a dash cam captures a plane a dash cam captures a plane crash just feet away from a fast food drive through. you see it there, look again. the single engine plane soared in front of a sonic in colorado springs. it missed a bunch of homes before flipping over a guardrail and small bridge. the people aboard are said to be okay. the faa is looking into the crash but also it missed many vehicles there on that roadway as well. the mayor of cambridge, massachusetts is calling a new video showing the arrest of a black harvard student disturbing. the student is naked on a traffic island surrounded by police. >> after the student is taken to the ground there, an officer is seen punching the man. police say the man resisted arrest and was struck in order to be brought under control.

an internal police investigation is now under way into this latest incident. and the ceo of starbucks is on a damage control after that arrest of two black men in a philadelphia store. >> we're also hearing more about the staff at that starbucks. linsey davis is in philadelphia with more. >> reporter: protests shut down this starbucks in philadelphia. the outrage comes after this now-viral video of two black men escorted out of the starbucks in handcuffs. >> what did they do? >> they didn't do anything. i saw the entire thing. >> reporter: police say the men were sitting at a table but had not made a purchase. when asked to leave they refused. that's when the manager called 911, reporting the incident as trespassing. this man says they are real estate agents just waiting to meet with him. >> i sat in there the other day for an hour, no one asked me to order anything or leave. >> reporter: the police

good morning, i'm diane macedo. >> i'm kendis gibson. here are some of the top headlines we're following this morning. the fox news host sean hannity pushing back after being revealed as michael cohen's secret client. the president's long-term attorney launched a legal battle over documents seized by the fbi. president trump welcomes japanese prime minister shinzo abe to his florida resort today. they'll discuss the upcoming meeting with kim jong-un and trading between the u.s. and japan is also on the agenda. today is tax day. a number of restaurants offer tax day specials for 10.40.

and the first american women to win the boston marathon in 33 year. those of some of the top stories on tuesday, april 17th. this is "world news now." we're going to start the hour off with the investigation focussed on the president's personal attorney and it took a dramatic turn in court. fox news host sean hannity revealed as his mystery client. >> lawyers are fighting to review documents seized in the fbi raid last week. and the judge forced them to identify a mystery third client in open court. it turned out to be sean hannity. but hannity insists cohen is not his lawyer. >> reporter: a crush of cameras as stormy daniels arrived in federal court. the porn star and those clamoring to get a glimpse of her tripping over barricades, security rushing her inside.

less fanfare for michael cohen. the president's long-time personal lawyer, who paid for daniels' silence, cohen fighting for control of items swept up in those raids one week ago. a new court filing from cohen's attorney revealing he worked for three clients over the last year, donald trump, elliott brady and a third client that cohen said wanted to remain anonymous. cohen arranged a $130,000 payment to daniels days before the election and a reported $1.6 million to a model broidy allegedly had an affair with. hannity down-played his relationship. >> michael cohen never represented me in any legal matter. i never retained his services. i never received an invoice. i never paid michael cohen for legal fees.

i did have brief conversations with michael cohen where i was looking for input and perspective. >> reporter: federal prosecutors say cohen has been under investigation for months. the raids in part to look for information about secret cash deals made outside the campaign to protect donald trump, possible campaign finance violations. cohen's attorney calling the raids unprecedented, argued against having a separate group of prosecutors deciding what is acceptable. cohen not even looking daniels' way. afterwards, stormy daniels' attorney inviting her to come to the mic. >> for years michael cohen has

acted like he's above the law. he considered himself, onpenly referred to himself as trump's fixer. he's played by a different set of rules or no rules at all. he has never thought that the little man or women like me matter. that ends now. >> reporter: michael cohen has been with the president for more than a decade. he is on the record saying, quote, i will do anything to protect mr. trump. kyra phillips, abc news, new york. now to a new warning about a cyber threat from russia. u.s. and britain says russia is behind a global effort to infiltrate our home and business internet routers. that would allow hackers to not only access personal information but intellectual property. they might be able to launch other cyberattacks from american computers. syria claims it came under another missile attack hours ago. the target was reportedly the air base that the u.s. attacked last year.

syria says it shot down the missiles which may have been fired by israeli forces. israel says it doesn't comment on such reports. you can soon pay more for things you buy online. the issue of internet sales tax is being argued before the supreme court. brad mielke has more. >> when i buy something online, i literally don't know if i'm about to pay sales tax on that item or not. there's a reason for that. it depends whether the seller has a physical location in your state. later this morning, the supreme court will hear arguments over whether that rule should be changed. the case is being brought by south dakota and other states who say times have changed and they're losing millions in tax dollars. big online sellers are saying hey, we shouldn't have to deal with different sales tax laws across the country. but kate shaw told me this. >> i think goes to something really interesting at the heart of the case. i'm not sure people are paying

that much attention to whether and when they're paying sales tax online. if that's the case, i think it's a real question about whether people are going to change their buying behavior. >> you remember that criticism that senators seemed a little clueless when they talked about facebook? the average supreme court justice is much older. we'll have much more on "start here." check it out on apple podcast or wherever you listen. we turn now to the latest in teacher protests. this time it's educators in colorado. rallying for better pay, more school funding. they swarmed the state capital in denver as they talked about cuts to retirement benefits. colorado's economy is one of the best in the country, but teacher salaries rank among the worst. bill cosby's accuser has completed more than seven hours of testimony. andrea constand says she settled a civil suit for more than $3 million because she wanted to move past the case.

investigators and a drug expert are expected on the stand today. and five men are going to prison for the hazing death of a fraternity pledge at florida state university. they will spend time behind bars. another who cooperated with investigators will only serve 30 days. andrew coffey died of alcohol poisoning in november. four others will go on trial in june. a hiker had to be rescued after a freak accident. the 29-year-old woman got stuck under a rock when she climbed can between boulders to get glasses she dropped. took about an hour to free her. the rocks weighed as much as five tons, even had to use jaws of life to pry them apart. luckily, the woman was not injured. and former first lady barbara bush is said to be in great spirits today, days after her family announced her health is failing. the 92-year-old is resting at home in houston surrounded by family members. mrs. bush has suffered from

like reversing federal law against marijuana, we can't even get a vote. >> reporter: gardner says he was holding sessions to a pledge he gave him privately during his confirmation proceedings. >> i was led to believe there wouldn't be a reversal of the cole memorandum which guides states' implementation of their policies. >> reporter: it is more in line with the policy trump advocated on the campaign trail. >> i think in terms of marijuana and legalization, i think that should be a state issue. >> reporter: gardner and his colleagues from other states that have legalized marijuana are working on a bill that makes clear states mandate these laws and they say president trump is on board. >> and one of the big issues that has come up is the use of marijuana to help veterans with ptsd. that seems to be one of the big points here. >> that means the celebrations in a few more days will be quite ripe for 20 day.

and a third client who wished to be anonymous. but the court ordered that person to be revealed. sean hannity. hannity disputes the claim. >> i never received an invoice, i never paid michael cohen for legal fees. i did have occasional brief conversations with michael cohen. he's a great attorney about legal questions i had or i was looking for input and perspective. >> reporter: court documents show cohen has been under investigation for months. the fbi raids last month in part to look for information about possible campaign finance violations to protect trump. in addition to the $130,000 cohen paid adult film star stormy daniels just before the election to stay quiet about her alleged affair with trump in 2006. the white house has denied the allegation of an affair. daniels was also in court as a spectator, making a brief statement afterwards.

mccain has been undergoing physical therapy as he recovers from the side effects of his brain cancer treatment. he had planned to return to washington in january but has remained at home instead. binghamton university says a suspect is in custody after the school's second student murder in five weeks. a student was stabbed in the residence hall. sozo was a stand-out soccer player. a native of brazil. his former soccer coach says those who knew him loved him. >> he's the last person i would think of to be confrontational or get into a fight. it's unimaginable what happened and we're heartbroken. >> michael roque is in custody. police say sozo was targeted. last month, haley anderson was murdered at an off-campus residence.

>> props to them for still getting to work despite that. a 33 year drought at the boston marathon ended in a rainstorm. >> desi linden is taking a well-deserved rest. the two-time olympian became the first american woman to win the boston marathon since 1985. the california native fought through bone-chilling rain to finish in over four hours. it's her first win after coming in second seven years ago. >> this is desiree linden running in boston's always special, breaking the tape is a culmination of years and years of hard work. and it feels magnificent. >> right behind her was american sara seles, they were among seven u.s. runners in the top ten. so if it's nasty and horrible out, we win.
