280 merge, skill a multicar crash in the two left lanes. if you want to stick to 280, 101 is delays 15 to 20 minutes due to that crash. we are tracking breaking news in san francisco where police are looking for a hit-and-run driver right now who crashed their car into a house. it happened at 37th avenue near sloat boulevard. police say a passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. the driver did take off. the homeowner, a grandmother in her 90s, w a live picture from the scene. the car is still there. at 6:30, we'll go live to abc ac reporter amy hollyfield. chances you've noticed the electric scooters zipping around or parked on the sidewalk. >> abc 7 reporter elissa harrington is joining us from the newsroom with more. >> good morning.

san francisco supervisor aaron peskin introduced the legislation. he says the city has received hundreds of nuisance calls in a little more than two weeks since those rental scooters first showed up in san francisco. in fact on friday the department of public works confiscated 66 scooters they say were blocking traffic around the city. the proposed legislation would require these e scooter companies to get permits from the municipal transportation agency. the mta could then further regulate the vehicles. riders use an app to rent an e scooter and can park it anywhere when they're done. many riders are seen breaking laws, righting on the sidewalk without helmets and faster than the 15-mile-per-hour speed limit. a spokesperson for bird, one of the scooter companies, says they will work with the city to try to find a solution. part of a statement reads, we will continue to build upon bird's user education so that our growing user base becomes accustomed to considering fell san franciscans and park safely

they tried to push the victim into a vehicle on castro street. two of the victim's friends showed up and one suspect pulled out a gun. the two suspects drove off firing shots as they left. no one was injured. yesterday morning police tracked down and arrested 29-year-old guillermo perez and 19-year-old walter ramirez. this weekend hundreds of people marched in oakland to say no to war s >> the people united will never be defeated. >> protesters took to the streets calling for peace across the globe, including america's involvement with syria, palestine, afghanistan and what they say is violence against people of color on our own soil. >> with this administration the very meek and mild reforms that were in place because of obama are being rolled out. you hear i.c.e. agents and police officers feel like they've been unshackalled. the they've been unshackled

good morning everyone. waking up to this. look at the waves of rain moving into the bay area. it's a one on our storm impact scale. you're seeing most of the activity from the coast, highway 1, novato, sears point over the san pablo bay slipping into vallejo. into san leandro, 880. this will continue as we get a little sunshine. we still have a winter weather advisory through the evening hours. it's going to feel like winter. temperatures are cooler than average, only in the 50s. the winds will kick up as well. >> turned the heat on this morning when i was getting ready at the house. quite a few issues on the roads. the countercommute side of 80,

eastbound 80 in the el cerrito area. this is reportedly caused by debris in the roadway. two vehicles made it in the right shoulder. the other two are sitting in the left two lanes. emergency crews are on the scene there. also seeing delays, westbound 80, 24 minutes. 22 across the bay bridge. that disabled vehicle right around 7th street has cleared. happening now, if you take highway 101 through the marin sonoma narrows, you'll find yourself on a new road. caltrans finished the highway shift in time for the morning commute. the new alignment is from san antonio road and castania road. caltran says more work needs to be done but there's not a timeline on that yet. a plan to fix san francisco's sinking millennium tower could cost a lot more than it even cost to build the building. kerry underwood performs for the first time since a terrible

philadelphia starbucks sparking a nationwide controversy. the company's ceo is now responding and protesters are now taking action. this is new video just into our abc 7 newsroom. about two dozen protesteders are demonstrating inside that store right now chanting starbucks coffee is anti black. it started last thursday. two men were sitting at a table without making a purchase. when they were asked to leave, they refused. that's when an employee called 911 reporting the incident as trespassing. starbucks on "good morning america" and called what happened reprehensible. >> clearly there's an opportunity to provide clarity. in addition to that there's training, more training we'll do with our store managers, not only about the guidelines but around unconscious bias. what happened to those two gentlemen was wrong. >> johnson wants to meet with the men to apologize in person. the incident in philadelphia hits close to home for one

well-known east bay community. >> w. kamal bell says it's unfortunate it took white people to legitimize the injustice. >> there's a big part of this that's hard to say. it's about the fact that white people with there are to vouch for those two black men. if this had been all black people, maybe aall get arrested. maybe we don't hear about this story. maybe the cops have to escalate because they're afraid there's so many black people there. >> kamal says he was once kicked out of berkeley's elmwood cafe after speaking to his wife at an outside table. he hopes more people get involved in the fight against racism. the academy of country music awards took place last night in las vegas six months after a gunman killed 58 people during a concert there. >> singer jason aldean was on stage during the festival when those shots rang out in october. he did open up last night after winning entertainer of the year. >> it's been a rough year.

we have a not-so-great day today. slippery out there. be prepared with the umbrella and live doppler 7. we want to show you our storm impact scale. this is a one. most of you seeing up to .2 throughout the day. with sunshine and cold air in place, we could see a thunderstorm and snow levels will lower down to around mt. hamilton. they're doing that already. look at the radar in motion right now. there's more offshore. this is pushing into the north bay bringing downpours around highway 101 out towards 37, sears point and sonoma. be careful in vallejo, i-80, wet. you'll need the wipers. further south things are pretty quiet. a few showers between oakland ansan leandro. all of this will continue to work through the bay area, and we have snow in the sierra nevada. a couple inches below 7,000 feet before everything winds down later on this afternoon and tonight. you can see the west slope and

the greater lake tahoe area, certainly tricky. 48 in oakland, 48 in san jose. at the golden gate bridge you can see the breaks in the clouds. the pavement doesn't look wet yet. the radar was further north and that rain will be shifting across the bay throughout your morning ride. likely anywhere from the peninsula to the city. it's 40 in santa rosa, 45 in fairfield. we have fog in livermore at 42. also foggy in santa rosa. we'll be looking at the winds coming down with those thunderstorms for some breezy and gusty times. this is the order of the day today. and once that sun sets after 7:00, things will be quieter and we'll recover. as we time out the rain for you in the next hour or so, you'll notice it pops out along the coast into the east bay, even the central valley. so it could come down anywhere with the sun. so don't be fooled. it's going to be a cool blustery day today.

rainfall amounts looking from .3 to maybe .25 inch. mid 50s today. breezy, cool. the seven day outlook showing a dry day tomorrow and perhaps another chance of rain come thursday. alexis? >> okay. taking a look at the roads, we've got quite a few issues. wants to start you with the bay bridge commute. metering lights are on. once you get past the metering lights, you still have another 25 minutes into san francisco. that was all due to an earlier disabled vehicle right around 7th near the 101 emergency. they were able to get that off to mission. traffic heavy all the way back beyond treasure island. that's going to take a while to recover. south of there, still cleaning the crash on northbound 101 before the 280 merge. it sounds like one of the two vehicles has cleared. we still have the left lane blocked. boy, heavy rain right there pushing through that area, too. that yellow and orange you're seeing on live doppler seven.

arrive really early or take mass transit. we are following breaking news this morning in san francisco. >> a car crashed into two homes on sloat boulevard and 37th avenue. amy hollyfield is live on the scene with the latest. >> reporter: what a scene, matt. take a look. the car is still here and the building inspector says it's okay to leave it there for now and it is safe for the woman who lives here to stay here. he says they shouldn't pull the car out of this home just yet. it crashed at 2:15 this morning here at the corner of 37th and sloat in san francisco. a woman in her 90s and her caregiver at the time are okay. they're just shocked. police say the driver ran away from the scene but had a passenger who stuck around. she was taken to the hospital. police say it didn't look like she had life-threatening injuries. the homeowner's grandson got a call from his dad about the

crash, so he drove up from the peninsula to see if she was okay. >> how did you feel when you first pulled up and saw it? >> a little nervous, a little surprised, to be honest with you. >> reporter: he says his grandmother has lived in this home for more than 50 years. the building inspector advised them to do some work on the house and stabilize it before removing the car. so it's going to stay here throughout the morning. they don't know why the driver ca crashed. they need to find the driver to figure that out. live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> you saw right here on abc 7 former fbi director james comey broke his silence in his first one-on-one interview since president trump fired him. >> comey called the president morally unfit and warning the russians may have compromising information on him. abc news reporter arlette saenz is live in washington this morning. arlette? >> jessica and matt, good morning.

president trump spent the past few days bashing james comey on twitter, calling him even thing from a slime ball to a liar. in his first interview since he was fired, comey is telling his side of the story and holding nothing back. it's an intensifying showdown between president trump and the man he fired, former fbi director james comey. >> i don't think he's medically unfit to be president. i think he's morally unfit to be president. >> reporter: comey broke his silence. >> do you think the rupgss have something on donald trump? >> i think it's possible. i don't know. these are more words i never thought i'd utter about the president of the united states, but it's possible. >> reporter: comey detailed some of the most controversial moments of his career, including an alleged conversation with the president about former national security adviser michael flynn. >> that's when he said that he opens i could let it go. >> when he said that you thought? >> he's asking me to drop the criminal investigation of his

"good morning america" will have much more from the exclusive interview. join george stephanopoulos at 7:00 a.m. after abc 7 mornings. sheriff's deputies say an uncooperative gunshot victim in row day i don't was eventually flown to the hospital. authorities were called around 1:00 this morning and found a man shot in the abdomen. officials say he was uncooperative with deputies and also uncooperative with medical personnel. as a result deputies have not said a lot about what happened there. we will let you know as soon as we get an update. napa police are investigating the death of a woman after her body was found at a school. >> the department shared these photos on their facebook page. officers say her body was found at snow elementary school yesterday. the school was not open. police say there is no threat to public safety. the school will likely open today. anyone with information is asked

to contact napa police. we are tracking developing news this morning. former first lady barbara bush is in failing health and will not seek any more medical treatment. a bush family spokesperson says the decision not to seek treatment follows conversations that bush had with her family and a recent series of trips to the hospital. this is video of bush during a visit to san francisco's chinatown back in the year 1992. the 92-year-old former first lady will now focus on comfort care and is also said to be surrounded by her family this morning. >> she's the type of person that would light up the room with her personality, treated everybody the same, whether it was the person serving the table or the most important person in the room. it didn't matter. she's a force for good in our community and for so many years has been a shining example for all of us to try to emulate. >> former president george h.w. and barbara bush have been married for 73 years. barbara bush also the mother of

former president george w. bush. attornys for president trump will be in a manhattan federal courtroom to try to stop the fbi from reviewing several items seized last week. michael cohen claims he should be able to review the seized materials as part of attorney-client privilege before prosecutors can study it. adult film actress stormy daniels will be at today's hearing. she's in a legal battle with cohen over a $130,000 agreement for her to keep quiet about a sexual encounter she claims she had with president trump. good morning to you. what a way to wake up to a monday. it's wet, going to get wetter throughout the day. here is live doppler 7. you can see the trajectory from the southeast to the north bay. it's slick from penngrove to novato, lucas valley towards san rafael and towards sears point, highway 37, american canyon and we have chains if you're headed to the sierra nevada, 80 and 350.

to the north, the rain-snow mix, colder air in place. in oakland we have a few showers around 80 just crossing the bridge -- the bay here but there will be more. in the south bay, widely scattered around gilroy. it's a one on our storm impact scale today. light rain out there. could see moderate showers if we have a thunderstorm and we may with some sunshine from the afternoon that destabilizes the atmosphere, and with those downpours, the winds gusty, 20 to 30 miles an hour. it could be slick in the north bay, the mass transit not bad except for perhaps some of the slippery streets as you're headed toward the transit. 50 in oakland today. right now it's 48 in san jose, 41 in santa rosa. not too bad with the milder air to start. but look where the temperatures

are going in the south bay. not very far. in the mid 50s today. you have the low 70s. a beautiful afternoon in the south bay. today, 52 in lakeport with 55 in fremont and palo alto. a one-day event with the cold, chilly, windy, breezy weather. we dry out. a nice bright easy commute tomorrow. >> things are going downhill here lisa, not looking good in the east bay. in fact, we've got a major traffic alert now. a sig alert has been issued for this crash in el cerrito. we have sky 7 on the way to the scene. they give us much better perspective of what we're dealing with. we know we had four vehicles involved in this crash. initially the calls to chp with a lot of debris in the roadway that caused the crash. it was sort of a chain reaction situation. eastbound 80 past carlson, no one is getting by. all lanes are closed for this. it sounds like they have tow trucks on the scene trying to clean it up.

they have no estimate on when traffic might be able to get by. for now you're being forced off onto carlson boulevard on the off-ramp. not a huge backup yet. just under a mile. we're starting to get onlooker delay filling in as well. westbound 580 tracy to dublin, just under an hour at 55 minutes. westbound 4, antioch to concord in the yellow at 23. southbound 101 san rafael to san francisco, 16 minutes. marin transit will add to its fleet of cleaner burning vehicles with the addition of two all-electric buses. buses like these already use a cleaner burning diesel. the other 18 will be switched to that fuel this summer. marin transit says while the manufacturer of the buses is in kmi china, the vehicles will be built in california. the buses are part of a $1.6 million pilot project to get cleaner burning vehicles on the road. happening today, terminal 1

at sfo will be renamed in honor of harvey milk. he was the city's first openly gay politician when elected to the board of supervisors in 1977. milk and mayor george mascone were assassinated at city hall in 1978. milk is being honored for fighting discrimination that targeted the lgbt community. a big day for those scooters that keep popping up on bay area sidewalks and roads. the action officials will take to regulate the new representals that are causing a lot of controversy. the making of a modern princess. the author of a new book revealing n

back to the traffic alert in el cerritos. let's take a look at the situation here. this is eastbound 80, so the countercommute side. boy, those vehicles really looking crunched up. up until a few moments ago we had all lanes closed. now it looks like they have two lanes back open, but we definitely need at least one  more tow truck. that car was really crunched up. a lot of front end damage. you can see heavy delays there, at least 20 to 25 minutes on eastbound 80. i know that's a rude awakening, most folks are used to that being an easy drive this time of day. it does look like we're improving. we have two lanes open instead of all four lanes closed. definitely not all clear yet. a quick check on what this looks like on our traffic maps as well. this is still a sig alert. you can see onlooker delay, just 14 miles an hour approaching that on the westbound side. if you want to stick to san pablo for an alternate, that is
