elliott broidy. he was the target of an fbi raid that seized documents including some related to his $130,000 payment to stormy daniels days before the 2016 election. cohen's attorney called the raids unprecedented arguing against having a separate team of prosecutors go through materials to decide what's privileged and what can be examined by investigators. but a judge rejected that request. daniels attended monday a hearing as a spectator. my attorney and i are committed to making sure that everyone finds out the truth and the facts of what happened. >> reporter: prosecutors will now put those seized documents in a searchable database but they won't review any of the material. that database will be shared with attorneys for the president and mr. cohen and the parties will return to court in a few weeks. diane and kendis. >> all right, that's arlette saenz for us live from d.c., thanks. president trump is reportedly blocking a new set of sanctions against russia. those economic punishments were

supposed to be imposed monday. but then the president apparently intervened. mixed messages from the trump administration about how to punish russia for supporting syria's use of chemical weapons. >> you will see that russian sanctions will be coming down. secretary mnuchin will announce those monday. >> reporter: just one day after nikki haley's announcement sarah sanders would only say the white house is considering additional sanctions. "the washington post" reports president trump himself has decided to hold off because the president was not yet comfortable with imposing sanctions on russia. the decision comes as chemical weapons investigators say they're being denied access to the attack site by syrian authorities. the attack outside damascus was used to justify a u.s.-led air strike which russia calls a violation of international law. for the first time this morning we're hearing from survivors of that attack. he says there was a strong chlorine smell and yellow dust

covered the entire area and this morning an urgent new warning about russian hackers. the fbi and homeland security say state sponsored russian hackers are targeting millions of american companies, small businesses, even homes. they're accused of secretly launching a campaign to use internet routers to commit espionage, steal business and design secrets and potentially launch future attack. >> these devices make ideal targets. this is a global threat. the simple way to think about it is once you own the router, you own the traffic that's traversing the router. >> so what should you do to make sure your router is not hacked? well, experts say do not use the default password and businesses should avoid using the same password for multiple routers. >> and we're learning more about the controversial spending habits by the head of the epa scott pruitt. the government accountability office says the epa broke the law when it spent $43,000 on a secure telephone booth for pruitt. $5,000 is the limit for

redecorating expenses though the epa argues pruitt needs the booth for privacy. an internal watchdog found his chief of staff approved controversial raises for two of pruitt's longtime aides. one of those raises was nearly $57,000. that's until that decision was reversed. and senator john mccain is said to be in stable condition this morning. he's at a hospital in arizona after undergoing surgery for an intestinal infection. the 81-year-old has also been in physical therapy after his treatment for brain cancer. and former first lady barbara bush is said to be in good spirits after the bush family announced she was in failing health and no longer seeking medical care. her granddaughter jenna calls her a fighter and his husband remains by her side at their home in houston. after a wake of teacher strike, teachers in arizona are planning to vote as early as today on whether to walk off the job. they say the governor's plan for

a 20% pay increase over the next two years is not enough. and in colorado, hundreds of teachers rallied at the state capitol demanding better pay and school funding. they protested as lawmakers were about to debate cuts to retirement benefits. well, time now for a look at your weather for this tuesday morning. good morning, plus terry conditions for the northeast, a mixture of rain, snow, showers throughout the northeast. but throughout the midwest along i life 90 particularly where i-29 and 35 cross we're watching out for 6 to 12 inches of snow. snow also expected in the northwest with unsettled weather and chilly conditions but in the southwest high fire danger with wind gusts up to 40 to 60-mile-per-hour winds and high temperatures and that dry pattern spreads all the way from texas right into oklahoma with strong winds making the fire danger even worse. i'm accuweather meteorologist paul williams. coming up the major cell

we're back with amazing dash cam video. that circle you see at the top of the screen is a small plane making a crash landing on the road near a fast food restaurant in colorado springs. the plane eventually crashed near the side of a bridge clipping a guardrail on the way. three people were on board that plane. one was injured but is now recovering. those two black men arrested at a philadelphia starbucks have agreed to meet with the company's ceo. a store manager called police

last week because the men were sitting in the store without ordering anything. they were actually waiting for a meeting there. now, starbucks' ceo kevin johnson calls the case reprehensible. the company says it hopes the meeting can happen this week. the manager would called police is no longer with that company. authorities say a illegal cell phones are partly to blame for a disturbance that left seven inmates dead. federal law does not allow prisons to block signals from contraband phones which officials say allowed the inmates to stay involved in crime outside prison walls. three other inmates have been killed at that facility in the last year. and a 20-year-old student at bick hampton university in upstate new york is under arrest charged with the murder of a fellow student. police say michael roque targeted his victim but the motive still unclear. freshman joelle so haso hav standout soccer player. t-mobile agreed to pay a $40

♪ checking out the beginning of "night court"ry ran for nine seasons during the '80s and '90s and sad news this morning. harry anderson who played judge harry stone on the show has died. he earned three emmy nominations during his time on the bench and his co-star john larroquette called himself heartsick over the news. anderson was found dead at his home in north carolina. police say no foul play suspected. he was just 65 years old. >> such a great show and dying at such a young age. hundreds stranded in mexico are slowly making their way home after their flights were canceled because of a blizzard in minnesota. they were told to find their own way back to the u.s. and they were left scrambling to book flights on other airlines. sun country had seasonal service

and get power lines repaired. beyond that closure is the town of moraga. this is the main road people in mora, a use to get to the freeway, the b.a.r.t. station, basically to get off to work. it's going to be a rough morning if they don't get this reopened. they shut it down. it was early when the tree fell and took down power line. this happened on saint mary's and moraing ga. it clogged the arteries as people were coming home from work, trying to get to baseball games. it really clogged the community. crews told me this morning, they have moved the tree. they have chopped it up and gotten it out of here but they are working to get the power lines repaired and get the power on for hundreds of customers who don't have power and get the

road opened up. we will stay on it to let you know how it's looking. we're looking around 6:00 this morning that has changed. stay with us. amy hollyfield. >> a live update. >> from abc this morning. >> new from live desk, a bipartisan majority of americans support tougher sanctions on russia. that's according to a brand-new abc "washington post" poll released overnight. 68% of people surveyed said they support tougher measures against russia in response to its alleged international behavior. in the survey, 52% of people surveyed said they would be in favor of president trump holding a summit at the white house with russian president vladimir putin to help improve u.s.-russia relations. some overlap there. some people supporting both measures. thank you.
