back. a lot of heavy traffic southbound and no lanes blocked tside. it was a lot of onlooker delay due to the flashing lights. if you're making your way down from the pleasant hill area extra heavy traffic volumes there on the southbound side of 680. let's check in with lisa in for mike today. >> good morning to you. residual showers, it's dry for most of you. we have some fog but the pavement is wet and we still could see a lingering scattered shower. so be careful out there. we're looking at cool numbers in the north bay. 30s, upper 40s elsewhere. 5 to 6 degrees colder and that will translate into a cool afternoon with breezy winds on the peninsula just in the upper 50s today. notice 2 to 4:00, about 57 degrees and we will be looking at good conditions in the afternoon with partly cloudy skies.
