amy hollyfield live on embarcadero. amy. >> good morning, natasha. you may see people snapping pictures of these scooters today, not because they want to put it on instagram but because the country that provides scooters, one of them, bird, wants to see a picture that shows users properly parked the scooters. that's the new safety program the company put in place starting today as the city closing in on regulating electric scooters which started showing up in the city about a month ago. people complained they clog and block the sidewalks. so the city will consider legislation today that will regulate the scooters. the supervisor who proposed it said he got a heads up that these scooters were going to be an issue and they were coming before they got here. >> the reason i introduced this legislation is because my counterparts in southern california told me they were

a judge says she may appoint neutral order for confidentiality of items seized by fbi from michael cohen, president trump's personal lawyer. in court yesterday cohen was forced to disclose his client had done legal work for fox news host sean hannity. hannity, one of the president's most aggressive supporters strongly criticized the raid last week about disclosing his relationship with him. hannity insists it's much ado about nothing. >> let me set the record straight. here is the truth. michael cohen never represented me in any legal matter. i never retained his services. i never received an invoice. i never paid michael cohen for legal fees. >> hannity admitted he asked legal questions primarily about prels. new this morning petaluma police arrested two people accused of manslaughter and child endangerment. they are in custody after miss responded to a medical call

thanks so much, jessica. this morning sonoma county investigators looking for two men they say pete and sexually assault add woman after she got into a car in san francisco she thought was a ride sharing car. the attackers picked her up outside of bruno's bar and left her hurt in sonoma. the victim was found early sunday morning at safe way. the ride sharing customers say this incident is a reminder to take precautions. i have them give me my name. if they don't know my name, obviously they aren't pick meeting up. >> i always look at the last few numbers or letters of the license plate and make sure i'm getting in the right car. >> authorities have very few clues to go on. they are asking for the public's help to find the two suspects. search crews in mendocino county have recovered all the remains of a family swept away in the eel river. the family was heading home to southern california after a trip to oregon. they were supposed to make a stop in san jose about a week and a half ago but their car

went into a flooded river. search crews had located the bodies of the parents and their daughter. the body of the son was found yesterday. chp is still investigating the cause of the crash. 6:36 now. taxing gun owners to pay for security at california schools. that's the idea sacramento lawmakers are now debating. the proposal includes a tax on gun and ammunition purchases. it would also require every middle and junior high school to have at least one counselor. counselors would deal with issues like bullying and identify kids who need help. >> talk to educators. they see a lot of kids that are troubled -- potential of having problems down the road. if we can intervene earlier with them and help them, it goes a long ways. >> gun rights advocates say the bill unfairly targets law abiding gun owners. >> happening today sonoma county will decide whether to extend state of emergency following october wildfires. the county is recovering from the deadly firestorm. today the board of supervisors will vote on extending the local

abc 7 live desk. >> we want to get back to that breaking news that we're tracking in san jose. firefighter responding to a fire at a residential building in san jose. there's at least a dozen fire trucks on scene, all happening on mclaughlin avenue, what appears to be a three-story apartment complex. you see ladder trucks, fire trucks on the roof. can you see smoke coming out of one of those units. no word yesterday when there was any injuries, perhaps casualties in this event but you can see such a big response right now. definitely still under way. they are still responding, still trying to get this thing out. we are work ongoing getting better information. we've confirmed this is a four-alarm fire. that's a practically big fire, really big response required. we can see that from live images from sky 7-up right now. we do have a crew on the way on the ground. we'll get you as much information as soon as possible throughout our newscast and also

on abc 7 news app. back to you. >> thanks, jessica. the ceo of starbucks met with two african-american men recently arrested. >> this video from philadelphia went viral over the weekend. this is obviously video of the protest. the store manager called police say the men refused to leave after employees said they had to buy something. here is the video. the coe on "gma" and called it wrong. promised to make changes including unconscious bias training. this morning he met with the men. a spokesperson did not release details about the meeting. the manager that made the 911 call is no longer employed at the store. we're learning about similarities in southern california. brandan ward said a worker wouldn't give minimum the rest room code, said he needed to make a purchase. a short time later a white man was given the code without buying anything. he recorded it.

definitely dress warm. 7:05 first pitch, 57, dropping to 53 by the time the game is over. here we're looking at clouds tomorrow at noon. light to moderate showers moving into north bay at 4:00. light green, moderate yellow and oranges. by 7:00 starting to move to the rest of the bay. it's really here at 8:30 coming down pretty heavily, then turns over to scattered lighter showers. you can see clearing by 4:00 thursday morning and a whole lot of sunshine thursday afternoon. rainfall amounts .1" south bay, a quarter to half inch in north bay, all depends whether you get under one of those heavier showers. temperatures go from almost average to well above average away from the coast friday. look how warm it gets this weekend. 70s and 80s away from the coast. alexis with hopefully more good news. >> things have not been too bad on the roads this morning. i do want to take you into 880 in oakland where we have a two-car crash. sounds very minor, no injuries, oak street and everyone pushed

this morning. we don't know the cause. but there were some people trapped and needed rescue on a balcony. we have not seen them since we arrived, so we're assuming they have been taken from the building. i did see a few people walk down the street in their pajamas holding a few items, different bags. maybe those were the items they were able to grab while they escaped from the building. i can tell you there's a huge response with firefighters and police officers here. we are still seeing some smoke but i have not seen any train since we arrived. firefighters have different tools. they are dpeefinitely checking e roof of the building for hot spots. at this point it looks like things are under control. the moment we got off the freeway you could already smell the smoke, feel the smoke in your eyes. so there definitely is a bit of a traffic impact here as well. they do have mclaughlin avenue blocked off, so keep that in mind. still quite a few firefighters
